Er... no offense intended, but actually, you don't seem to have remembered the Aztec gods yourself as clearly as you thought you did. Quetzalcoatl wasn't a rain god. Quetzalcoatl was a god of wind, and of knowledge, among other things; he had nothing to do with rain at all. The Aztec rain god was
Tlaloc.
Not that it particularly matters to your story, since the god was never mentioned by name, but... eh, just thought I'd bring it up.
