O.K. I'm not one to hate on (much) the prequel trilogy but "Star Wars 7": unless they're adapting Zahn's Thrawn Trilogy with Lucas himself only as a 'technical adviser' just no.

It will be interesting that Marvel and Star Wars are under the same umbrella now.

I guess that means the Clone Wars animated series will be leaving CN eventually even if it doesn't end. I wonder were Detours will end up now?

That's how I felt when I first heard it. But then why else would they spend $4 billion to buy LucasArts?

Its not a joke and i expect tons of rage over this. Sorry for my pessimism. Mainly over the new star wars movie every 2-3 years bit but that could be a rumor.

There's gonna be tons of rage, Star Wars fans are very very high on the neckbeard scale.

There are three things that can essentially happen for Star Wars though..

A. They edit the fuck out of George Lucas and it'll be the complete opposite of the shoddy prequels

B. They did let Joss Whedon do whatever he wanted with The Avengers, but letting Lucas do whatever will result in more prequel-esque quality

Or C. it gets turned over to someone else and Disney lets them do their thing. So we don't really know.


"Technical Advisor" means he still has some sort of hand, Lucas was only an 'idea guy' for Indiana Jones Crystal Skull and look how that turned out.

There is nowhere to go here but up.

The Clone Wars cartoon is way better than the prequels were, so we already know that it's possible for good new Star Wars stuff to exist.

And who knows, maybe now we'll get a re-release of the unedited original trilogy?

I honestly agree with Scythe on this. Whether the new trilogy will be better or worse than the original is anyone's guess, but I honestly believe, in my heart of hearts that there is positively no way Disney will let themselves screw it up as bad as Lucas did with the prequels.

Anyway, the more I think about it if Star Wars was still in the hands of Fox the second George became one with the Force they would have tried to remake the original trilogy more closely based off the original screen plays with the Kaiburr crystal, and Vader being two separate characters, and Han as a big green alien: so continuing to make sequels with Disney will likely preserve the original films more than if the property didn't go to Disney.

If Leia gets admitted to the official pantheon of Disney Princesses and Drossel Von Flügel keeps getting ignored there's just no justice in this world.

I wonder if Manny Calavera will get a cameo in Pixar's upcoming Día de los Muertos themed film (scheduled 2016 release date I think).

What would be the fan reaction be if Disney bought Square-Enix and combined them with Lucas Arts?
