Plot: Rico, a sleazy museum curator, steals a tribe's sacred dinosaur eggs in the rain forest. Frank is an archeologist and single parent, and eeks out a living by selling fossils from his farm to the museum. In a mixup, his kids bring home the eggs and hatch the miniature dinosaurs. Frank is falling in love with Vicki, who works for Rico, and finds his life complicated when the dinosaurs begin trashing his house, and Rico attempts to regain his treasure.

I have hundreds of Band films in my collection, yet I still haven't got around to watching this. Was going to save till I have tykes of my own. Regardless, has anyone seen it?

This is an okay show I guess, but I actually like Prehysteria! 3 the most of the trilogy. But Remote is my all time favorite from Moonbeam.

The dino FX in the first PREHYSTERIA are by David Allen and so naturally they are terrific. Mostly rod puppets with a little stop-motion but very fluid and lifelike movements and natural interaction with sets, props and actors.

It's a long time since I saw P3 so I can't comment and P2 is still on my shelf. P3 is most notable for someone eating 'haggis' - the character is obsesed with all things Scottish. Unfortunately absolutely no-one on the film knew, or bothered to find out, what haggis actually is. So instead of a sort of fat sausage (a haggis is a stuffed sheep's stomach) she eats a watery stew. It's unintentionally hilarious.

Yeah, he's worked with CB a number of times.

Do I even have to say it? I'd like Paramount to put this out on DVD. Here's an idea:

Widescreen Presentation
Original Trailer
Videozone (In its entirety)
Writers' Commentary
Poster included free w/Purchase

You'd think Paramount would've released the DVD by now. When the movie came out it was a hit, and a family film. What's Paramount worried about?

its just that this movie has so many fans like me. I just wont trash my vcr until Paramount releases it on DVD. Full Moon might release it as an Australian import, so Paramount may as well beat 'em to it.

I saw the 1st one first as a rental in 1998, then on Cinemax last summer. I saw the 2nd in 1999. The 3rd one I have, and it happens 2b my favorite in the series.

I haven't seen one of these movies since probably when they came out. We can only hope that some of the Moon Beam titles get released in an "import" box set soon. The Moon Beam movies did quite well on video (some/a lot better than Full Moon titles). I don't have any of the Prehysteria movies on VHS, but I have really been itching to watch them.

The Moonbeam titles are actually pretty slim and therefore would be easy to do a 'complete' boxset (or personal collection), as although highly popular at the time, the line happened close to when the Paramount split occurred, and after that CB continued the idea of a kids line under a new label.

Oh well, I own Magic In The Mirror, and it was not as good as the earlier Moonbeam productions. The titles just got weaker and weaker.

I seen this movie a long ass time ago. I remember it was one of the first films I rented back in the days of VCR. A nice family flick hampered by its less than average sequels. laugh.gif

Was that the same kid from Last Action Hero?

Yeah.

The only reason why the sequels were less than average was because the Taylors weren't in them

I finally saw this (I saw part 2 on HBO about 13 years ago). These days, I'm not a huge fan of kids movies, but this was actually really enjoyable.
