| QUOTE | | But really, any CSM book that increases variety would be good. |
Yah, I've been dying for chaos to finally become just as diverse as the imperial armies (preferably moreso).
I was really excited when the chaos daemons came out as an independent army, because I thought it was the beginning of chaos finally making a comeback, but sadly it was not to be, at least not to the scale everyone would've liked.
The cultists in the new box make me optimistic again, at least that a new book of some kind, of any kind, pertaining to chaos.
Most likely going to be just an updated CSM codex and then nothing more to do with chaos for years, but I'm holding on to the faint hope of something else coming along eventually. L&D, Legions, Chaos Weasels, I don't much care at this point.
Though it is never likely to happen, if chaos orks became an actual thing I would start foaming at the mouth and falling over backwards.

Lots of chaos iconography and mutation.
I don't think they would ever really get an army book, it's just that I run that theme with my orks and I've always felt that anything chaos other than humans isn't really explored enough in the lore.

Chaos and Orks would cancel each other out and create a race of intellectual, well mannered goblinoids in freshly ironed business suits with a high-tech utopian society.

What makes you think this isn't ALREADY THE CASE?!?!?!?!*Twilight zone theme* But seriously, orks have basically already achieved utopia (by their terms anyway).

Chaos doesn't really have much to offer to Orks. Most humans turn to the Dark Gods in exchange for power, knowlege or immortality, but Orks alreayd think they're the strongest so they don't need any help from whimpy non-Orky gods, they have no need for knowlege and they don't fear death (since they belive Gork and Mork will just reincarnate you so you can have another go). If Orks get corrupted, it usually happens by accident (eighter exposed to enough Warp energy to physically corrupt them, or mistaking a Chaos shrine for a shrine of Gork and/or Mork and ending up with blessings from the Dark Gods from worshipping there), altough some Orks, like the Blood Axes klan who often mimic human habits, might think getting extra arms/tentacles to krump people with might be a good idea. However, since Orks can intinctively know if an Ork doesn't "act proper Orky" (due to their gestalt psychic field), any corrupted Orks would likely be killed off quickly.

I yell at people just for the satisfaction of them knowing I hate them for being different from me. I just wish I could actually hurt their feelings or ruin their lives somehow instead of mildly irritate them, that'd be sweet as shit. |

You're doing it wrong it's But, anyway, just imagine the possibility if come Chaos warbands kept tainted Ork squads (you know for the Evlulz): Khronate Orks: not much of a difference. Papa Nurgle embracing Orks: I think I've actually seen these modeled for a Black Gobbo article. They could be rotting piles of fungal putrescence that cause puffball like fungus in there wake that spurt out short-live, malformed, nurgling-like squigs. Greens Skin Tzeentch Pawns: Biker Nobz so mutated that they become a mutated mass of fungal flesh and steel that puke pure warp energy at their foes. A Slaaneshi Warboss that has become a gluttonous mass of fat and teff with dozens of mouths sporting powered knife and fork ready to consume all before it.

In response to Nomic:
Orks follow strength, and if a group of orks were to somehow to come to the conclusion that the Chaos Gods were stronger than Gork and Mork, their choice would easy. But you are right that their inherent un-orkiness would drive most proper orks to at least shun them, but being orks, chaos-aligned greenskins would probably gravitate towards what few like-minded warbands they could find. These outcasts would probably attract more outcasts, bottom of the barrel freebooters and the like. Some who are comitted to chaos and others who have just been booted out of every other warband they've been in and have nowhere else to go. Eventually, the inflow of open-minded, crazy, or outcast orks could become a full-blown WAAAGH!, especially if the chaos orks started winning major victories or simply starting big fights, which would probably attact more non-chaotic orks just looking for a war to fight. I'm not saying that all orks would worship chaos if given the choice, most would distrust it too much, I'm just saying that the possibility of orks who are not quite right in the head turning to chaos is not impossible.

Orks actually don't have enough emotional depth to satisfy the Gods. Sure they like fighting, so Khorne's mildly interested, but they don't really plan (Tzeentch is out), they don't feel despair (Nurgle), and they don't really want anything but to fight (so Slaanesh gets really limited).
Not only does Chaos have nothing to offer Orks, Orks have nothing to offer Chaos.
Just my two scents.
