http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cqI6hPra7cI didn't know he did the original.
Looks cute, certainly better than some other things he's done lately.

We had a talk about a week ago from a woman that worked a little on frankenweenie, Tori Davis, it was fucking awesome.

Johnny Depp better not be in it...

It's a Tim Burton film, OF COURSE Johnny Depp is in it.

He's not, surprisingly enough, and Catherine O'Hara and Winona Ryder are in it. Victor is being voiced by some kid I've never heard of, and Tom Kenny is doing a few voices as well.

Winona Ryder is a bitch. I met her when I was an extra in a movie. All she did was bitch, complain, scream, and talk down to eveybody.
EDIT: Sorry, I meant a movie. I wasn't in Franken Weenie... I'm no badass!

You're an extra in Frankenweeneie?

I have a naging feeling this will be meh.
Krader - March 3, 2012 05:45 PM (GMT)
It was called Iceman.
Anyway, back on topic, it looks good, but I hope it doesn't stray too far from the original.
Rasec Wizzlbang - March 3, 2012 08:06 PM (GMT)
I assume you mean The Iceman, not Iceman.

Yes. He's an extra in a stop-motion animation.
dodoman1 - March 3, 2012 08:50 PM (GMT)
The original Frankenweenie short film was live-action. Krader probably isn't old enough to have been an extra in that, but you never know.
He could have been a background voice in the stop-motion one, too.

And anyway... Hopefully 2012 will be the year that Tim Burton's decade-plus streak of mediocre direction will end. I'm not really looking forward to Dark Shadows, but this might turn out well.

Here's the newest trailer done in a style reminiscent of old horror B-movie trailers:

Also, here's the previously released second trailer, for anyone who missed it:

I'm going to say I'm cautiously optimistic about this one. I don't care much for his remakes and "re-imaginings," but this is also a remake of his own movie. The way I see it, it could be alright, or it could just be mediocre and forgettable (well...forgettable for most people, anyway).
