I like music! I like vidya games! I like vidya game music! Let's post our favorite songs! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zCzqEO9dhc&feature=relatedA recent favorite, "The Beginning Is The End" from Metal Slug 7 carries on the tradition of ridiculously kickass music in the series. While most other games just use organs or ambience or ominous Latin chanting to give a sense of finality, The Beginning is The End relies on its heavy beats, trumpets and dramatically catchy melody. Completely unlike any other "final level" music in any other game I've played. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQ_nKGSH3bwOne of my favorite video game bosses also has one of my favorite boss themes ever! Fast, catchy, and, above all, completely demented, Mr. Patch's theme reminds everyone why you should be scared of the circus. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GL0hOttR2vMMetal Slug 5. Final Attack. Does anything else really need to be said? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZgb9cbSB8IThough Dynamite Headdy's entire soundtrack is awesome, Sky High really stands out as quite possibly the single best 16-bit boss theme I've ever heard. EVER. This song needs to be given a rock cover so badly it HURTS. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QxLF-44aGKghttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yu_UcWlEvG0Rozenkreuzstillette is a very strange game. Not only is it a homebrew Megaman clone set in a fantasy setting with an all-female cast, it has gratuitous German thrown everywhere and features about a billion cameos and references to other games. It's hard. It also has incredibly fucking rad music. It melds standard dramatic boss instruments-violins and organs-with electric guitars- a surefire recipe for success.

Moar metal slug! Metal Slug 5 - Windy Day http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ii8Mnwzgv3oFits "Western" to a tee. Except it's totally awesome. Contains enough rock to make it a Metal Slug soundtrack, yet also gains a whole new set of western-type instruments. It's all there! Metal Slug 3 - Midnight Wandering http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fI2NDJ6TxBg&feature=relatedFits its zombie mayhem stage perfectly. Metal Slug 5 - Ruins Excavation http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tp0bIOBJsbI&feature=relatedHaving a totally boring title, this song is sorta like Midnight Wandering 2. Except it totally takes on a life on its own without the stage. Listen and see. I am going to be hard pressed to single out any one Touhou song, or which remix if it comes down to that. Maybe I'll get around to it soon. Advance Wars has always had very cool little character themes, with fitting styles With its newest installation, Days of Ruin, it upgraded to real rock/electronica instruments, and arguably changed styles. Sturm's theme, from AW1 and 2. Harsh rockin' and fitting for a final boss. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=en-7nzSphdkGrit's theme, AW1 and 2. Catchy, and belies the fact that he will blow up every single thing you own. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bXM-WqvT18&feature=relatedSensei's theme, AW2. Also catchy, and does little to belie his awesome power. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1_ZikjqLsY&feature=relatedHawke's theme, AW2. My favorite theme of the AW advance ones. Has this feeling of suppressed power and "wall of sound". I play as him just to hear this theme loop. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4_Zjz8WOC4&feature=relatedHere's Waylon's theme, from Days of Ruin. Sounds pretty ominous compared to the asshole that he is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyWTEQmiNB0&feature=relatedAnd here is a totally epic theme from a little known doujin game, Big Bang Beat: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yppQZsZsYaU

Oh, and to start an INTERNET FIGHT, these are the best 16-bit boss themes I've heard, and there's more than one because I am a tremendous waffler. There are also tons of honorable mentions. I'd post all those, but not right now. Anyway: Chrono Trigger - Magus' Theme http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UfCV1bVOiGc&feature=relatedIf you didn't admit this was an awesome song, I'd be inclined to call you sub-human. I'd say this is definitely the best character theme in Chrono Trigger, but it beats some of the other characters' only by 2-3 points on a 100 point scale, IMO. Lufia 2: Rise of the Sinistrals - Sinistral Battle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQ063-r3r20This song made me find the game and play the whole game up to the point where the song is played. And it still didn't disappoint at all. Chrono Trigger - World Revolution http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaULITIzS3gWhenever I hear a final boss theme, I have to hold up to this song as the standard. And it should be.

I'm gonna have a long list... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0p07qajeP0...re=channel_pageThe song for the battle against White Fatalis. Nearly the best song I've ever heard, ever. The ONLY way to experience it is with headphones at full volume, and when you couple it with the actual fight...glorious. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bA0v86S18sY&feature=channelThe Volcano battle theme for Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. Another song I just love. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKrdEm7jso4&feature=relatedhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILtNvCmh-MQDancing Mad, the final boss theme of my favorite Final Fantasy character ever. It just barely ties with the White Fatalis theme as one of the best fight songs I've ever heard. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rp_izPofocABioinformatics, the first song from the final boss of Metal Slug 3. Nobody seems to like this song enough to upload it, but I love it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGsuEY5XVhsFuriously, probably my favorite song from the Metal Slug series. It just extrudes awesome. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zrkggGVFggThe incredibly underrated game Rengoku 2 had a great soundtrack, and this song is one of the best on it. Only parts of it appeared in the actual game, as the final boss song and the menu theme. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtzibEIu2Mc&feature=relatedThe Wrathful, another Rengoku 2 song. I love it to bits, and it just fits its sin (wrath) so well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKOuCeBlRpc&feature=relatedRevolution, yet another Rengoku 2 song. This one plays when you're on the 99th floor of the 100 floor bonus game, and the fight for that floor is against the flagship character of the games, who never actually appeared in any of them except as cutscenes. It's probably my favorite off the soundtrack. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIeOXBedKIQThe Minotaur boss battle from God of War. Easily the best song on the game, it's basically the only thing that kept me from throwing the controller out the window on God mode during that fight. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J0JcesgCoFc&feature=relatedThe Chameleos theme from Monster Hunter Freedom 2. An awesome song for an awesome monster. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUwnhQ53zK8&feature=relatedThe final boss song from Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. It doesn't quite exude the "legendary, epic awesome" of the White Fatalis theme, but it's way up there in awesomeness. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QykZ_g9bhoChorus in the Darkness, my favorite song from Devil May Cry 4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtlhadd8gjI&feature=relatedThe Viper, another great song from Devil May Cry 4.

