Feng Zhu Design, Fantastic Gigeresque artwork!

Greetings fellow leeches.
I would like to present, for your viewing pleasure, the art of Mr. Feng Zhu.
For those of you unfamiliar with his art work, it can perhaps best be described as H.R Giger's surrealism blended with H.P. Lovecraft's indescribable supernatural, cosmic Horror and half breeds with a touch of Gothic horror, A La poe and added as a final, thoughtful finishing touch; the grandiose, romantic visual imagery of the pulps.

These lovely artworks are eye candy and are the stuff Bogleechian Wet Dreams are made of!

And so, without further ado, I present, the Artwork of Mr. Feng Zhu.

Without the phallic imagery, it cannot truly be called Gigeresque. That said, the art IS quite awesome.

I have been a fan of Feng Zhu's work since I first saw his stuff in the Star Wars episode 3 art book. I, however, do not see how his work is comparable to Geiger or Lovecraft. Many of his works have organic shapes, but are clearly mechanical, whereas Geiger's work blurs the distinction between the two. Geiger also uses a limited color pallet in most of his work, whereas Feng Zhu uses the full range of colors.

Most of these are also conceptual works done for commercial projects. This means that they are not as refined as a piece that would actually be for display or use in a final project. They do not show much of a personal style as many other artists who also do conceptual art create stylistically similar pieces. The images also vary drastically in content for the same reason.

His art could best be described as commercial concept art. His site exists to get hired to work on projects. If it has airs of Poe, Geiger, or Lovecraft, it is because the job called for it.

Irrespective of whether his work is commercial or not, or the fact that "the job called for it", it has a very distinct "flavor" of all of these artists and genres combined and is immensely appealing and enjoyable, all the same.

No matter if it stylistically resembles the art of other conceptual artists.

Art is art, a rose by any other name

Art after all, mimics life with life on occasion, mimicking art.

It's only natural for art to inspire art.
