That was really cool, Scarface in particular. Really liked his gruff gangster voice.

Yes, it is very nicely done!
If you're like me, you might have been intrigued by the world of Hayao Miyazaki'a Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. Well, the film will be receiving a quasi-prequel in the form of Studio Ghibli's first live-action short film, "Giant God Warrior Appears in Tokyo", starring everybody's favourite world-destroying God Warrior!
You can check out more details and a trailer here:
In the movie, the God Warrior was an incomplete rotting organism, which probably inspired the Digimon Raremon. Here we get to see what a God Warrior looks like fully-formed, and the effect is sort of surreal; it's like if Raremon lost weight and toned up to athlete status.
For a better look at the design, you can check out this statue here:
Kinda... kinda looks like an extra 0 there at the end? Right?

NVM they added an extra 0 to the millimeter thing too. This thing's like 20 inches high, holy crap.
And the figma does indeed cost normal, but it's still exclusive to the museum or a japan-only webshop so any of us who wants it will have to pay someone to fetch it for us.

Actually, it is receiving a general release in February 2013. I preordered mine for about $60.

This film was made for Anno's exhibit on special effects right? Do you know if there are any plans for it to ever be available anywhere other than the exhibit?

Probably not, it's one of the museum's draws.
The Ghibli museum has a similar exclusive thing with a bunch of its own short films and as far as my limited knowledge goes, none of those made it past "exclusive short showed only in a location or two".

I haven't found any info yet about a DVD release. I certainly would love to see it.
Apparently the exhibition ends in October, so after that point we might see some kind of wider release. That's when the merchandise goes up for online sale:
