DOXOLOGY RULES & REGULATIONS

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

All must rules must be adhered to once you have registered your account. Any violations of these rules will result in the appropriate consequences. First violations will result in a warning, but further violations will result in the taking away of posting privaleges. However, we trust that you will be a good apple; but we must send the point across that the rules are important and nobody has any exception to the rule.

“License and registration, please.”
registration guidelines.
one. Upon registration, we ask that you have a correctly capitalized username and a working e-mail address. For your username, please only register with your character’s first and last name. Please do not use any numbers or any other special characters in your username. This includes but is not limited to: asterisks, pluses, brackets, periods, etc. Your gut instinct will usually tell you that if this is a role-playing site, the username ‘thks fr th mmrs’ or ‘harrypotterluvr719’ would not be appropriate.

two. It is important that within the first week of registration that you have your application completed. As an experienced administrator, nine chances out of ten when someone doesn’t finish their application within the first week, they probably won’t ever come back to finish it, which means it wasn’t worth the time to even register. Logically speaking, if you register on a site, it is common to actually be an active part of it. Hit-and-runs are not welcomed. So please, make sure that if you register, please be an active part of the site and get the application done within the first week. Once you have that process finished, everything should be downhill from there.

three. Do not post anywhere else besides the admissions forum until after your application has been accepted and you have been placed into your respective member group.

four. For now, one person will only be able to play four characters at a time. Most instances people can hardly handle more than one character, but for those who can, four is your limit. We also ask that at least two of the four characters be males, as there usually is a shortage of males on role playing forums.

five. Respect is an integral part of the site. There is absolutely no tolerance for disrespect, regardless of denomination, age, gender, or any of that. Remember, ‘love thy neighbor.’
“E is for ‘elaborating.’”
role playing guidelines.
six. Doxology is meant for any roleplayer. As a result, we do not have a set minimum post length requirement. All we as is that you write to the best of your ability and be as detailed as you can without overcompensating.

seven. Of course, despite doxology being a Christian roleplaying forum, high school is still high school. Sensitive content is allowed, but I trust that you won’t get carried away with it.

eight. Pregnancies or death will be allowed to happen only within reason. However, pregnancies for townies or teachers will be much more lenient than with the actual students. Yes, pre-adulthood pregnancies happen, but not all the time. On death, this will only happen if it is okayed by the puppeteer whose character dies, but how they die will have to be approved within reason.

nine. Power-playing (also known as god-modding) is not allowed. Role playing isn’t fun when someone else is controlling your character. Of course, for you seasoned role players, this has been the mode of all rules, so we are sure you won’t go against us.

ten. Posts must have few errors and correct punctuation and spelling. Posts that lack one or even all three of the list are difficult to read, and nevertheless, difficult to respond to. If English is not your first language, or if you aren't the best at spelling, a spell checker built in your friendly word processor will usually do the trick.

eleven. Please, no perfect characters. The only person that was ever perfect was Christ. Although Christianity does call for a higher standard, that does not mean that your characters are perfect. What we are trying to get at is to incorporate how spirituality also plays a major role into characters. So to sum it all up, perfect characters are not reccomended.
“Lovely pictures, they are.”
graphics guidelines.
twelve. We ask that every member have a graphic set of their own character. This is for the sake of visual representation of each character on the board. If you are in need of a graphics set, you can request one in the graphics section of the out of character section of the site.

thirteen. The maximum dimensions of graphics are 150x150 for avatars and 500 x 200 for signatures. Icons larger than 100 x 100 are acceptable as long as they do not exceed 200 pixels in width or height.

fourteen. A maximum of four icons in a signature is allowed. This is to prevent any more unnecessary stretching of the skin.

fifteen. Please do not use overly risque pictures. Shirtless or swimsuit pictures are fine, but barely there underwear is crossing the line, as well as completely nude pictures. Again, this is something that you will know when you’re crossing the line, but please be careful.

sixteen. No anime or drawings, please. We would like to use real people for characters on this site.

seventeen. We also ask that the scene models be kept down to a minimum.
“Let’s head to the green room.”
out of character guidelines.
eighteen. The c-box is for chatter, but please, do not spam in it.

nineteen. Advertisements should be placed in the appropriate forum. Posting anywhere else will result in your advertisement being removed. Please be sure that your forum is guest friendly so that we can link back.

twenty. Activity checks often occur on the site regularly. If you still want to be a part of the site and save your account from being deleted, please post in the activity check and let us know you are still interested. Otherwise, your account will be deleted.

twenty one. If you have a problem with a member, please confront them quietly through PMs or outside of the site. We do not want any uncessessary drama or a public display. Sure, drama in character is great, but out of character isn’t all that great.
“Approve me!”
application extras.
twenty two. The application should be finished within the first week of registration. If you aren’t able to do that, then give the staff a notice. Usually new members who don’t finish the application within the first week don’t get deleted until the activity check, but nonetheless, it would save some hassle to get the application overwith as soon as possible.

twenty three. Hutchinson is a private, Christian school. And like all private schools, they require money to operate. Every student at Hutchinson pays tuition. Nevertheless, characters who come from a financially unstable background couldn’t afford going to Hutchinson unless they receive a scholarship or someone pays their tuition for them.

twenty four. As said before, Hutchinson is a private school. However, private schools are different from boarding schools. Boarding schools are where students live and learn. Some private schools are boarding schools, but Hutchinson is not one of them. Please be sure in the history section of the application that you don’t say your character lives somewhere far away from Colorado and was sent there to go to school.
“And the finishing touch..”
finishing guidelines.
twenty five. Have fun! We are all here to do so and to also meet other believers and get to know them better. So relax, don’t worry, be happy.
