I just hope the 5th gen isn't going to be as shitty as the last and there'll be more fire Pokemon available from the start

And removing the damn random battles would also be good......

...THAT'S THE ENTIRE GAME

Beelzebuzzer9 - January 29, 2010 09:11 PM (GMT)
Ever played Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker?

That's how I want a new Pokemon game

Chupacabra - January 29, 2010 09:26 PM (GMT)
I like how BB's first comment on a 5th generation of Pokemon goes out of its way to insult the 4th generation.

I've been playing since 1st gen and I thought the 4th gen was the best game, so I have high hopes for the next one.

If you run around in grass, especially in a world with creatures like Pokemon everywhere, you are bound to run into something.

Spivsy - January 29, 2010 09:31 PM (GMT)
I wouldn't be impressed at all if they changed the way you get put into battles, and I have no idea how they would integrate a new system into the game
"Oh, remember Pokémon hid in grass? Yeah, not anymore."

Also no, I've never played dragon quest monsters, I have no idea what you're talking about.

Chupacabra - January 29, 2010 09:41 PM (GMT)
If you didn't have random battles in the grass, what would happen to that guy who teaches you how to catch pokemon?

HEY WHO IZ THAT GUY

HE UZED TO B A GREAT INSTRUCTER

WHAT HAPPEND

REMMEBER WHEN POKE A MANS STOPPED LIVING IN GRAZZ

YEAHZ

DRAGON QUEZT MONZTERZ: JOKERZ HAPPEND

I think Dragon Quest had optional battles or something like that, the game characters looked too much like DBZ characters, so I ignored it.

Galactic Tomahawk - January 29, 2010 10:01 PM (GMT)
It's worth noting that it's not actually confirmed a 5th gen game, just that new Pokemon are definitely involved (which is the important part here!).

I think it's more likely that it'll just be another spinoff, featuring some new Pokemon like how the Mystery Dungeon games and the like did. I think 2010 is too soon to reveal and release a new generation all at once, after the last three took much longer.

acidonia - January 29, 2010 10:13 PM (GMT)
Its begin 4 years since Diamond and pearl came out in japan and pokemon will never get rid of random battles and it does not need fully 3d pokemon either.

And they are making Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 for Ds. In the same month Heart Gold and Soul Sliver come out in America so dose Monster Rancher Ds as well which is Monster Rancher 2 for Ds in japan.

Beelzebuzzer9 - January 29, 2010 10:21 PM (GMT)
I just hope DQMJ2 has all the monsters they forgot in the first one and let you use a variety of creature types then just having to rely on a Great Dragon or a Dark Servant for the big fights

PROTIP: Akira Toriyama's been behind Dragon Quest's character designs since the beginning, YOU MALDROIT!!!

Also he only really started to intergrate character designs from his other works into DQ beginning with DQ IV. I think.

I love how all of Beelzebuzzer's posts are either him complaining about something that's perfectly good or portray him as some type of sexual deviant.

While I agree that the system in DQM:J, in which you see monsters wandering around and can choose whether or not to approach them, is preferable to Pokemon's (at least to me), I don't think Nintendo could implement something like that well.

Why was the last gen shitty? *braces self*

Shadow Goo - January 29, 2010 11:29 PM (GMT)
Hey, fuck you buddy, 4th gen was rad :/ sure, it introduced Lucario and Lopunny (UGH) but the presence of radical shit like Kricketune and Drifblim and stuff more than made up for it. Also, it had the best grass starter since Bulbasaur!

But yeah this is pretty exciting.

Nematode - January 29, 2010 11:36 PM (GMT)
Gen 4 was a good gen for bugs and poisons. sure, it had a high yiff factor, but the fags would have found a way even without them!

Turtwig is the best one. Chimchar looked gay (at least to me).

I loved most of the bugs and poison. Rotom was the best ghost ever, because it was also electric. They had some good ideas for a lot of pokemon. Like Gastrodon.

