Jack, Why the fuck do I read this :(

Jack is a furry comic about the furry grim reaper and furry hell (as if they go anywhere else AMIRITE?)

The artwork is awkward, sometimes unreadable and shamelessly cribbed from Todd Mcfarlane.

It seemingly took years for the Author to realize he could touch up his artwork after scanning it, if the scribbled-out typos are any indication.

The writing takes itself pretentiously serious even when it's trying to be lighthearted.

It's a furry comic because the Author can't draw humans without them looking like orangutans.

The first comic ever is an eye-rollingly over-the-top (and scientifically ludicrous) jab at abortion.

Even worse is that the first comic includes the phrase "would of."

The world is supposed to be our own after future humans created anthropomorphic animals and were wiped out by them. This is a major plot point throughout, yet it also constantly shows that all real historical events occurred in the furry-dominated world.

It is not explained why the living world absolutely lacks non-anthro animals. Even insects are humanoid and human sized (but look more like insect-eyed frogs. Sigh). This is made explicit by the fact that all carnivores must eat synthetic meat.

According to its canon, one of the twin towers went to heaven and the other one went to hell. WHOA THAT IS BOTH EDGY AND TOPICAL!!








...............All this, and yet, I burned through the archives the weekend it was first shown to me a good six or seven years ago and still check up on it despite how much more boring it's gotten.

You kinda get suckered in by the trainwreck quality and then find some nuggets of worthwhile creativity. The inhabitants of hell can get interesting, obviously.

It is NSFW. Not just when it's full of gross furry sex, but because reading any part of it in front of other people will probably make you look bad.

Despite its glaring flaws, I did like this comic as a teenager just for its insane over-the-top violence and horror. I liked a lot of the punishments, too - poor Sloth.

It probably helps that I discovered it before I really knew much of anything about the furry fandom.

Of course, I stopped reading it quite a while ago, so.

I tried reading this.
I almost stopped at the raping dolphins part.
I made it to "I TURNED INTO MY DEVIL POWERS AS I RAPED HER" and said "Okay, that's enough", and stopped.

That's not far enough at all. At least get to something involving pedophilia.

I share your conflicted feelings on this. It's horrible in a lot of ways, but it's just intriguing enough that I actually read through a bunch of comics a few years ago.

Am I really the only one who cracked up at "Hey, could you get these dolphins to stop raping me"?

I didn't remember that part at all so I re-read it and no, you're not the only one.

I'm surprised more comic fans haven't cried out that every single bit of dialogue is basically a riff from both Spawn and Dawn by Joseph Lisner (and by extension, pretty much the entirety of Heavy Metal magazine).

It's fun in a B-movie sort of way, as Rev attested to me earlier today and I think that comment is entirely accurate.