Thanks all for posting! I like doing threads like this because it lets me hear more awesome vidya game music and see how our musical tastes differ, I have some more! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwpLSiplyYc&feature=relatedThe final boss, 02's theme from Kirby 64. Yeah, you've all probably heard this one before, but seriously, for a Kirby game this is pretty damn dark. Probably the single most ominous theme in the entire Kirby series. Also, know what's interesting? According to an official Japanese book on Kirby, 02's premise is that he's a being made out of nothing but negative emotions, completely unable to ever feel anything resembling happiness...and since he can't feel it, he figures no one else should and aims to smother everything in darkness to end all happiness. Damn.--- Paper Mario; The Thousand Year Door has some of catchiest boss themes I can remember. Among them are; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eU5sl4Vdn90&feature=relatedThe theme that plays when you have to fight the Shadow Sirens, a trio of shadow witches who work for the main villain. It's delightfully weird! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mll2EwvxnrMThe theme that plays when fighting against Rawk Hawk, who's basically the Mario version of Hulk Hogan. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3KFFPdF-KY8&feature=relatedThe theme that plays whenever you have to fight Doopliss, a petulant, self-obsessed bedsheet ghost capable of stealing people's identities. It's Halloweeny! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXSSI_3Jv28The theme that plays during the final showdown against the Shadow Queen, an ancient demon that was sealed away a thousand years ago and aims to plunge the entire world into eternal darkness. Can you baweeve it??! ----- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPrjE98sz0MI'm Not Nice, Mimi's second boss theme from Super Paper Mario. I love how unhinged it sounds; rather appropriate considering you're fighting a spoiled little girl whose head turns upside down and sprouts giant spider legs and spits jewels at you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvLK8777kGAThe final boss's theme from, believe it or not, Sonic The Hedgehog 2006. Though as far as I can tell the entire game was nothing but a colossal trainwreck for Sonic, I cannot deny that this is one hell of a climactic music piece. It's practically screaming "This is what it's all been building up to! No matter what, we cannot lose! THIS IS IT!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ja5QUTlgZ3Y&feature=relatedArmored Armadillo's theme from Megaman X. Quite possibly the most hectic music in the game, which befits the stage-you spend a lot of time hurtling through tunnels on spiked minecarts and being chased by tanks. sorry if I keep posting too much shit, I just like vidya game music....

I felt Drake's theme was severely weakened in the DS version. From Kirby 64: Miracle Matter. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRy4sqdZ7VAThis song is pretty dang menacing and is a great spin-off of the regular boss theme. and you'd think it'd be pretty hard to top until you unlock the secret stage, and with it the 02 theme. Oh well. At least Miracle Matter feels more like a boss fight than 02 does. The original Paper Mario was no slouch in the music category either, and that's an understatement. KOOPA BROS. GUESS WHAT THEY ARE A HOMAGE TO? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uyPqKmCQvNgTubba Blubba's. This is a very menacing chase theme, but for some reason it sounds way better in my memory. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chyvUjnXF04&feature=relatedHuff n' Puff theme. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S97IVhUvhrc&feature=relatedHere's some from Sonic Adventure 2, which was the last great 3-D Sonic game... I'm still glad that the music for Sonic games has stayed consistently great. But SA2 has a very, very consistently strong soundtrack, even if you're like me and can't stand the wimpier vocal songs or the rap songs. Metal Harbor. If this had come in an earlier Sonic game, this would easily be a classic. It just screams "SONIC THE HEDGEHOG" right in your face. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFTVuLKTnV8Rumbling HWY. This is just a great song, partially melancholy as you run from the place you once called home, but still with that hopeful feeling that you'll win in the end. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wrxs2r-ZOAE&feature=relatedSand Ocean. Somehow I get the feeling that this song is underrated. Anyways, it gives off this badass vibe, like "I'ma gonna stomp right on through your stupid little quicksand level." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_ijr48AGmg&feature=relatedLive and Learn, the opening theme. This theme, for some reason, just WORKED for the final battle. Vocal songs can often sound incredibly cheesy as boss themes, but this one is awesome. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9zZus_1_agAnd now to be completely random, here's the final boss theme from Sonic Heroes, What I'm Made Of. It works very well too, but it helps that it's kinda similar to Live and Learn. Maybe space/sky battles are awesome. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MuVAaU63K7kOh dear, I've made another huge post, huh?

I would like to add all of the Shadow of the Colosuss music, but I am too lazy to look for it.
