Why is that so lol ebe? Anyone who thinks "both" "sides" (lol like it comes down to two main ones in any conceivable way) are "just as bad" is an idiot. The mainstream representatives of the "right wing" are some of the worst people I have seen in my lifetime. I only know worse people ever existed because I'm familiar with the previous world wars.

I was very particular about the part of your post I quoted. The video you showed was specifically regarding welfare, due to it centering around Fox coverage of a Romney quote. I found it amusing you felt there was so much "malice" coming from "that crowd."

Romney will tell different people in the same room different answers to the same question based on what he thinks they want to hear, so it's incredibly hard to attribute anything he says to any kind of emotion.

As for Fox, with the possible exception of the ones that just seem to be covered in malice generally (O'Reilly) most of them are just employees at a news station whose purpose seems to be being a Republican propaganda mill. The vast majority of wealthy people give few damns about welfare.

The most "malice" regarding welfare comes from the underemployed (or former underemployed) who draw upon some specific instance of having seen someone on food stamps buy a steak with food stamps and cigarettes with money. They internalize this using pathos reasoning to end up angry at how these "freeloaders" are "stealing" what little money they get.

As far as looking at a budget, welfare seems to have an excellent cost/gain ratio, and it amounts for a pitiful part of the national budget (well, except for Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.) What makes it a hot button issue is that emotional response from the underemployed who feel like they are surrounded by people making their life harder.

The "malice" comes from you feeling like they're being selfish and you just want to eat, and them feeling like you're being selfish and they just want to eat. The mainstream representatives just want to rile them up for votes.

Solution: don't eat.

So, FOX News is saying half of America is freeloading in a non-malicious way? Oh thank god, that makes all the difference.

Food stamps and welfare don't cost any noticeable fraction of money from working upper class. There are a million other things the government spends on that it doesn't necessarily need to spend on, and obviously helping people should take priority over, say, a defense budget bigger than almost all other countries combined.

And sorry but when you characterize everyone "not paying income tax" as entitled and lazy that is malicious. And fucking stupid.

I don't pay income tax(cause I have no income lol), and I'm lazy, but not entitled...

As I said, it's fueled by commercial desire. If they were fueled by hatred they would have kept Glenn Beck on the air. But despite the fact he gave them massive ratings, no advertisers would touch his program, so it actually cost money as a net deficit whenever it was on the air. If they were motivated by malice they would have kept it up to keep spreading their message of hate, but all they want is to get advertisers to pay them, which usually corresponds to large ratings, which they gain by being vitriolic.
