Just curious as to what all of you will be playing when the RPG comes out. Like college, race, monster preferences, etc.
I think I'm going to be a Shade (even if they're not supposed to be playable) Engineer who specializes in Unknowns (specifically Xenogog, Wirvinia, and Underfiend), Zombie Spawn (Squirminator, Ectozyme, and Bezulga), and various other monsters (Vermoeba, Lullabile, and the entire Plaguemen family). I will also have a pet Urgh named Babby which I will take with me everywhere and keep on my shoulder.
How about you?

It's weird, whenever I'm given the choice to play as a group of boring, bland humanoid fantasy races I ALWAYS want to play as a twisted weird monster, but when I'm given the choice of monsters as a character choice I always go with boring humans.
So I'll probably be a boring human. Probably a rookie monster catcher or something.

Can you even be a human in Mortasheen? Cause everything I've read leads me to believe that 'trying to be a monster tamer' is a condition with a 100% mortality rate in humans...

I'm the same way, I always want a character to stand out and I honestly don't know what I would play in Mortasheen that would be fun for me when everything is already a monster.

Probably a very nearly human-like mutant.

Aren't "pure" humans considered the lowest possible lifeform in Mortasheen?

(just like real life!)

It doesn't matter, everyone here is going to be a human because of the innate power fantasy that they still want to be a human, because you know, they ARE humans, except they control ALL the monsters and have sex with ALL the porn stars.

As for me, I'm going to literally be a floating statsheet because that's what makes up my character in the game in the first place.

It is like being raped by Satan, there is no shame to being raped by Satan since if it happens it is an ineveitability that was ordained by the universe. It is in short a purely physical experience."

Well, I'd imagine Things like mutants and Zombies are technically humans, just much much better.

If I play a character (because at this point I'm more likely to run a game of this rather than play in one) I might be a fishperson. I doodled a concept of one a while ago which had anglerfish and nautilus features.

I got two ideas.

Dr.Anxiety

A depressed Borg(?) Genetist that is just a brain in a flower pot of special preserving soil. He has a vine/arm growing from his head that he can use to drag himself around if needed, but prefers to have a monster carry him. He probably wouldn't limit himself to any one class of monster, but he'd show strong interest in botanicals.

Bunga Wunga

A crazy Orlok Engineer who's just doing the best he can. He replaced his lower half with a turret and walks on his hands. Not sure if he would have a specialty class, but he'd be a great excuse to build an army of biomecha.

The character I've created is a mutant Surgeon, with an open ventral cavity, a short tail, overlong bony limbs, long baleen-like teeth. All of his shirts have a plastic/glass panel on the front, so everyone can see his fabulous organs. Additionally, he'll do quite a bit of semivoluntary organ transplants.
Also he will have basically zero social skills, and neurosis.
Also also several of his organs will have little valves on them so he can insert/remove things at will.

When he's really nervous he'll just stand there and pull tapeworms directly out of his intestines.

It relaxes him, you see.

I've got lots of ideas, including:

Sizlack: A human psychic who in his childhood had a diet consisting wholly of Crepulescent brain worms, the scientist studying him being surprised the human didn't die from overdose. One day, little Sizlack used his mental powers, wether or not intentionally, do kill the scientist keeping him, literally making his brain explode and absorbing all his knowledge in the process. He used that knowledge to turn the lab in his new home, become a skilled scientist, and to create the "Hand of Doom", a gauntlet that allows him to use his psychic powers more efficiently, using them to preserve his human body, thus managing to be as resistant as any "ordinary" mutant. He stands out among his peers due to his shattered mind, a side effect of the brain worms

'Pretty Boy' Flark: A half-orlok half-gillman engineer. Once the vampires decided to create a cross-breed between these races, wether because they needed better and more efficient servants or they simply didn't have anything better to do that particular day. The results were dissapointing, the creatures born being barely better than garbage monsters. They were set loose somewhere in the slums of Mortasheen, where they either died horrible deaths or were kept as pets. All except Flark. He made a name for himself thanks to his natural talent of eating everything smaller than his mouth (which was very, very large and filled with many wonderfully sharp teeth). Soon, he noticed something called "teknogologogy" and discovered how he could use it to kill things. So, he became an engineer.

Doctor McDragon: A dragon surgeon. Many people wonder how McDragon became a surgeon and or what he even is. DOCTOR McDragon eats a lot of people.

I'm enjoying thinking about Ragspaper measuring out his lifes actions based on this fundamental premise.

Ragspaper sat on the couch, more people he didn't know crowded around him, unable to see his eyes past the gorilla mask. A young womans hips rubbed against his thigh;

This thread is a bad idea.

"Hey who's this guy?"

"I don't know, I think he came in with Sarah."

"Hey who are you?"

He remained silent.

This thread is a bad idea.

"Justin, is that you?"

This thread is a bad idea.

I'd be a Gillman or even orlok geneticist: Gillmen are great. id custom evolve a bigass zombie brute based on a guilloteeth(tooth?). also, id like to be able to help out in battle, so heavy self modification is in order
