AfterLight is a text-based role-playing game that is a mixture of both science fiction and fantasy. This means that both high-tech technologies exist alongside dragons and fairies. AfterLight is not quite a free-from RPG. There are a few guidelines that should be followed. There is not, however, a rigid structure such as a points system in place. With that said, there are no major plots put into place that members HAVE to follow. There is the history of AfterLight that MUST be considered, but members are allowed to create their own mini-plots and side stories. Members can even create a major plot if they wish!
AfterLight allows you to create your own species, races, classes, and characters! Any member is allowed to contribute to the story in anyway. This includes adding diseases, terminology, people, places, and much more.
Koturotu Formerly North America. This continent is covered in lush jungle that is so thick, it is nearly impossible to navigate. Floral dominates this area and what little fauna exists in the region is preyed upon by carnivorous plant life. There are even plants here that appear human/humanoid and are also sentient.

Salir Formerly South America. Salir has a lush to moderate climate. Trees and plants are great in number, but they are not nearly as thick as they are on Koturotu. Flora and Fauna coexist here and depend heavily on each other for survival. Some area's are thick with forests and other areas of the landscape are merely dotted with trees. There are less and less trees as one travels south and the hotter it gets.
Fandu Formerly Antarctica. This entire continent is one vast desert, covered in rolling dunes and hard cracked earth. The creatures here are highly adapted to the heat and most native creatures would freeze to death anywhere else.

Nglava Formerly Africa. This continent is nothing but flat plains and soft rolling hills. Because it is so flat the fauna here has evolved to be tall and leggy. Trees are present, but they are few and far between.

Vagoroth A new continent, resulting from an incredibly large earth quake that nearly sank the former South America. This continent rests between the former South America and the former Australia. This highly volcanic continent that is about the size of the former Australia, is a very dark place. A violent swirling clouds looms over the entire continent, blocking out the sun.

Sandothero Formerly Europe. This continent is mostly comprised of wetlands, swamps, and bogs. Most of the flora and fauna here are rather nasty creatures. Most try to avoid Sandothero if at all possible.
Omikao Formerly Asia. This continent is covered completely in mountains. Some of the mountains are lush, and others are barren, unable to sustain life.
Aeyi Islands Formerly Australia. Most of Austraila broke apart and sank when Vagoroth rose from the oceans. The only thing that remains is a cluster of islands that resemble the former Hawaiian climate.
