This is most likely only a partial list. There is such a vast number of characters
in the Harry Potter world, that I have probably left out a few of them who have died in the
appropriate timespan (between 1898 and 1998). If you would like to play a character
not on this list who did die in that timespan, please simply feel free to make the application.

MEMBERS OF THE NEW ORDER

ALBUS PERCIVAL WULFRIC BRIAN DUMBLEDORE
one hundred sixteen - wizard - available
It was through Dumbledore that resistance to the rise of Lord Voldemort was formed,
as it was he who founded and led both the first and second Order of the Phoenix. Because of
his keen mind and legendary power, Dumbledore became the only wizard that Voldemort
ever feared. He was considered to be the most powerful wizard of his time. He was most
famous for his defeat of Gellert Grindelwald, the discovery of the twelve uses of dragon's
blood, and his work on alchemy with Nicolas Flamel. He was the master of the Elder Wand
from 1945 until his arranged death in 1997 and considered by many as the greatest
Headmaster to ever grace Hogwarts.

SIRIUS ORION BLACK III

A pure-blood wizard, member of the Order of the Phoenix, and godfather to Harry Potter.
Opposing his family's beliefs, he fought in both the First and Second Wizarding Wars against
the Death Eaters. However, he was framed for betraying his friends James and Lily Potter
to Lord Voldemort and for killing twelve Muggles, and sent to Azkaban for twelve years.
He became the only known person to break out of the prison unassisted, and rejoined the
Order. He was killed by his cousin Bellatrix Lestrange.

REMUS JOHN LUPIN
thirty eight - wizard and werewolf - available
A wizard infected with lycanthropy and a member of the First and Second Orders of
the Phoenix. During his school years, he was one of the Marauders; he was friends
with James Potter, Sirius Black, and Peter Pettigrew. Together they created the Marauder's
Map. He fought against the Death Eaters once more in the Second Wizarding War, during
which he married fellow Order member Nymphadora Tonks and had a son, Teddy Lupin.
Remus was killed by Death Eater Antonin Dolohov during the Battle of Hogwarts in 1998.

MARLENE MCKINNON
twenty eight - witch - played by Mackynziie
A member of the Order of the Phoenix during the First Wizarding War. Her whole family
was murdered by Death Eaters in the summer of 1981. Igor Karkaroff implicated
Travers as one of the people who was involved. Alastor Moody pointed out Marlene to
Harry Potter in a photo of the Order that was taken two weeks before her death.

DORCAS MEADOWES
thirty one - witch - played by Angel
A member of the Order of the Phoenix during the First Wizarding War. She was killed by
Lord Voldemort sometime in the second half of 1981. Alastor Moody showed Harry Potter
a group photo of the first Order of the Phoenix that included Dorcas in 1995.

ALASTOR "MAD-EYE" MOODY

Arguably the most renowned Auror of all time, and a pivotal member of the Order of
the Phoenix during the First and Second Wizarding Wars. Moody served with distinction
during the first conflict, gaining a considerable reputation, as well as losing an eye, leg,
and part of his nose while fighting the Dark Arts. To this end, Moody became overly-cautious
and paranoid about his security. Nevertheless, Moody remained a constant and valuable ally
to the assembled forces of good during their battles with Lord Voldemort, until Battle over
Little Whinging in which he was killed by Lord Voldemort.

JAMES POTTER
twenty one - wizard - reserved by James
A member of the original Order of the Phoenix, as well as the father of Harry Potter.
During his seventh year as a student, James was Head Boy and began dating Lily Evans,
whom he later married. James, Lily, and their friends all fought in the First Wizarding War
as members of the Order of the Phoenix, but the Potters were forced to go into hiding after
a prophecy was made concerning Lord Voldemort and their infant son. James and Lily were
betrayed by Peter to Voldemort, who murdered them as they tried to protect their son.

LILY EVANS POTTER
twenty one - witch - reserved by Megan
A Muggle-born witch and the mother of Harry Potter. A talented student, Lily was a member
of the Slug Club and Head Girl in her seventh year. Lily went on to marry James Potter.
She and James both joined the Order of the Phoenix after graduating, and fought in the
First Wizarding War, defying Lord Voldemort himself three times. This made their only
child the Dark Lord's target when a prophecy was made about the one with the power to
defeat him, and Voldemort attacked the Potters on October 31, 1981. Her loving sacrifice
enabled her son to be the only known person to survive the Killing Curse.

FABIAN PREWETT
thirty four - wizard - available
A pure-blood wizard, the brother of both Gideon Prewett and Molly Weasley née Prewett.
Fabian was described by his sister as not being "terribly careful" with his possessions,
especially his prized antique wristwatch, which he dented. During the First Wizarding War,
Fabian and his brother decided to join the ranks of the Order of the Phoenix to fight against
Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters. Eventually, however, Gideon Prewett and Fabian
were attacked by five Death Eaters, one of whom was Antonin Dolohov.

