There was also a walking with dinosaurs documentary styled film i had on DVD a while ago, where dragons would get fire breath from the gas in their stomachs (which helped the large creature fly) as well as eating a certain kind of stone.
It was actually a really cool idea for a documentary, they even had it narrated by someone who was acting as a paleontologist!

Dragons: A Fantasy Made Real. I'm pretty sure the same company was the one who made the Mermaid thing on Animal Planet.

OH MAN WHAT MERMAID THING IS THIS?
Is it really cool monkey fiji mermaids, or the regular slutty kind that just wants to eat sailors?

The worst part about the Mermaid thing is even though it was presented like a real documentary, it clearly stated after the credits that it wasn't real. Plus the "footage" of the mermaids used the exact CG model that the CGI sequences used. This seems to have had a substantially smaller budget than the Dragons one.
