With a tap, tap, tap Alexis Kraten tapped her painted black nails on the desk she was sitting on. She was one of the first to arrive at room 103 this afternoon so she was stuck waiting for everyone else. It was Lexi’s own fault that she had been the first to arrive -- her over excitement always led to her arriving places early. It was a really annoying habit. Alexis was excited though; she love Gay-Straight Alliance meetings, they were always fun.

The first meeting of the year was going to be exciting at times; some of the students only hung out during these meetings and it had been a while since a meeting the previous year. Although she was sure the social aspect was going to be a riot, Lex had the feeling the meeting itself was going to be dull and full of plotting for the year. Which is not as fun as one would think. Going over the events they had done the previous year, to see what they wanted to do again, was something they were sure to do. Perhaps even play a few introduction games, which normally translated to being boring and monotonous.

One thing Alexis was looking forward to was the mentioning of the day of silence. It was an event she loved dearly. It was a day, that schools all over the world took a vow of Silence. The participants normally wore clothes that represented what they were doing, and explained to their teachers in advanced. The point of the event was to show how much homophobia was ignored and pushed aside. Her mind also wandered to a coming out day, where everyone had the chance to come out in a public and safe way – with others.

The more she thought about it, the more Lexi looked forward to the year. She kicked her legs and stared at the clock; running out of things to make time go faster. “I’ve really got to stop coming so early.” She said with a sigh.

Stella looked around the hallway as she walked with her backpack handing on one shoulder, a board could be seen sticking out of her bag. She coughed slightly, trying to make sure no one was there. As far she could tell, the coast was clear. She smiled as she pulled her board from the bag and placed it on the ground. "I have missed you soooo much." She said smiling happily as she jumped on the board. She kicked off the ground and started down the hall. Back home, this was what she did. Teachers didn't care, it was public school, they were more worried about the two girls in the other hall fighting with each other, trying to pull the others hair out. Nope, boarding in the hall seemed slightly normal. Hell, Stella and her whole group of friends all took good advantage of it. The school was their personal park. When they had class off, they were always doing tricks on the stairs and in the halls. Since coming here, Stella had only been able to skate at the park and around campus. Never in the halls. But it was after school, and she had places to go.

Stella got to the hall where the Gay Straight Alliance way meeting and boarded straight to the door. Luckily, it was open. She skated in, coming to a halt as she entered the room. She kicked the board back up to her hand and smiled at the only girl that was in there. Being new to the whole school, Stella had no idea who the girl was. She let out a small cough and laughed slightly. "This is the room for GSA right? Or am I just totally early?" She said running a hand through her freshly colored hair. Okay highlighted. She hadn't died her hair since freshman year. "I'm new and I just got the room number from some dude on facebook last night." Stella told her, hoping she didn't think she was totally retarded. You could never trust facebook in Stella's mind. Unless it was for some event you were totally sure of. Stupid people thinking it's funny to put shit up that wasn't happening. It made her sick sometimes.

While she was able to hold a calm and cool exterior, on the inside Alexis Kraten was doing a happy dance. It had the upward finger pointing, spinning in circles - everything. She was thrilled to have someone else in the room with her, 10 minutes in an empty classroom alone would make anyone lonely. However, instead of one of her good friends arriving it was a girl she had never seen before. Or rather talked to, she had seen the girl. It’s hard not to notice a girl carrying a skateboard around; just like it’s hard not to notice a girl with black and red hair.

Looking closer at the girl, Lexi noticed she was attractive. Her hair was stylish, in a non-conventional way, there was even a cute bunch of freckles that ran from one cheek to the other over the bridge of her nose that made her insides squirm. Yet Lex had learnt her lesson; never fall for straight girls. Therefore, she had no plan to hit on this new girl.

“Hi! I’m Alexis, and yes we are both pretty early.” Alexis spoke with a bright smile on her face. She really was thrilled to no longer be alone. Company is always great, and pretty company, well, that’s even better. “Is this your first ever GSA meeting? We have a lot of fun here. Probably because we’re all crazy. Everyone should be here in the next couple of minutes.” Lexi’s eyes flashed from the girls face to the clock, and she sighed at the time. “Hopefully.”
