In addition to the already confirmed Book 2, Nickelodeon ordered 26 more episodes of Legend of Korra after that, meaning we'll get at least 3 total seasons! True, things COULD get stale, but I have faith in the team.

  Korra's good, but I say they should bring back Koh. I don't care how, the just have to bring him/her/it back.

  I've been watching Korra pretty avidly lately, gotta say, it's become one of my favorite shows.
I personally think its a lot better than the old series, but I miss all the awesome spirits and things.
I'm surprised there isn't a lot of resentment against fire benders for the sins of their forefathers..

  The season finale just aired, and it was AMAZING! There isn't much to be said without bringing up spoilers, but it makes me even more excited for its return in season 2!

  By the way, since Korra was originally meant to be just a miniseries, which means they're probably going to wrap up the Amon story arc in these upcoming last two episodes, what do you think the next season of 14 episodes would be like?

They could always call the next season "Spirit" after the only "element" of bending that doesn't have a season named after it and make the villain a powerful, nasty spirit. But that's just my idea.

  It's funny that Gamera and Xuanwu/Genbu/Hyeonmu/Huyền Vũ/big important turtle should be brought up in rapid succession, since, despite Gamera's origin in the 90s being linked to Atlantis and other ancient civilizations, by the third film he was somehow linked to the Four Gods of Asian mythology as some kind of reincarnation of Genbu, while the bad guys, Gyaos/Iris, were somehow linked to Zhuque/Suzaku, despite being a giant flying reptile and a bony vampiric squid thing, respectively. There's no mention of who the Tiger and the Dragon might be, and it's never really relevant to the plot, but I suppose when you have giant spiritual animals in Japanese media you are required by law to mention the Four Gods at some point:

  I like how they took "Xuanwu"/Dark Warrior from Chinese, replaced the "Xuan" (Dark) with Ebon, and went with it. The same with Azulongmon (Qinglong, Blue/Green Dragon.) Zhuqiaomon and Baihumon got to keep their actual names. Baihumon I can understand, but I'm not sure about Zhuqiaomon, since he has the same problem of anyone who can't read Pinyin having no idea how to say his name.

  You can't have a discussion of giant zen turtles and not mention a certain series.

"See the TURTLE of enormous girth!
On his shell he holds the earth,
His thought is slow but always kind;
He holds us all within his mind."

Poor Michaelangelo. The other guys turn into giant badass dragons and he just turns into a bigger turtle.

Then again...

Well at least he has claws and legs, as opposed to Raph and Donnie, who just have tails.

Also, I've read that apparently, this season was really a homage to the anime. They even had a Demon Shredder loosely based on a Japan-exclusive toy of the same name
