So, these are the official rules of all time on the site. And seriously, if you don't read these, you might have some difficulties with your life, so I'd suggest you take a glance. Most of it is just common sense and courtesy, but a reminder never hurt anyone! We can't just have anarchy, after all.

REGISTERING

• Here at FLC we would like it if you registered with your character's first, middle, and last name in all uppercase. That means jimmy oliver stewart instead of JIMBOB, YO! or IHEARTEDWARD<33!!!!!11!111. If you mess up, PM an admin and we'd love to change it for you.

• Currently, you can have 5 characters at a time, but you must try to keep them all active. All characters must have at least 50 posts before you're allowed to make a 6th character and must all have been active at least 2 weeks prior. If you dont & register a 6th character anyways, that character will be put on Validation until you do. This is due to be changed at the admin's discretion.

• When making your application, just remember that nobody's perfect. We don't want any Mary-Sues or Gary-Stues running around the board being all beautiful, smart, nice, athletic, rich, etc. You will be asked to add flaws to your application if you are too MarySue/GaryStu. On the other hand, don't just apply with complete basketcase kids. Relatively normal = prime.

• Please don't have your face claims be too old for your character. If you're making a sex-whore character and feel Angelina Jolie would be good for the character, despite the fact your characters a Freshman, we'll ask you to change it. There's tons of actors/singers/models who'd fit the role, too.


IC RULES

• Please avoid chat speak. It is incredibly irritating as a RPer to try deciphering it and it just makes much more sense to write as though you are literate. Which you probably are.
EX:
Bad: jimmy fcuking pwned bob *lol* & his m8s loled more.
Good: Jimmy punched Bob with all the strength he could muster, his body ravished with anger. As soon as his fist connected with Bob's stomach, he let out a sinister chuckle. His baboon-like friends who watched on eagerly laughed too, only following their leader.

And now you have created a decent post. xD

• NO, PLEASE NO GODMODING!!!
EX: [if you are playing Jimmy]
Bad: Jimmy yelled at Bob, and Bob's eyes welled up with tears.
Good: Jimmy yelled at Bob menacingly, hoping to evoke some emotion from the other boy.

This is only okay if you have gotten permission from the other person in a thread, say, for example, that they aren't going to be around to post for a while, or the character is really unable to do anything at the current moment [being unconscious or something similar].

• Death to the one-liner. Detail = Love. Or maybe that's just me. Here at BEL, the staff expects at least one decent-sized paragraphs (4+ sentences). If you just think of your five senses and what is going on in your character's head at the certain point in time, you can probably get much more than that. We encourage you to write as much as you want, but remember quality not quantity!

• TEACHERS CANNOT START CLASSES. They can say they're a teacher at Cashmere Academy but they cannot start or be in a thread that has to do with a class. And only one teacher per person.

• We staff have no problem with you using colour in your posts, but please try to keep the font size readable. It's hard to go find a microscope to read what someone has written. xD

• Let's not nag people to RP with us or post, mmkay? We all have lives out of here, and it can be really irritating. If another member is harassing you about this, please PM a staff member with photographic evidence [the print screen key is your friend].

• The rating of le board is PG13. Swearing is tolerated, but please don't have a shitload of "fucks" everywhere, because those little stars can get a bit annoying. Haha. If there's anything more than making out in a thread, please mark that it is Mature somewhere in the title. And, you know ... fading out for sex is always more pleasant than actually reading about it. It also breaches Invisionfree's terms, and the board can get shut down if you get too carried away. WE DON'T WANT THAT, DO WE?

• When we're RPing can we please make sure that we write in third person, past tense? It keeps things consistent because jumping between tenses is really odd to read.

OOC RULES

• R-E-S-P-E-C-T! FIND OUT WHAT IT MEANS TO ME! This is the most important rule on the entire board. Let's not go pick fights because you think Panic at the Disco is better than Fall Out Boy. Just use your common sense, buds. We're all here to get away from the stress of real life, so we don't need the stress transferring into our peace zone. Pick flowers not fights. If another member and you are having a hard time getting along, please just keep it between yourselves. If things get really out of hand, contact the staff and we'll try to sort things out.

• Just advertise in the ad. forum. Don't spam the board because it makes us admins sort of mad.

• Don't be intimidated by the admins and g-mods. We're here to help you, and if you've joined, we pretty much love you for thinking this board is good enough to devote your free time to. Don't hesitate to ask us any questions or prod or poke us in any way. We love food, too. =) But seriously. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, hate mail, whatever, send it our way and we'll do our best to help you out.
