Who are Bill and Gene Andrews? How are they related to V.C. Andrews?

That makes some people wonder if she really did outline the Cutlers. Maybe, though, it was an idea they came up with as a tribute to her parents, after she was dead.

...or a plan to get us to set up forums so we could confuse ourselves by discussing which books she did and didn't write! JK

That does make me think she at least outlined them. It's been said there were series written later based on her notes. The question is, which ones?

Pics of VCA and Family

Amazing link I just found while googling to a Simon Says site, including pics of VCA as a child with her brothers. And she had an aunt named Mabel, so keep a look out for that name.

Actually the Cutler series was outlined by V.C. Andrews.

Remember the Lost Angels interview with Andrew Neiderman a few years ago? The GW backed out of answering questions about the Cutler series because he said they mostly came from the VCA files.

Of course an interview later he said, "there were no note/outlines left for him." That is was all his own work.

I think at one point it was mentioned that there were notes up to Logan series but that's debatable and I think the true answer to it rests with VCA. Although with writers and with her knowing the limited time she had left, she may have wrote out outlines and drafts for future novels. I know some writers that will jot random ideas down and go back to it later to turn into a story.

But in the paperback edition (or the one I have) of Web of Dreams it gives a preview of Dawn, Jimmy and Dawn are the same age as Cathy and Chris were in the start of FITA. And that little snippet was more detailed than the actual chapter of Dawn which always made me wonder if they edited it down before final publication of the novel. Just something else to puzzle over and makes little sense why they would do that.

It wouldn't necessarily have to be VCA who would have made Dawn 12. It might have been GW trying to mimic FITA. It's possible GW started with Dawn being 12, and then maybe they made her older so that it wouldn't be so weird for her to have a boyfriend. Twelve is quite young to have a boyfriend. Fourteen is a bit young too, but twelve is very young. And then there's the fact that Philip would have had to have been 16 to have a car. No way would Dawn have been in a car with a 16 year old boy on a date if she was 12. First of all, she probably never would have met this boy in school if she was only 12, and the idea of her going for a ride with him would have been too creepy. And I can't imagine her being able to get away with that. At the very least, Jimmy would have stopped it if she was only twelve. And a twelve year old probably would be too nervous to get in a car alone with a 16 year old. That may have been why they changed her age. The book begins with her moving and starting at a new school and meeting Philip. So it only makes sense for her to be 14 when the book begins. That's my theory.

I had friends who had boyfriends as young as 12 although more were just friends that were male as well as school girl crushes. Although didn't Dawn take place in the 50's sometime? I remember someone showing me this and it made total sense. I think 12 might be okay since girls got married younger and of course it could also be the GW showing how little he knows about girls. Of course something doesn't make sense maybe someone could clear this up. Philip is 16 (as e said he just got his licenses) which makes him a Jr. I think, in High School if Dawn in 12 wouldn't she be in 7th grade (thereabouts) I was thinking she was 14 (Freshman) when she went out with Philip.

Oh a little Dawn add on. I was reading the hardback copy of Twilight's Child and it said in the front,"Twilight's Child" is one of books taken from VCA notes left behind after her death. She might have outlined a few and the rest she just left maybe small summaries as well as outlines and unfinished manuscripts.
