I'd say The Complete Book of Elves from D&D 2e would fit here. I could say why, but really, this RPGNet Let's Read says it better than I ever could (And not just because I'm a bad writer).

Let's just say that there's a very good reason it's been nicknamed "The Book of The Master Race" by RPG fans, and that it makes even elf-lovers cringe. And I'm not sure whether elves as depicted in this book are as bad as or worse than the ones in Eragon.

It's the terrible green screen that makes it for me.

Also, I forgot to mention the best part of the steaming pile of Mary Sue. You see, the author, Colin McComb did a bunch of stuff after that book, including some great Planescape stuff and, of all things, Bogleech's beloved Misfit Monsters Redeemed, which could be considered the diametric opposite of that crap pile.

Of course, the book was Mr. McComb's first design work and he's since apologized for it profusely.
