Actually after a while of Act 6 Act 2 I've been able to read their quirks as fast as normal text. It took me a really frustrating time to get used to but the conversations are pretty damn funny once you get past that. Though when the text is causing you problems it's never funny enough to counter the annoyance of deciphering that shit.

It's a pretty common complaint amongst new readers, and one of the things I've seen people complain about Act 6 a lot. Sorry for the mistake, just going with what I know first.

I think the point that's missed is that even if you can get used to it it shouldn't take 6 fucking acts to do it. And if you can't completely understand it as well as regular English then the problem compounds because we all know about the pesterlog walls of text.

I'm also secretly glad that the plot is as convoluted as the gimmick text because I, having not kept up with Act 6 because i didn't want new kids, can read all the spoilers and not understand a lick of it.

But in all seriousness, Calliope is adorable and has a wicked hot ass, even if only because it was traced over Terezi's.


Also, my trick for reading Homestuck: skim the text, look at the pretty pictures, and let fan speculation and art explain the rest. The main product is already a collaborative effort with the fandom at this point, anyway.

I should mention it if it hasn't already, but undyingumbrage is meant to represent the anti-fandom and common complaints against Homestuck, in the same way that Calliope represents the positive side of the fandom.

I'm loving this intermission so far. My only problem is that the new game is coded in HTML5, so I had heck of a time actually getting to play the thing. Hopefully he's able to get all the bugs of the system by the next update.

And on that note, I'm loving the new Alpha trolls. Porrim is one of my new favorite characters in general, and RADglare is hilarious.
