It has an Amnesia logo, a blurred out picture, and it links to a map of China.

Wortcov, I'm going to find out exactly where you live, just so I can cut the power and hire a really strong, crazy guy to wander it naked.

xolta - February 12, 2012 11:50 PM (GMT)
I heard a rumor that this one will take place in the old west.

taht was "piping hot" lol

Wortcov - February 13, 2012 11:33 AM (GMT)
nice one chup.

anyway, because I get the feeling that you guys didn't appreciated my opinion boiled down to its most basic form, I have given this some thought and the only thing I can add is that the first game being the second best swedish game, 5th best swedish horror of all media and the next to last worst game I have ever played, I doubt that they have changed the forumla in the sequel enough for it to beat that.

“THE EVIL MAY HIDE THE GREATER EVIL. BUT THE EVIL ALSO HIDES THE GREATER GOOD. THIS WORLD IS A MACHINE. A MACHINE FOR PIGS. FIT ONLY FOR THE SLAUGHTERING OF PIGS.”

Yeah, check the game's page again.

FILTHY_PEASANT - February 21, 2012 01:22 AM (GMT)
Confirmed slaughtered house imagery! Noice!

Pigmen. Yes. A thousand times yes.

Revereche - November 2, 2012 04:54 AM (GMT)
I really hope there aren't actual pigmen . . . =P That would kind of ruin the subtlety of the message.

From the trailer I'm pretty sure they're going to go the whole hog and have pigmen.

Revereche - November 2, 2012 07:06 PM (GMT)
I was hoping it would just be a regular pig. Those fuckers are dangerous.

Snackcakes McGee - November 2, 2012 09:38 PM (GMT)
Yeah, but that would be kind of boaring for people who go in expecting monsters.

so no differance to the first game? I can live with that.

Snackcakes McGee - November 2, 2012 10:00 PM (GMT)
I'm not saying they shouldn't make changes, I'm just saying that they've built up all this tension over what the monster looks like and it would be kind of a letdown if it turned out to be a "regular pig." Some sort of mutated boar is something I could hamdle, but not just a regular pig.

Jesus lizard - November 2, 2012 10:28 PM (GMT)
I myself am imagining a vat grown tumorous mass of pigs branching off of pigs.
forever.

Revereche - November 2, 2012 10:38 PM (GMT)
Well, I figured the pig would be mutilated or somesuch, a la Justine's antagonists.

Snackcakes McGee - November 2, 2012 10:46 PM (GMT)
Baconsidering the piles of mutilated pig corpses, what I really want to see is a writhing mass of stitched-together pig parts.

Because mutilated pigs aren't scary enough on their own?

Did you know that pigs number among the most intelligent animals, easily outpacing dogs?

Also interesting: once its gone feral, a pig becomes a wildly different animal - leaner, more aggressive, actually sporting a full coat of hair. Even the structure of its snout changes shape. Here in Florida, they've established a population that poses a significant danger in remote areas. If you've ever heard the term "cutting the tushes," that's when they remove the teeth of young pigs before they can grow into sabers.

Rasec Wizzlbang - November 3, 2012 08:40 AM (GMT)
Oh yeah, from everything I've seen and read wild pigs will fuck your shit up.

Cuttlefish Pistachio - November 3, 2012 02:50 PM (GMT)
When I was around eight or nine, my brother and I saw a wild pig nearly kill the neighbors dogs. They're absolutely terrifying.

scythemantis - November 3, 2012 05:28 PM (GMT)
Pigs are simultaneously adorable and the most unsettling uncanny-valley of all animals I can think of, there's always been a creepiness to them and they work beautifully in horror.

I am super excited for that. I really enjoyed Amnesia and while the monster design was limited (with regards to different types, but I keep in mind this was a smaller scale indie game), I found them perfectly disturbing especially considering the possible alchemical nature of their creation. They very much felt like something that *was* human and was still technically alive to some twisted degree.

And Alexander was so interesting and complicated; not evil, simply driven and indifferent. His indifference makes sense with regards to his alien nature. I am reminded quite a bit of the angel in "The Mysterious Stranger" by Mark Twain, by far my favorite story of his.
