welcome.

In a world filled with smog and broken dreams, a menace far more dangerous than the mere human could comprehend has finally come out of hiding. It's the year 2022, and now that the United Kingdom has become isolated from the rest of the world, it's literally a place where the principles of "kill or be killed", "eat or be eaten" apply all too well.

VAMPIRES.
Unlike popular belief, the vampires are not dead, or undead. No one knows how long they have tread the world, or how long they have been in hiding. These creatures still retain a heartbeat with blood flowing through their thin veins, their skin warm yet slightly chilled compared to a normal humans. They feed on blood or raw meat (flesh) which usually gives them to energy to control their telepathic abilities. Vampires are very sensitive to the light, but only up to a certain age. Before the age of sixteen, vampires are capable of walking in direct sunlight with only minor, very minor burns. They are so small that the vampires hardly feel them. As they age, the risk of getting burned increases, but before sixteen, they are generally safe. However, it is after sixteen that the risk of being killed by the sun rises. Vampires are capable of walking through the sunlight after sixteen, but only at a limited amount. Using the shade, vampires can get away with minor burns and bruises that heal excessively fast depending on the degree of the burn. Although, if they remain in direct sunlight from up to thirty minutes to an hour, the vampires are more likely to be severely burned or even die. The burns leave permanent scars upon their skin. Despite this issue with the sun, Vampires are generally very strong as well as very fast. It is difficult to kill a vampire, but it is possible.

It's never about garlic, or a stake through the heart, or crosses. This is a whole new breed of vampire. The real vampire.

    the de LUERA

No one knows how long they had been around. Not even the wolves. It's only assumed that they have walked among the humans for far too long; until their motives were suppressed and their civility had increased. If they had ever killed, their methods were always systematic and precise. They never left a drop of blood behind; never left a trail for the humans to brood over. No one could just choose to enter the coven. The people were chosen. Membership was almost exclusive. The de Luera had spent so much time among the humans that their only priority was keeping their secret hidden. The members have a much stronger bond with each other than most. The entire coven could be seen as a large extended family. Their powers are immense and perfectly executed; their strength and speed can't be matched. The de Luera can hear the others' thoughts, but that ability only seems to span to their coven only. The de Luera don't have many enemies besides rival covens, and of course, the wolves.

    the VALERIO

The de Luera would vomit in their mouths if they ever had to interact with the Valerio. Their history isn't exact, but it is known that they immigrated from Italy. They have a more brutal demeanor than the de Luera. Their tactic generally involves brute strength, however, they are so cunnining that it's nearly impossible for anyone else to predict their next move. To the other covens and the rogue creatures, they are generally known as the "Night Walkers". While the de Luera prefer to travel at night, they have taken to walking among the light. The Valerio have mastered the shadows and truly rule the streets. Unlike the de Luera, the Valerio are less of a "family" unit and more of a large group forced together by one thing: hunger. It is common for them to fight or to kill one of their own. It is perhaps why they are for more dangerous, considering that they don't even have respect for their own kind. Even the de Luera try to avoid them as much as possible.

    the ROGUES

If there is anything more vicious than the Valerio, it is the rogue vampire. Even within a coven, a vampire must learn how to follow a set of rules and to cooperate properly. But a rogue, they have no rules or leader. To them, anything is fair game. Their tactics are quite the same, but that doesn't mean they will play nicely. It is much harder to control a rogue vampire. The members of the two covens hardly communicate with a rogue unless they are civil enough.
.

LYCANS.
    the HALDANE

Unlike the vampires, there is only one main pack of Lycans. The origins of the Haldane are rooted in northern Scotland, but it's more than likely that other rogues entered the back from the other countries as well. The Lycans are a rare breed, but the size of the pack is too enormous to consider them rare. The vampires aren't even sure how many reside within the U.K., but they aren't taking their chances to find out. The Lycans can be civilized and reasonable like the de Luera, or they can be as vicious and uncompromising as the Valerio. Whatever it is, they act together as a unit. The pack is perhaps so close that they also can sense each other's thoughts and movements from miles away. They are incredibly strong, even in their human form. It is very hard to kill a lycan, for their massiveness is almost impossible to penetrate. They aren't as fast as the vampires, but for their size, it is amazing. They are perfectly agile and balanced. And one important thing is that they shift at will. When younger, it is much harder to control (especially with their cravings), but over time, it is much easier to handle. They are mortal enemies with the vampires, and more than often, the lycans hunt the vampires for a little sport.

    the ROGUES

Rogue Lycans are perhaps just as or even more dangerous than a rogue vampire. Their instincts are what drive them, and with if they lack any sort of self-control, a rogue lycan can take out an entire city. Because of their strength, the rogues hardly leave their victims alive. They follow no one and are even harder to control than the vampires. The Haldanes are perhaps more willing to communicate with a rogue, but only at a cost.
HYBRIDS & HALF BREEDS.
They are the outcasted. The vampires nor the lycans will accept a halfbreed or a hybrid. They view them as tainted vermin who are more trouble than they are worth. The hybrids are generally the result of a violent, or forced communion between the vampire and lycan, which is so rare that some even think that he hybrids are only legend. Ironically, hybrids are weaker than expected. They do possess both the skills and the strength of the lycan and vampire, but unless they can utilize it correctly, they are at a clear disadvantage. The hybrids are also in constant pain. It has never been understood why, but it can only be described as like a internal fire within their body. They do, however, have abilities that neither race possess. Hybrids are telepathic as well as telekinetic. They are faster than both the lycan and the vampire. They will at times band together because there are so little of them, but the hybrids generally tend to stay alone due to their lack of self control.

