Okay, so this thread is for monsters created specifically for toylines, IE it has to have been a toy first or specifically put in the tie-in material as an "Early bird preview". I know it's hard to understand, but I basically put that in so tha tthe thread wouldn't get flooded with toys based on monsters from other media rather than ones specifically made for the toy market... Wow, I'm stumbling over my words like a drunk walking through jello. Anyway, here are my first contributions: D-Compose! With a toyline full of kickass horrible monsters, it's a shame that Inhumanoids didn't last longer (Although there are rumors that a prototype of one of the unmade monsters from the show was produced), and D-Compose I like just for being such a unique design (Although Metlar is my favorite). I meann, a humanoid rotting vulture that holds peopel in its ribcage? Awesome! And,while we're on the subject, I also found some really cool Inhumanoids customs here. Monstro/Bio Vipers Basically released at the tail end of the 80s GI Joe line where the design philosophy was EVERYTHING MUST LOOK NEON AND RIDICULOUS AND DATED IN 5 YEARS, these were actually pretty cool toys, with good designs and and a nice heft to them. The action features are pretty cool too, as you can smear "bio-armor" (Really, I didn't know you could use off-brand play-doh as armor), and the one I have can fling globs of it in his left hand and can extrude it from his stomach. Also, there are some great customs of them here, with a hint that Hasbro might bring them back! And, thats all I ahve for now! And yes, you can do figures from The Real Ghostbusters, since almost none of them were actually from the show.

I have both of these. The Bioviper was one of my favorite Joe figures when I was little. :c

Well, I don't know if he counts, because while he only appeared in the toyline, he was actually created for a sequel to Primal Rage that was ultimately never made. And now you know.

Cool! From that link, I also found out about the PET aliens, pretty cool minifigures made by the same guy, with some of them being shown here. I especially like the one referencing Videodrome.

Woah, they made inhumanoids toys?! Omf, that's so awesome!! I loved that cartoon, I bought DVDs of it in like 2002, it's so cool! And wow, a friend gave me those "mega monsters" years ago! I had no idea they were from GI Joe though, I was just given them cause I'm a monster nut I was never interested in that generic "men with guns" series, aside from the movie with the awesome Cobra-la civilization!

Well, those unproduced (Sorta, a few were made for KBToys years later, and I in fact have one.) transforming aliens (I think they were called the Lunartix or something like that) that were supposed to be released at the tail end of the line were pretty neat. I suppose I'll need to try and find pictures.

Yo Joe.com should have pics. I don't know if they allow embedding, though.

Well, here's a revival of this thread! Let me show you a few more great toy monsters: Gigantisaur, who was supposed to be one of the many dinosaurs-with-guns-attached creatures from the tail end of the He-Man line, but was sadly never released. I like most of them design-wise, but Gigantisaurus is my favorite due to his sheer size. This monster was from an unproduced wing of the Pretenders sub-line of Transformers (Basically Transfomers that hid in hollow less-robotic-looking shells), which apparently would have held two humanoid shells, one inside of the other. A shame this guy wasn't produced, as he has a pretty neat looking monstrous design. This creature, called Lobros, came out around the tail end of the Micronauts line and, while not unproduced like the others in this post, didn't come out in large quantities and thus is very rare on the collectors market. He is one of the many original (I.E. Not based of the Microman line) aliens Mego produced for Micronauts, and I think he is my favorite for the sheer bizzarre alienness of the toy. Oh, and that white thing in his mouth? That's his brain! I can find absolutely nothing on this guy anywhere other than the page on which I first saw him, but he does have a pretty neat design. Apparently he was a prototype for a new branch of the Transformers line called Generators: Organics, but it was never produced. He could change from the grotesque Krang-like thing to a robot by flipping around and upside down, though apparently the legs of the prototype are missing. I like him for how grotesque he looks, and how utterly different it looks from the rest of the Transformers line. Imagine what could have happened if the line had actually done something in this direction!

That organic transformers thing is AWESOME, I'm really sad it never made it.
Acidonia, you should post more here, you're like the human encyclopedia of monster toy lines.

Yes! I don't have any others, but I'm very happy to own TV eye. I was surprised at just how tiny they are, too, like under an inch tall but so finely detailed and painted.
Sorry, but same here...I never got interested in Joe as a kid (it wasn't until I was older that I could appreciate it for camp value and the Baroness) but loved the movie for all its inventive biological tools/weapons. I've always wanted to devote a page to them, but I don't know where I'd get nice, crisp screenshots of them all.
