the upper east side of manhattan, new york consists of many penthouses and large townhouses inhabited by those you hear of in tabloid magazines, or you see at all those parties you can't get into. dare to dream for those of us who can't afford even half of the rent for these homes. unless you have some kind of 'in' with one of these upper east siders, keep your imagination rolling because you'll never see the inside unless you're hired for construction.

townhomes.
these are basically multi-story apartments, very similar to brownstones, although a bit more spaced out. these are also more expensive than their more cramped counterparts, and that is evident in the decor and taste of those who live here.

these are more cramped than a townhome, yet historic and kind of cozy. if you live here, you're well-off, but not rich, and usually you don't have friends from school over. after all, they're probably wealthier than you and not having to live in a house like this.

wow, very few people on the upper east side live in these. they usually have some fancy name, like loft or suite, but they're much nicer than these. but let's remember those scholarship students who have come to the east side through someone else's pocket, hence living here.

a private prep school strictly for boys coming of age. if your parents have money and you drive around in a limo, this is where you'll likely go for your education. a very well known school with very well educated professors, here at constance every boy must follow a strict code of conduct, along with a dress code.

constance billard school for girls is a small, elite, all-girls school located at 93rd and madison avenue. many come here mainly because their parents have money, some choose to because of scholarships. a very well known school with very well educated professors, here at constance every girl must follow a strict code of conduct, along with a dress code.

the air is always fresher, and the ground is always cleaner in the upper east side of new york city. that's the way it goes, right? after all, the rich and famous don't walk among the poor and homeless - and the rats.

well, it's not east, and it's not west. so, it's in the middle, hence the name 'midtown'. you can find quite a good few uniting spots between the two communities, but don't expect upper east siders and upper west siders to be holding hands. at least publicly.