The half breeds are just as outcasted as the hybrids. They can't adjust to either the human (but they generally stay within the human world) nor the creature world, and it's even harder to control their part transformations. Because they don't share the full blood of the creatures they were birthed from, the half breeds aren't capable of reaching a full transformation. However, they still retain some qualities of a vampire or a lycan, while they bodies only adjust slightly to a sort of mutated version of the two races. Unlike the hybrids, half breeds are a bit more civilized; which is why they tend to remain in their human world to avoid associating with the creatures inside of them. However, it doesn't keep them from craving the blood they truly desire. Like the hybrids, they are in constant pain, but sometimes it stems from an emotional source than physical. They are probably the weakest (while being strong at the same time), and sometimes when changed, they don't last for the first few months (either due to be killed or their bodies are too weak). When they are fully grown and in control of their abilities, half breeds are very quick and agile. Their strength isn't as great as either the hybrid, the lycan, or the vampire, but they make up for it in their wit. They are capable of fending for themselves and can be matched against a full-blooded lycan or vampire. Some half breeds even become hunters if it comes down to it.

The pain that halfbreeds have is nothing compared to that of the hybrid. Halfbreeds experience more of an emotional distress because they do not know much about the underworld that is part of their being. Many are seen as depressed, narcotic, or bipolar, but they do have physical pain that is like having one’s skull beneath a car. The pressure of the tainted blood clash immensely and can make halfbreeds delusional and lash out slightly when in pain. The pain does die off within a few minutes, lucky them, and occurs through out the day. Mainly, halfbreeds deal with the attacks five or six times a day on average, but some are lucky enough to get four, while others can be damned with eight of more.

As for the hybrids, the pain is far more complicated than that of a halfbreed. Hybrids have both physical and emotional stress that can practically decompose their bodies. The only reason hybrids have not died from the immense pain is because the strength from the blood of a lycan and a vampire have made the hybrids immune system far stronger than any other creature. The pain consists of cardiac arrests, seizures, as well as aneurisms. If any other creature were to be in this kind of agony, they would die by the second attack, if not the first blow. Also, they have intense psychological damage due to their imbalance of hormones in their genes and their unstable emotions due to their lack of socializing and lack of affection. They become quite distraught, like Anti-social behavior, and do rash things and lash out at nearly anyone, using their telekinesis without even acknowledging their powers being used. Their organs have regenerating powers that keep their bodies from completely melting down from the over produced acid that engulf their intestines, stomach, lungs, heart and brain. Most hybrids collapse, spewing bodily fluids and sometimes even get knocked out, waking up to the next attack. The attacks are far more frequent, occurring every other hour, if not every hour. Also, there are smaller attacks, much like the halfbreeds that occur for the hybrids between major attacks. This is the cursed life, it’s not pretty.

HUNTERS
While most of the humans are unaware of the vampires or the lycans' existence, there are the number of humans that do. They are the hunters, the only ones who aren't oblivious to the reasons behind the number of murders that are taking the place in the war ravaged Britain. The hunters are either fueled by the belief that these creatures exist or by actual experiences. Even though they are human, the hunters are abnormally fast and capable. They know most of the weaknesses that the vampires and the lycans possess, and tend to create weapons that are equipped to focus on those weaknesses. Most hunters are incredibly agile and intelligent, and they usually work alone. It's for for a group of hunters to work together, but if they do, it's generally in small numbers. They are still completely vulnerable; however, Hunters are smart enough to know how to protect themselves until it's no longer possible.

HUMANS
They know nothing of the other races, or at least, they aren't aware enough to truly consider what is going on. The humans are still trying to live with the number of riots and the military constantly on watch since Victor Falkland had escaped. To them, the murders are simply the act of the residential gangs that were created during the riots and still continue to thrive since military involvement is so low. Vampires and Werewolves are still myth in their world, at least, until it's too late.
PETS.
Pets are generally human, although even the vampires or the lycans can have pets that are of their own race or others. They are usually "branded" in a way, either by some marking or with a bite. They belong to one person and one person only, and often the pets will do the whim no matter how dangerous or ridiculous it is. The pets are usually forced into their servitude, but sometimes it can be voluntary. It is common for a pet to willingly give his or her freedom away all for the sake of love or infatuation. Pets are used for sex or to fulfill some sort of desire. Although, Lycans generally love to use their pets for 'combative sports' or like death matches. It is generally for entertainment purpose. When the owner becomes too bored, the pet is usually disposed of. They are rarely set free, but if so, it isn't likely that the pet will go willingly. After a lifetime of servitude, why would you?
