--Background: Just like any other human, Kutsine was born and raised on a space station. Usually all babies are examined and they are sorted by future profession depending on their physiological make-up. Some babies are selected to be doctors at birth and others are selected to be store clerks on the space station. In Kutsine's case, she was selected to be part of the military.

She had been trained in military tactics since birth. Not only was she trained, she was genetically modified to become a super soldier. Her agility, strength, intelligence, sight, smell, etc, were all heightened. Genetically modified humans beings are marked with a bar code on the back of their necks, and their eyes are much brighter than a normal human's eyes would be.

It was because she is a super soldier and because she excelled in any task given that she was selected to be one of the guards for the expedition that was sent down to earth. She was given the task to guard and protect the scientists and few civilians that went down to the planet to assess is the planet was fit for human survival.
