Thoughs figures were used to pormote the tmnt short anime series, called Turtle sanit maki or some jazz like that. But back to topic Should I rewacht the frist Avatar series before wachting this new one?

It depends on how much you remember. If you remember all the important plot details, you should be fine. Of course, it's worth watching anyway...

Well at least he has claws and legs, as opposed to Raph and Donnie, who just have tails.

Also, I've read that apparently, this season was really a homage to the anime. They even had a Demon Shredder loosely based on a Japan-exclusive toy of the same name

Ebonwumon from Digimon?

I like how they took "Xuanwu"/Dark Warrior from Chinese, replaced the "Xuan" (Dark) with Ebon, and went with it. The same with Azulongmon (Qinglong, Blue/Green Dragon.) Zhuqiaomon and Baihumon got to keep their actual names. Baihumon I can understand, but I'm not sure about Zhuqiaomon, since he has the same problem of anyone who can't read Pinyin having no idea how to say his name.
