Lisa Falkenstein (sp?) was the artist that officially took over with the publication of Darkest Hour. Before that she did do a few step backs here and there, I believe with the Casteel series which is a mixture of her work and Richard Newton who did Web of Dream step back and the step backs to the first four Cutler books.
Her work has at time mirrored other artists or to me at least and this is my opinion, she copied some details but gave them her own touch. And since she was the main step back artist until they started using the photos, she probably has the same models on hand to pose. But all the artwork posted, except for Seeds of Yesterday, are Lisa's artwork so that might be why some characters share a certain "look" about them. |

The photo with the redhead wearing a black dress and clutching her string of pearls is the stepback from "Willow". I always wondered why Dan Rather was staring at Willow.
 Also, I've heard that Willow's books are supposed to have taken place in the 2020's, but the characters look like they are wearing clothing and hairstyles that were popular in the 1980's or 1990's. I expected something more futuristic looking. |

I know that Grace's story took place in the time period of the 1990s from what I had learned. I never really liked the stepbacks down by Falkenstien as they all tended to look alike.

In the Willow stepback in the far right hand corner at the back it looks like a couple may be arguing . . . (behind Bunny and Asher)
