Hey, think I'd like to share this here for those that'd be intrestead. I have a few days ago created a small strategy board game featuring a few mortasheen monsters. I did it both as a way to both temporarily scratch that mortasheen itch as well as having something to geek around with.

I figured someone around here might enjoy it as well. But it does require a few hobby skills, since it doesn't come with any tokens/dice/figurines.

I also might be convinced to do more monsters and gradual balance improvements, but that solely depends on peoples response to this.

Enjoy!

You could make printable tokens! Just a sheet of little chips of their heads or something

Yeah. Although things like Suffocation or Withering is better tracked with Dice, since they grow / alter so much doing gameplay. But stuff like Tar Pits and the actual 10 monsters is an obvious choice. Also its nice to have your concent on this. smile.gif

I'm eager to play this, and will download it as soon as i get home.
I'm going to make some of my own little chips or tokens for pieces.

Alright, I've downloaded it and it seems like it'll be fun.

Only five monsters, though? Also, I'd reccommend making the spaces on the board a bit smaller.

For specific monsters, I recommend Xenogog, Wirvinia, Vermoeba, Chainsaw Kid, Mumblegog, Pestequirm, Ticklestitch, Harlequeen, Manglewood, Fangatan, Vespicable, and Chimerisect.

This looks great! But I was also kinda surprised that Chainsaw Kid wasn't on the monster roster.

Chiknhart: The reason Chainsaw kid isn't on the roster is that I don't have a whole lot of insight into the mortasheen monsters, so for my baisis I used a list of monsters I liked and picked out the cases that each would feel unique.

Pyro: Awesome! I had wanted to expand the roster, but didn't have the knowhow to point out some intresting monsters. I had originally assigned each monster a certain role in combat with distinct weaknesses and strengths, so now its just a question of how unique I can make any of the following monsters. smile.gif

I have also, by the way, had some other rough ideas:

Since this one is purely on strategy and movement, I thought I'd be intresting making something fokused much more about experimenting and splicing monsters. The only real problem with that would be having win-conditions if it were only about experimenting, as well as the need to create some basic "scientific" language all monster creation would adhear to and on top of that having a game master who could dish out information and discoveries from the raw tables based on player actions.

I'd like this. A way to alter monsters would be cool. I also feel the board should be a bit bigger.
