I love this guy's stuff, it's so creative. These pictures all seem to be from a specific manga/movie/something, could you explain it or give a related link? Because these character designs are badass(especially Predator).

tumbleweed93 - August 17, 2009 11:19 AM (GMT)
These are brilliant. The Oxygen Eater is adorable.

I had a figure of that bug as a child.

I loved it so much it's mandibles broke, and it's arms wouldn't preform their actions.

It was such a fun toy.
I wish I still had it.

Monster-Man-08 - September 2, 2009 09:43 PM (GMT)
I quite like the designs of 'Oxygen Eater', 'Bodyless', and 'Edgar' (both the MIB-looking one and the contorted humanoids labeled 'Edgar", albeit backwards). 'Headless' and 'Zammy' are also interesting.

SmashedPumpkin - September 2, 2009 10:48 PM (GMT)
Boy, this is image heavy. Worth it, though. Those designs are awesome. I especially like the "1st Jack" (both fat and slim) and the "1st Preservation" (slim only, heh heh).

Kainsword17 - December 15, 2010 12:54 PM (GMT)
I found these ones and I tought I'd share them with you.

As someone else asked, what are these from? Some seem to be from the game Deep Fear, but are they all from that?

PLEASE actually answer questions you're asked, Kainsword. It's fine if you don't know, but at least tell us that instead of just ignoring the question.

Edit: I also noticed that some of these are from the Sci-Fi Channel original, Archangel Thunderbird.

Not all of them are from Archangel Thunderbird, some are from Deep-Fear, some from Enemy-Zero and Kamen Rider Kabuto. But I do not know where my latest finds are from.

I remember a thread or something devoted to the specific thing those monsters are from.
I have no idea what it was, but I saved some of them away.

My favorite one of these is Society. Simply because it's a giant column with red tendrils coming off it named "Society" for some reason.

There is an awesome character called Nag Nuts Nina by Yasushi Nirasawa which I first saw years ago and which I recently purchased.

Here is a review of the figure:

She made the perfect Penanggalan figure for my silly Bogleech comic! B)

IT'S PAINFULLY HONEST SOCIAL SATIRE!

You comic is not silly it is perfect. I was not aware of this artist.

ScutigeraColeoptrata - December 16, 2010 01:47 AM (GMT)
Thank you sir! B)

Yes, he has done a lot of stuff over the years. One such project is the Archangel Thunderbird 20 minute short, which you can see here:

part 1

part 2

part 3

part 4

Action figure apocalypse!

xolta - December 16, 2010 01:59 AM (GMT)
So far the first three parts were very good. I forgot he was part of the design team for Godzilla final wars.

ScutigeraColeoptrata - December 16, 2010 02:05 AM (GMT)
Yeah he designed the super cool new Gigan.

I loved that short. I've seen on the Sci-Fi channel back in the 90's. It was first time that I'v heard of Yasushi Nirasawa.

ScutigeraColeoptrata - December 16, 2010 05:45 AM (GMT)
Designs that can still look intimidating even when they are only semi-articulated action figures are impressive indeed.

Ragspaper - December 17, 2010 02:36 AM (GMT)
I just watched all of Archangel Thunderbird. It was awesome. I really loved the combination between a very western setting and the twisted tokusatsu aesthetic that Nirasawa brought to the character design.

As a side note, did anyone else notice that the monster Archangel Thunderbird fought was basically Zeiram if Zeiram was a dinosaur?

QUOTE (Ragspaper @ Dec 17 2010, 02:36 AM)
if Zeiram was a dinosaur?

If they ever make a Zeiram 3, this should be the plot.

And then she(?) fights Gehara.

Ragspaper - December 17, 2010 02:51 AM (GMT)
We are NOT getting into the issue of Zeiram's gender. Not only will we be here all night, but when we've reached a non-resolution we will have completely forgotten what we were doing beforehand. We'll be all "Who's Yashy Nirosway?" (Besides, either way Zeiram is a total hottie.)

Anyway, here are some figures from Yashy Nirosway's Buster Vanks Dai toyline, which Kainsword posted some concept art for.

This guy needs his own Tokusatsu. I know he did character design for Kabuto, but that was just the Kaijin. Can you imagine if he was given free reign to make even the heroes look like this? Or the lovable sidekick?

KDarkness - December 17, 2010 02:59 AM (GMT)
I really like the art for that Fishbone character.

Ragspaper - December 17, 2010 03:01 AM (GMT)
I just realized, the bug-faced action figure totally reminds me of how Scythe draws himself. Only if he were a henshin hero.

THERE ARE SKULLS IN MY EYES

Ive found some new Nirasawa artworks that I would liketo share with you guys.

They are designs for demons called "Majin" from a RPG called "POISON-PINK" (called Eternal Poison in the US).

Quick update, I just got the book this Afternoon. It is money well spent, since it has some of the craziest monster designs I've ever seen.

He obviously wanted to "keep us posted." Also you've never showed real interest in his posts. All the same we DO have a few Kaijin fans here, like Scutigera and xolta.

I was planning to show some pages from the book to show you anyway, in fact I was in the progress of putting up this post when you guys posted your comments. So I've scanned 5 random pages to start off with, then see where we go from there.
