Oh, well, thank you, ha ha, and hello. My name is Julian Anton Chevalier. My family has a long French lineage and they certainly don’t want any child to forget it when they name them. Some close friends call me Jule or Jules. My mother will occasionally call me “Juju-bean” like she did when I was little, but that’s only when my father isn’t around. I mean they’re both pretty rigid about propriety and all, but mom is more likely to slip up on occasion. Of course, being called Juju-bean at 19 years old is a little silly I guess, so I can see why my father isn’t too keen on that. I don’t really mind the nickname though; having to be proper all the time definitely gets tiring.
” so just what kind of things are you into? "
I think I have a list of things I’m supposed to say in interviews… but I can never remember them all so, if you keep it between us, I’ll just tell you the truth. I love to read! Not the history and boring things my parents would like though; I much prefer fiction and fantasy! I’m always under such strict rules, so I love to live vicariously through others in novels and video games. I definitely daydream a lot. Sparkly things are fun; they always catch my eye, ha ha! I like to shop, and my parents think that’s a safe enough hobby so I’m usually allowed to do that whenever, only with a bodyguard or entourage though, of course. I like to paint and draw. Oh! Flowers! I LOVE flowers! Flying through gardens is one of my favorite things to do! I always keep loads of flower-scented candles lit in my room too! It helps me feel like I’m not so trapped under my parents… If you promise to ABSOLUTELY keep this secret though, I’ll tell you… I love to dance! My favorite thing lately is to sneak out and hit the local night scene! There are often a lot of Serpents there though, so I always go with a couple of friends to be safe, but so far nothing bad has happened!
” geeze is there anything you don't like?”
Singing! Oh wait… that was supposed to be at the top of the list for things I “like” according to my family’s pre-written answers they give me, but I don’t care! I am so tired of having to sing for everyone! Of course my family is noted for a long line of particularly beautiful voices, we’re all warblers, but I am so tired of being paraded around by them like some silly little songbird! Oh! Please don’t publish this anywhere! My father will MURDER me! Of course being the youngest of three, I’m not really a contender for the crown, but still, the family image is important. What were we talking about? Oh dislikes! Yes, singing, so tired of that! Serpents, obviously I don’t like them. The color red, I’m not a fan. Dull colors, I don’t like those either. Small spaces wig me out! I feel like I’m in a cage, and that is NO fun! You know what I REALLY can’t stand though? Rudeness and a lack of manners!
”kay lets get to the good stuff! what are you afraid of?”
Good stuff? How is what scares me a good thing? Well, I think my father would probably want me to go on some long discussion about “fear itself”, so just keep this between us, ok? I’m actually really afraid of cats… is that weird? Thunder and lightning definitely gets to me too! The worst things though are clowns and bugs!!! Oh my gosh, I can’t even handle either of those!

I love those books! Let’s see, I haven’t really thought much of that before. If I close my eyes I imagine smelling camellias and fresh baked cupcakes, then… coffee… motor oil … cigarettes. Who smells like those last things? Oh I’m not telling! Ha ha!

You mean you don’t know who I am? His royal highness, Prince Julian Anton Chevalier? Youngest son and pride and joy of the Chevalier line? Seriously, do you live under a rock? My family makes me sing at almost every royal function! Well, whatever. Yes I’m a Chevalier, one of the Avian royal families. I’m the youngest of the royal crown, with two older siblings. The entire bloodline shapeshifts into a type of warbler, which is why we’re so noted for our singing voices. Myself? I shapeshift into a Cerulean Warbler.
” oh my i just noticed how exotic you look! does it run in the family?”
Well I take after my mother’s side, along with my older sister! Same as my grandmother too. We’ve all got the French, bright blonde hair , light blue eyes and petite frames. You see my grandmother is directly from France and moved here to Dawning, Canada as part of an arranged marriage. My older brother takes after my dad’s side of the family though with darker hair and darker eyes.
