I'm probably just gonna ask him about the songs I didn't get a chance to talk to Kirk about, so at least we'll have all of Lighting covered and most of the black album, if I stick with the 'shed some light on these songs' angle

Yeah, who cares. The story is to tie in with the Orion fest thing, so them playing those two albums is really the most noteworthy thing about it. Otherwise it is just shit like SO HOW ARE FESTIVAL CROWDS DIFFERENT FROM YOUR NORMAL CROWDS and HOW DID YOU PICK THE BANDS and boring crap

Thanks for including esoteric questions like the Founding Fathers references. It definitely makes the interview more interesting.

I think as a kid we studied Thomas Paine the same year I got into the black album, so it was always connected for me. Hetfield acted like he had no idea what I was talking about.

Working on my Lars interview now, just got back from the bar with Don Jamieson and Jim Florentine
