There's a tutorial so extensive that it can turn you into something competent right away, and it has immense "pro play" value if you're into that kind of thing. It was pretty much designed to be a balanced competitive game you can play at a tournament and not worry about uber cheap shit.

...Though you aren't interested in that.

But me, I'd buy it full price on Steam if it ever came out on Steam (I haven't touched my Xbox in months)

Plus it's one of the most forgiving fighting games in terms of timing. I couldn't even string most of the combos in Marvel Vs. Capcom's challenge mode, but Skullgirls really only had 1 tricky tutorial segment.

well, since my playstyle is " press random buttons and hope something cool will happen" together with the fact that I don't play multiplayer games in general and only fighting games with friends in particular is the chance that I will play this quite low.

(allso because I'm the only one that don't have a xbox and that the friends that does own one shares the same "$15 for a 8 char fighting game is not worth it" mentality.)

Fighting games are fun! And I'm so used to dull fucking "sexy girls" designs that this actually stands out somewhat. Also, they're actually sexy! Also monster girls.

I'm not seeing any bitching under its tumblr tags yet, just gushing and more gushing.

Having looked at all the character designs, the only ones that seem explicitly designed to be "sexy" are Parasoul and Valentine, and possibly Ms. Fortune. All the rest look downright conservative for female video game characters.

Also, keep in mind that having eight out of eight characters in a fighting game be female and having only three of them be explicitly sexy is much better than most fighting games, in which four out of twenty characters are female and all of them are explicitly sexy.

But enough of this rage. I actually don't like any of these characters in particular. None of them are my thing, I suppose. I do like Filia.

That's still better than MY complaint, which is that the attack sounds don't feel "crunchy" enough to me, and the music is just 1-2 levels too far from fighting game music and too close to lounge music.

It's a bit less "fighty" than frickin Marvel Vs Capcom 2's lounge music, for crying out loud. Most of the tracks could be fixed with instruments (mayeb even Castlevania-esque instruments?) but barring like 2-3 tracks, everything's so relaxing.

Wait a second, are they legitimately trying to claim that Peacock, the girl with the proportions of a 1930s cartoon character, is meant to sexually appeal to lolicons?

I'm sure there are people to whom Peacock represents the ideal specimen of womanhood, and my heart goes out to them.

Every time I see an argument positing that sexy=sexist, I fall one step closer to becoming a dominatrix-themed supervillain.

I like it. Wish it had more characters and that there were a few more "normal"-looking characters like Parasoul, but it is way better then that failed abortion called "Soul Calibur V". My top three are Ms. Fortune, Peacock, and Cerebella.

Speaking of which, I have several ideas for my own fightings games: One involving superheroes and supervillains (Expies of popular ones and some in public domain like Black Terror.), one 2D arena-based set in the Wild West, one with different giant monsters and robots, and one with robots from different nations fighting each other

The nationalist robots should all be hurtful stereotypes.
