Title: LAST FOXTROT IN BURBANK
Description: Band's lost (unofficial) 1973 debut

Hi guys - thought I'd kick things off with LAST FOXTROT IN BURBANK (1973) - wasn't sure where to place it (perhaps you should consider a section covering CHARLES BAND PRODUCTIONS 1973-1983), but have two questions for y'all:
a) Has anyone actually seen this curio? (I've contacted many top movie collectors, many of whom claim the film is lost forever - but I refuse to believe that), and
B) Why does Band (aka 'Carlo Bokino') continue to deny his involvement with it? After all, his name has been on many a softcore film over the years (indeed, his CINDERELLA is considered one of his best productions out of his '70's output)...
... over to you. :)

i agree i'm NOT sure IF it's lost or not? read the review on the INDB & there's a guy who saw it back than in the theatre. IF I am NOT mistaken. i am ALSO curious to see this film as well. just MORE so out of curiosity & his other 70's stuff as well. B)

I know a private collector that claims to have it, but I was more interested in getting the rough-cut MPAA assembly (on Betamax, no less!) of BREEDERS off him.

Now THAT'S got my interest, FMW! What's the difference between that and the released film?

Just length of scenes longer at head and tail ends of each - less 'shored up' then final release.

No additional scenes or extra sex / gore, then?
Full Moon Wizard - January 13, 2007 09:08 PM (GMT)
Checked. Technically if you accept slightly longer head/tail ends of nudity scenes as "additional" but largely no.

Could be lost now. If a VHS even came out, that has got to be out-of-print and nowhere to be found.

if there was in fact an OOP VHS, I suppose either Wizard Video, MEDIA or even Vestron or IVE probably released it.

So it was a sexploitation film? I hate those. I would still like to see this though.

there's a website called "Rouge Cinema" & on it he did an interview by Duane L. Martin & he asked Band about the film. & Band said that's ONE film he'd Like to forget. & upon reading him say THAT i was thinking ONLY that one? the man's done a SHITLOAD of shitty movies through out the years. by his different company's. & he picks this one? hmm...? anwys in it he says he wasn't involved in the making of it. it's from i think (2004) cuz he states that "Puppetmaster" is 15 yrs. old. anywys, he said THAT he just helped a friend out with the finace of making it. & that's pretty much it. he did remark that on some places it's got him listed as producer on it. & from the article i don't think he even know why? he doesn't consider it part of his films he's made.
cause it's NOT in the genre that he normally does. "Mansion of the doomed' isn't it called" he said he considers his 1st film. anywys, i guess they rented a theatre that can fit like 900 people in it. & it's for the BIG PREMIRES"S normally & after awhle he got depressed cuz really nobody showed up. it was a film for free actually. anywys, soo he went home & told his buddy IF any GOOD news happens call me. soo his buddy went ok. soo he went home & the phone rang & it was his buddy. he goes how many showed uP? the guy said well got good news & bad news. the bad news is that ONLY 14 people
came to see this thing. & the good news is that john & yoko ono showed up! soo THAT's his fond & prolly ONLY good memory of that fim. it i guess lasted in the theatres for about a month or so. & than just really dissapred. i guess it literarlly dissappeared since really nobody's seen it since those
showings ya know? that's about all they talked about the film buut it's still a good read ya know? he also mentioned that in oh shit i forget the name of it? it was one of his doll films that was SUPPOSE to have dolls that were built like a hundred or so yrs. ago & he used CGI in it. buut ONLY on one doll who he tried to get to blink i guess. & he just felt it really was a flat character & it looked like shit & all that. soo he called a buddy of his uP that does CGI for a living. & they added the doll blinking in certain frames. i forget if he had to pay for it or not? buut that's all they used CGI For. he agrees with me really by saying that CGI does't HAVE to be used IN EVERY FUCKING movie ya know? just when it is needed & in small portions is how he used it. i just thought that ya guys who IF ya can't find this Great article than i'd just tell ya' s what' s in it. ya know?

Maybe that's why it's not listed on his Filmography.

And also probably why he hid behind the name "Carlo Bokino"

Charlie doesn't strike me as the kinda dude to turn down credit for ANYTHING.
stimpy - June 29, 2009 03:56 AM (GMT)
well maybe this was before he started doing that? or he didn't feel at the time he had any real involvement in it. i dunno. i do find it odd & funny that out of all the films he has done, this one he ignores & how many bad films has he done that he gladly wants credit for. i wonder if this film is a piece of shit of a film soo maybe that's why he feels that way? i am of course just guessing guys.
