appearance; With her unique features, Lauren has never really seen a use for makeup. To this day, you will rarely see Lauren in makeup unless it is for a special occasion. A Swiss/German mix, she carries the typical blonde hair/blue eye gene.

Lauren dresses for comfort. She is usually spotted in jeans, hoodies, and converse. Fashion has never been a big thing for Lauren. She knows that people who like her respect her for who she is and not what she wears. Her hair is usually in a ponytail or messy bun. Lauren just doesn't see the point in dressing up to impress people. To her, that's what personalities are for.

personality; Lauren is very compassionate to the world around her. As a vegetarian, animal rights are very important to her. To her, the earth is everyone's property. She believes we should keep it clean and respect all creatures living in it as friends, not food. She likes to help out society in any way she can because she sees it as, if not us..then who?

Lauren has also been known to be a bit spontaneous and impulsive. She once brought a stray dog home and told her parents she was running away if the wouldn't let her keep it. Her parents, being the kind of people they are, welcomed the dog in the family right away. "Denny" the German Shephard has been part of the family ever since. But by far the most impulsive thing she has ever done was faking her age to get a tattoo. She woke up on day and decided "I think I'd like a tattoo" and four hours later, the word TRUTH sits on her wrist for eternity.

history; Born in New York's capital to congressman David Richards and Sunday school teacher Ruth Richards, Lauren lived a relatively comfortable lifestyle as a child. The youngest of three girls, Lauren was different than her sisters from day one. She never wanted to play with dolls or dress up in pretty costumes. Her parents also noticed that from an early age, Lauren would sit an watch Discovery Channel for hours, even at five. To Luaren, learning about animals and other important topics was more appealing than playing "house" with her sisters.

Lauren attended elementary school at the local public school, Lakeland Elementary. But after the first couple months, her parents could tell that the material that Lauren was learning was far too simple for her. Lauren needed a push, a challenge. So her parents decided to withdraw Lauren from public schools and enroll her to New York's leading charter school, Hamilton Academy. From then on, Lauren rode the two hour trek by bus to and from the prestigious school everyday, dressed in uniform. Lauren never minded the long hours on the bus. It was worth it to her. She loved school. Nothing made her happier than learning about new, interesting subjects.

The hardest obstacle Lauren had to face was when she turned 14. Lauren found out that her sister Heather had a cocaine addiction, among many other problems going on in her life. Lauren didn't realize how little she knew about her sisters until that moment. She later found out many secrets about her mysterious middle sister: the abortion, the abusive relationship, the cutting. Heather made her swear that she wouldn't tell anyone her secrets. But Lauren did just that. She went to her parents and told them everything. She wasn't trying to be a snitch, she had to. She loved her sister, and she was worried about her. She didn't want Heather to get hurt, and the path that Heather was going down was dangerous. The Richard family took action. They sent their middle daughter to a rehabilitation center for troubled teens in rural New York. To this day, Heather does not speak to Lauren. Heather will forever see Lauren as a traitor. Even though Lauren knew that it was for the best, she regrets ever telling her parents. She would do anything for a relationship with her middle sister. Heather now lives with a thirty year old in Buffalo, with a baby on the way. Lauren never sees her sister and will probably never meet her niece.

More than ever Lauren started putting everything she had into her studies. She managed to take first place in the science fair with her studies on mold growth. She eventually decided that she'd like to study to become a doctor when the time comes, and her goal is to successfully complete whatever she has to do to get there. When she informed her parents of her plan, they shared a plan of their own with her. Their plan involved a mega-prestigious school in Canada. Lauren was very excited about the idea. Not only was it a world famous school, it was a way for her parents to show that they trust her and that she was able to handle herself on her own. She was ready for this step in her life more than ever...She was ready to chase her dream.

..But there was one more thing she had to do. And that was the most spontaneous and impulsive of them all. A week before sending in her application to Aspenridge, she made a stop over to The Pain Gallery and walked out with the word TRUST on her left wrist. To her it symbolizes the trust she broke with her sister and the trust she's been given by her parents. Everyday she looks at this one word and realizes the importance of everyday decisions.

Here's a description of one of my characters from a different site.

QUOTE
Born in London England to an American Mother [Tabitha Moorehead-Fox] and English father [Hugh Fox], Joanna lived a rather comfortable childhood. Joanna's mother being a retired model and her father a renowned fashion photographer, the Fox family lived in an opulent Tudor home complete with maids, a chef, and a butler. Joanna herself was practically raised by Her nanny, Ophelia. Growing up in London, Ophelia was her only companion. She hardly knew her own parents, who were to busy being wrapped up in their own lives to realize they had a daughter.

This cushy lifestyle soon changed when Joanna's parents decided to be divorced. The ongoing custody battles sent Joanna in and out of courtrooms for almost two years. It was finally decided that eight year old Joanna was to live with her mother. What she was unaware of is that she would be leaving the only life she knew behind her life in wealthy London and her only friend, dear old Ophelia.

Joanna and her mother, Tabitha, relocated to Providence, Rhode Island, the town in which Tabitha grew up. And so began a life of sitting patiently in the finest country club in Providence while her mother poured herself endless glasses of wine while pouring herself over men. To pass the time away, Joanna would memorize the songs played over the speakers and sing along to them. No over ever really noticed she was doing this, they were all too busy being high class individuals to care or notice. As soon as the two would arrive back home, Joanna would immediately sit at the piano in their lakeside home and begin to play back the songs she heard that night. And she would start to sing. The first person to really hear Joanna's voice was Franchesca, the maid. She was carrying dishes from the dining room to the kitchen when she heard a song playing. She asked Joanna to turn the radio off. When Joanna replied that it was only her and the piano, Franchesca angrily flounced in to turn the radio off. She dropped the dishes as soon as she saw. At ten years old, Joanna had the voice of any classically trained opera singer. And she had never had any sort of musical lesson.

Franchesca was able to convince Tabitha that her daughter would benefit greatly from musical training. Tabitha had dollar signs in her eyes. With such a talented daughter, think of all the money she could make. She agreed to start her musical training immediately. Suddenly pre-adolescent Joanna was being taught by some of the greatest talents on the East Coast. And in many cases, her talent surpassed even some of her teachers.

When it came time to choose a high school for her daughter to attend, Tabitha instead chose a performing arts high school as opposed to the all-girl Christian academy that was formerly planned for her. Tabitha knew that her daughter HAD to become the best opera singer in the country. She knew that this was the only way to show her ex-husband how successful they could be without him and jealous this would make him that Joanna is what she is because of HER and not him. Thus began her higher level training in pursuit of becoming the greatest opera singer ever.
