Never seen this movie. I've wanted to buy that DVD "Tomb of Terror" just to get this, even if it is the shortened version.

Naw, you really need the full version, as there is a good progression of tension in this flick. I didn't enjoy the mob aspect, but the creatures and their very simple motives (to eat you) really jibed with me. Stuart Gordon was originally going to direct this for Empire. Although he didn't, C. Courtney Joyner's direction actually feels very much like Stewey's style.

I heard about that. He made a name for himself with Lovecraft's writings.

I think Paramount should put this out on DVD. Here's an idea:

Full Screen Presentation (Since this is what they shot this in, I dont think widescreen will work, that goes for all others I have typed up)
Original Trailer
Videozone (In its entirety)
Director's Commentary
Audio Commentary by Stars Jon Finch, Blake Bailey, Ashley Laurence, Alison Mackie (Who Played Mrs. Marlowe) and Jeffrey Combs
Poster included free w/Purchase

Saw the trailer again on TRANCERS 5. Ashley Laurence is hot in this movie.

A trailer appears on my copy of Mandroid which lasts shorter than the regular trailer. I like it better too.

The teaser I guess, the one where the thing claws it's way out of a grave.

Watched this on Christmas day, which is strangely the same day the movie takes place on.

The only thing that made me upset about the movie was the quality (from FULL MOON CLASSICS VOL. 2). Really bad quality for an otherwise good movie.

i haven't bought any of charles band films from his site yet. but i do have "Puppet Master" & Retro' & i think there's one more i can't think of at the moment. but this may sound like i dunno a stupid thing to say. & we've talked about it MANY TIMES guys. why the fuck can't Charles Band remaster his film?

i know this film belongs to "Paramount" but the thing is he does the same shit that isn't part of that. he's like that to ALL his fucking films. from the money he makes from his selling these film on his site & all that merchandise ya would think he would fucking spend some of it on of course the budget for his next film. & to remaster his films as well! sorry i just had to say that.

Danny Draven said on the DEATHBED commentary that he found the CASTLE FREAK master in the trash. They may have thrown away all of the Paramount masters (maybe for legal reasons).

Paramount could still have some of the masters. But why would Full Moon throw away film masters from the Paramount Era films for legal reasons? Doesn't make any sense.

I think it comes down to money. Remastering the films could cost more money than he'll make back, or wants to spend. But taking Laser Disc (for example) and doing a slight restoration from that source could/would cost less money, and essentially makes more sense business wise. That's my opinion.

I don't know, it was the only thing I could think of. Makes as much sense as throwing away the master for any reason.

It does suck to hear about studios throwing away masters and whatnot.

i agree 100% guys. it's just fucking stupid that they would do that. buut i've heard films found in weirder places. some of the deleted shit that went into "Mad world" back in like (1991) was found in a condemmed building that they were going to tear down.

It's my understanding that for this film, Jon Finch's entire performance was re-looped by another actor. I have no idea what that means, so...

Oh, yeah. I swear some of the music had been reused from NIGHT OF THE DEMONS 2 as well (same composer).
