Since I have an imagination and didn't want to settle for LOL CAT FURRIES DURRHURRYIFF I read through the first two parts of this and imagined the humanoid sapients as bipedal gorgonopsids with biomechanical grafts, who had engineered their species to genetic perfection, purity, and beauty. Probably will read the rest of it at some point in the future, but I'm not fond of it. |

I clicked on this topic, went away, came back and wondered why we were talking about Planescape. |

It's cute that if there's even the littlest bit of good in you, you're totally safe. You could probably build a little house and live on the queen of pain if you felt like it, and who wouldn't? Such a safe neighborhood it outlives the universe. |

There's another one: http://www.orionsarm.com/xcms.php?r=oa-pag..._initiation_toc
It's called Initiation, and I guess has that same furry-alien thing in it. After reading the Jolonah one, though, I'm... bleh. I mean it's cool and all, but seeing as how I can't help but compare this to dogscape, which I'm now in love with, it's kinda underwhelming for the first... half or so of the story. It picks up when they get to Bosch.
I was poking around on their site, and I found a little wiki-esque thing that has an article on space whales. So that's neat, I suppose.
In a fair fight, Queen of Pain wins, it's kind of engineered to be unbeatable. Like a... planet-sized amorphous toture organism version of a Mary Sue, if that makes any sense.
Where do you even find these things? |

I just skimmed over it but despite the awkward writing, it manages to be very disturbing and creepy. Those people who have been turned into nerve ending creatures that are in constant pain remind me of I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream. Also, Dogscape and the Queen of Pain would totally have sex. |

So there's this big collaborative online fiction thing called Orion's arm, which I've only ever read a single story from because this particular story seems to be more popular than the rest of the continuity put together. Possibly because it's about an actual physical hell in outer space that is also a giant living creature called the Queen of Pain which used to be an abused housecat mutated by nanotechnology. It's awkwardly written by what is obviously a furry and includes little gems like this:
