Milton was not in a good mood today, his mom had bitched at him for going through her books and making a mess and his dad yelled at him to 'act normal'. So he did as any kid would do, stick out his tongue and slam the door after leaving the house.

Now he sat at the lake bored as hell becuase he forgot his Ipod and video game for rushing out so fast. He now wishe dhe would have at least endured their yelling long enough to go to his room and grab some snacks and stuff. But no, he ahd to be tempered and run out like a fool. Ah well, at least he wasn't in trouble... for now. Sure when he got home he'd get it for 'mouthing off' and slamming the door but he would deal with that later. Right now he needed time to cool off.

A few kids passed in front of him as he was gazing out to the lake. He swatted at them to move and when they finally did, the ducks he had been looking at were gone as well. He kicked at a rock on the ground causing it to fly across the lake. So much for cooling off! How could you when all was against you!?

Buffy had just got a letter from her father tellling her to stay out of trouble or else. Well that didn't go to good with Buffy so she tore up the letter and headed out of her dorm. She told her roommates she would be back in a little while.

Buffy wanted to be alone and think about the damn letter from her father. He wanted her to be like him but she didn't want that life for her and she was going to fight him every step of the way. There was no way in hell she was letting him send her to military school. As she walked she had her hands behind her back, she knew she was going to the lake. When she got to the lake she sat down and sighed a little. As she sat there she noticed a boy there and he looked pissed about something.

Buffy looked around trying to see if there was anyone she could talk to and not get into a fight right now because the mood she was in she knew she would hit someone and then have to deal with her father again. "Stupid parents." she said as she tossed a rock on the ground.

He sat and watched the lake's water running around. It just couldn't keep still with the wind blowing and that's exactly how Milton felt. He couldn't live peacefully with his parents nagging him to 'grow up' or 'act right'. What if the way he acted was actually right and they were wrong?

Stupid parents He was so mad at everything that he hadn't even heard the girl walk up and sit by him. He turned to face her and nodded, "You can say that again" he picked up another rock and threw it angrily into the water. "They think they can just run over your life and everything's fine." he tossed another one in even harder this time.

Buffy looked over at the boy and nodded to him. " My father is still wanting to send me to military school and I refuse to go, I mean I haven't got into any trouble at this school." she said as she picked up another rock and looked at it closely before throwing it. "Why don't they listen to us for once in their lives?" Buffy asked the boy.

Buffy was so mad at her dad right now but what could she do. As she sat there she started to think about some things and she was going to make her dreams come true no matter what the cost. "You know my parents want me to join the army but I don't want to. All I really want to do is graduate high school,go to college and make something out of my life and the army isn't in my future." she told him as she shook her head.

Buffy was so worried about her problems with her dad she almost forgot to tell the boy her name. "I'm Buffy." she said as she got in her shirt pocket and pulled out some gum and offered him some.

Why don't they listen to us for once in their lives He shook his head , "I don't get it either. They were young once, they know how it is. " he was so upset. He buried his face in the palms of his hands and groaned. Why did older people have to try and run everything. His head shot up as she spoke of her dad wanting to send her to the army. "WHAT! NO WAY! That's freakin shitty dude!! If you're doing good here, then why send you away again!?" his eyes were wide as could be as he spoke. "That's why we rebel! They won't leave us alone!"

He took the gum and smiled, "I'm Milton. I think I've seen you around the school before. You play Volleyball or something right?" he watched her closely, feeling suddenly happy she was there with him to share in his agony. She wasn't bad looking either. "You know what Buffy, let's ditch this place today. Wanna go get some food? I''m hungry. We can take the bus over to Queens or something. If you want that is." he smiled hopefully. Something about her was comforting and he felt like she would be a pretty good friend.

Buffy looked at Milton when she heard him groan and she giggled at him. She stopped laughing when she heard his reaction to what she told him about her dad and the army. “I know it is and I guess it is a way for me not to have any friends at all. I like this school and the people here too and I don’t wanna miss seeing any of my friends.” she told him with a smile. “I am good at being a rebel and I will make my father listen to me.”

She smiled at him “I like your name Milton. Yeah I play volleyball and I take my anger out on the ball when my dad is being a pain.” she said as they talked and her ears perked up when he mentioned food and ditching this place today. “That sounds like a plan going to get food in Queens will be fun.” she said as she started to grin at Milton. He was cute and was happy she sat next to him. She would like to get to know him better and who knows what could happen. This day was getting better than when it started.

"Thanks! I like your name to. It's got that kinda 'rebel' ring to it. Buffy he said chuckling. "And you spike that ball right in his eye! Maybe then he'll understand you mean business!" He looked around the park quickly. Everyone seemed to be heading in since it was getting late. But they now had a mission since she said yes.

Milton smiled and grabbed her hand as he sprinted off in a run. "We're taking the bus. I don't have much cash so we can't take a cab and walking would take daaaays!" His feet rushed over to the nearest bus stop where they stood waiting for the next one to arrive. "Hell.. we might have to wait like half an hour. I think it passes at six." He looked to his wrist where his watch usually was and frowned. Of course, he left it with his ipod and snacks. His stomach growled loudly under his shirt. Why couldnt the bus be there NOW!

"Yeah next time I see him he is not going to be giving me orders, instead he is going to listen." Buffy said with a grin. Ah the day she would get to tell her father off would be great day in history for her. Milton said he liked her name and that also made her smile. No one had ever told her they liked her name before.

She laughed when he grabbed her hand and started running toward the bus stop. "You want a cab then a cab you shall have." Buffy told him as she stepped out and flagged down the next cab and looked over at Milton grinning as the cab stopped not far from where she stood. The cabbie said she was crazy for standing in the street like that. "Shall we go eat now cause I am hungry for some really tasty food.? she asked him with a grin on her face. "And by the sound of your stomach you could use some food yourself." Buffy said with a laugh. Buffy was having fun with Milton and she hoped the day wouldn't end soon because she didn't want to go back to school just yet.