Galactic Tomahawk - January 30, 2010 12:01 AM (GMT)
Gen 4 is pretty much my favorite, the originals get close but there was just a whole ton of stuff I loved about 4 in general. BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY:

- Famitsu posted an interview with Satoru Iwata, he confirmed that an all-new Pokemon game is in development and will be released this year. The game is not a spinoff, but a new installment of the main series since Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. The new game will take place in a completely new world with innovative new game mechanics.

I'm not 100% sure if this is real, but it seems to be.

Chupacabra - January 30, 2010 12:04 AM (GMT)
4th gen might have had some lame evos, but there were tons of badass ones. Honchkrow, Mismagius, Yanmega, Tangrowth, Gliscor, Roserade, ect.

Galactic Tomahawk - January 30, 2010 12:04 AM (GMT)
I liked most of the 4th gen evos, made a whole ton of guys I liked in 2nd gen actually woth something.

Pray tell, what pokemon gave it this 'high yiff factor'?

The only two I can think of are Lopunny and Lucario...

This new Pokémon software will become the first brand new Pokémon title in 4 years since Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, which sold more than 5.8 million units in Japan, was launched.

Of course, this totally new Pokémon title will include new fields of adventure and a number of new Pokémons living there. As a totally new version, it will contain various unprecedented experiences.

And we have it directly from Nintendo themselves.

Jesus lizard - January 30, 2010 12:24 AM (GMT)
Pokemon had a high yiff factor from the start.
If it has animals/living organisms, it will have yiff.

It really doesn't stop there. Inanimate objects are involved in yiff as well, sadly.

Galactic Tomahawk - January 30, 2010 12:28 AM (GMT)
OH GOD THOSE VOLTORBS

furbearingbrick - January 30, 2010 12:37 AM (GMT)
Jesus lizard speaketh the truth. There's nothing, and I mean NOTHING, that certain people won't fetishize. Drywall, old gym socks, natto (fermented soybeans), railroad spikes, amputation (no, really!), etc., etc...

Chupacabra - January 30, 2010 12:58 AM (GMT)
My first experience of deviantART was an utterly horrifying anthro dragon someone posted for their character appearance.

Horrifying in which context? I don't doubt for a second that it was both.

Galactic Tomahawk - January 30, 2010 01:32 AM (GMT)
I once tried looking up Hypno on Pixiv.

I swiftly regretted it.

Jesus lizard - January 30, 2010 01:56 AM (GMT)
Dragon Warrior Monsters was big with me to.
Not as importent as pokemon, but I'd play it for monthes before I did anything else.

Chupacabra - January 30, 2010 02:27 AM (GMT)
MONTHS, GODDAMMIT

Beelzebuzzer9 - January 30, 2010 02:47 AM (GMT)
I just hope when they release it they can the anime or replace Ash and co. with new characters. It's become nothing but a higher-budgeted Hanna-Barbera cartoon.

No wonder I hated Pokemon in the early 2000's and loved Digimon

Rasec Wizzlbang - January 30, 2010 03:05 AM (GMT)
I stopped watching Digimon halfway through the third generation.

Galactic Tomahawk - January 30, 2010 03:33 AM (GMT)
Remember when everyone was saying TOTALLY GONNA REPLACE ASH with gen 4

Guess what didn't happen.

Chupacabra - January 30, 2010 03:44 AM (GMT)
I like how BB has not, in fact, said anything about Generation Five.

Nematode - January 30, 2010 03:55 AM (GMT)
Digimon was awesome. I broke off somewhere around the time they were breaking into a fortress or something. Beelzebumon and the Dog Deva were there.

So you actually watch the show? Even though that show has the same plot every episode.

Nematode - January 30, 2010 04:03 AM (GMT)
i just play the game. the anime is a hollow shell of its former self, kept animate for the sake of making money off kids too young to be familiar with the previous generation arcs.

i hear Ash has a Gible now, though. you can't go wrong with landsharks.

dodoman1 - January 30, 2010 04:06 AM (GMT)
I look forward to surfing the internet at 3 in the morning for Japanese anime clips and untranslated Bulbapedia entries of the new Pokemon.
