&&indepth;;
appearance;
It’s only in certain light that Tristan actually calls himself handsome. His deep chin and sharp glossy eyes makes his face appeared chiseled, but his just-a-bit-bigger-than-normal sized nose evens it out. For the most part though, he’s symmetrical. Each side of his face is the same as the other, a feature meant for the models and actors, but put on him just because.

As far as Tristan’ brown hair goes, it all depends on the day. Sometimes it will look longer and fall over his eyes just right, then others it’ll stick up and seem shorter. There isn’t much to this unpredictable style, except washing it about three times a week and getting a good night’s sleep with it wet.

His mouth and eyes were made for laughing and excitement. Since it is rare that Tristan ever stops talking, his thick British accent lays perfectly happy on every syllable. Though sadly, due to the addiction to smoking, his teeth have something to be desired. Those two grey eyes of his also never cease to showoff emotion. They laugh and cry just as any other facial expression.

personality;
There are three major sides of Tristan. The obvious one, addicted to smoking and lover of all things that get him high; the unfamiliar dork inside him; and the side that everyone enjoys and loves, his humorous side.

Children in seventh grade don’t normally smoke, but Tristan, thanks to his mother and father, began at that age. Ever since he’s been addicted, and miraculously, never caught. And now, in high school, it’s only gotten worst. Drugs like acid and marijuana have come into his reach, making that a part of a daily routine as well.

Now, this dorky side is the most mysterious one. It’s the monster inside him that forces him to read Shakespeare and Harry Potter, and watch shows like ‘Heroes’ and ‘The Tudors’. The creative side of him is part of this as well. Tristan doesn’t show his old peers his acting or filmmaking talent out of shame. He keeps it well hidden deep inside, not even his parents know his lust for some knowledge. Through in school his brains don’t show though as they could, Tristan has an exceptional mind inside his head.

Last, but certainly not least, is the side of Tristan everyone is memorized by. It’s his wit and cleverness makes him quick with funny comebacks and jokes, and while he’s not making them himself, Tristan is often seen throwing his head back in laughing rage; though his tainted teeth don’t make for the best smile.

history;
Two years after the birth of their first son, Johanna Mollison discovered that yet again, she would be put through the ups and downs of pregnancy. And after the screaming and pain of her second delivery she had another child to care for, Tristan.

The Mollison family was not poor, however simply middle class. Tristan and his brother Bret went to public school, not receiving any amount of special education. It wasn’t until middle school did Tristan take up any interest in film or acting. Since there were no particular programs in his school, all he could do was intermediate school plays. Mostly, he was the lead; Tony in ‘West Side Story’, Lysander in ‘Midsummer Night’s Dream’, and the narrator in ‘Our Town’. It wasn’t then that he got noticed by Aspenridge Academy though. It was in his freshman year in high school where he made for his school’s artist guild a short film called ‘Retrospective’ about a boy with extreme OCD. It got him excepted into artist guild but also a scholarship to Aspenridge Academy.

But that’s just his better side. Tristan wasn’t perfect when it came to choosing friends. Though it was his father that initially introduced him to smoking by doing it in front of him so often, it was Tristan’s middle school friends that got him into acid and marijuana. Since you can’t get addicted to neither marijuana nor can you acid if you don’t take frequent trips, Tristan was only addicted to cigarettes. The process to acquire them was costly; paying a hobo to go and get them plus paying for the pack itself. Tristan over looked that, stealing money from his parents and even friend’s parents if he could, any dollar Tristan saw was as good as his.

Tristan’s family never suspected anything. Even when once he didn’t come home for a week after being out with his friends for that long, smoking whatever they could get their hands on and taking extreme trips. It was on one of those trips that Tristan’s best friend at the time thought he had been lit on fire. It’s those cases that you here about when they drown themselves trying to put the imaginary fire out; luckily for them the closest source of water was a shallow fountain. But it was enough to get Tristan thinking.

Though it was funny at the time, he began to think what if that had been deeper water? He’d have lost his closest friend. That’s when he stopped the acid trips, but not smoking. He couldn’t. It was then that he realized how dependent he was on it. So far, after the two years spent at Aspenridge Academy, he’s managed to get his smoking down to one an hour, unless he is chain smoking. Every once and a while, he’ll have the courage, and the money, to by nicotine patches, but they never work or last.

QUOTE

There was no actually wind that had made Tristan’s hair look so windswept; it was just its natural state of being. But it could’ve been from the quick and steady pace he was walking at while trying to get to his dormitory. In his pocket lay a freshly unopened pack of cigarettes yearning for him to light up all of them, but he had to resist. At least he reached his room where he could smoke freely without getting caught. With the fire alarm dismantled, he had nothing to worry about except lung cancer.

Finally, after a long sprint up the stairs, Tristan practically slammed the door behind him shut causing the surprisingly loud bang to make him jump. But he had no time to care about it. Throwing his jacket onto the bed Tristan scrambled for his lighter and fresh pack, his hands struggling to remove the stubborn plastic about it. As soon as he felt the paper on his mouth, Tristan relaxed. It had been two straight day without one and he felt like he was dying.  Slowly, the paper at the end curved as it burnt filling the room was a familiar and welcoming odor that increased as he exhaled a puff of smoke into the air.

The reason he had somehow managed to go without cigarettes for forty two hours was he was trying to quit, he had been since he started, but nothing ever worked. The longest he’d ever lasted was a week with two nicotine patches a day, both of which hadn’t helped in the least bit. Though he knew it was his fault he got addicted in the first place, Tristan never admitted it. He blamed his parents who smoked too, and lead him to his first cigarette.

The blame game was a popular one between him and his family, started by his brother when he first didn’t get accepted to Lansdale, though Tristan did two years later. Tristan smiled wildly as he stuck another cigarette in his mouth and laid down on his bed, opening to a bookmark he’d jammed into Shakespeare’s ‘As You Like It’, and beginning to read. He considered himself one of the very few at Lansdale to actually read and understand Shakespeare on his own, no cheat books or translations. It was a rare gift among teenagers like himself, but he enjoyed it more then he should.
(a bit short, sorry)