GIDEON PREWETT
thirty seven - wizard - available
A pure-blood wizard, the brother of both Fabian Prewett and Molly née Prewett. During the
First Wizarding War, Gideon and his brother decided to join the ranks of the Order of
the Phoenix to fight against Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters. Eventually, however,
Gideon and Fabian were attacked by five Death Eaters, one of whom was Antonin Dolohov.
They were described as having "fought like heroes". Dolohov, and perhaps others involved
in the Prewetts' "brutal" murders, were imprisoned in Azkaban for the crime.

SEVERUS SNAPE
thirty eight - wizard - available
The professor of Potions and Defense Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts. Snape developed
a passion for the Dark Arts and pure-blood supremacy, which put his friendship
with Lily under strain. After leaving school he joined the Death Eaters along with a large
group of his fellow Slytherins. Severus suffered terrible remorse when Voldemort
decided that Harry Potter was the subject of the prophecy, and that Lily was now in danger
as a result of his actions. Severus secretly defected from the Death Eaters and joined
the Order of the Phoenix, under Dumbledore. Severus continued on in the ranks of
the Death Eaters as a spy for the Order. He was, however, always loyal to Dumbledore.

NYMPHADORA TONKS
twenty four - witch and metamorphmagus - played by SPIRA
A half-blood witch and Metamorphmagus who was a member of the second Order of the
Phoenix. After leaving Hogwarts, Tonks became an Auror and joined the reconstituted
Order of the Phoenix. Tonks later fought in the Battle of the Astronomy Tower, and publicly
declared her love for Remus Lupin. The two were married in the summer of 1997, and
Tonks fell pregnant shortly after. She gave birth to a son, Teddy, shortly after Easter in 1998.
In May of that same year, Tonks was killed by her aunt, Bellatrix Lestrange.

EMMELINE VANCE
forty three - witch - reserved by Emme
A member of the first and second Order of the Phoenix until her death in mid-1996 at
the hands of Death Eaters. She was considered a talented witch and her loss was a heavy
blow to the Order. Emmeline's service to the Order ended however, when she was attacked
and killed by Death Eaters near to the residence of the Muggle Prime Minister. Her loss was
considered a heavy blow for the Order and her murder was publicised in Muggle newspapers.
Severus Snape claimed to have given information to Voldemort that led to Vance's death.

FRED WEASLEY
twenty - wizard - played by Marc
A pure-blood wizard, a son of Molly and Arthur Weasley, and twin brother to George Weasley.
A brilliant prankster and inventor, Fred left Hogwarts shortly prior to graduation to
become a successful entrepreneur, alongside his twin brother. Fred was also a member of
the Order of the Phoenix; he fought in the Battle over Little Whinging. In 1998, Fred
participated in the Battle of Hogwarts, defending the castle's passageways with his twin. He
was killed in a magical explosion likely caused by Death Eater Augustus Rookwood.



DEATH EATERS

TOM MARVOLO RIDDLE
seventy two - wizard - reserved
The most powerful Dark Wizard in the history of the wizarding world. Born and raised in a
dreary London orphanage and educated at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry,
Tom was an exceptional pupil, being both a Prefect and Head Boy. After leaving school,
Tom absorbed himself completely into the Dark Arts, and underwent many extreme magical
transformations, including the creation of several Horcruxes. He assumed the alias Lord
Voldemort and gathered an army known as the Death Eaters, planning to take over the
wizarding world and achieve immortality. This would result in two wars and a great many deaths,
until Voldemort was finally defeated by Harry Potter during the Battle of Hogwarts.

BELLATRIX LESTRANGE
forty seven - witch - available
A pure-blood witch and Death Eater who was fanatically loyal to Lord Voldemort.
At the end of the First Wizarding War, Bellatrix and her husband, Rodolphus Lestrange,
tortured Aurors Alice and Frank Longbottom to the point of insanity. Bellatrix was sentenced
to life imprisonment in Azkaban for the crime, but escaped in the 1996 mass break-out.
She participated in several battles of the Second Wizarding War, making it a particular goal
to kill any relatives who were members of the Order of the Phoenix. Bellatrix's life of violence
and malice was eventually ended when she was killed by Molly Weasley during the Battle of Hogwarts.

PETER PETTIGREW
thirty eight - wizard - available
The wizard who betrayed James and Lily Potter to Lord Voldemort. Peter Pettigrew
defected from the Order of the Phoenix to the Death Eaters sometime during the First Wizarding
War; after the Dark Lord's fall, he faked his own death and spent years living in his Animagus
form as the Weasleys' pet rat, Scabbers. Pettigrew played a key role in Voldemort's
rebirth, and continued to serve him during the Second Wizarding War. He met his end in
the spring of 1998, when he was strangled to death by the silver hand his master had
constructed for him.

QUIRINUS QUIRRELL
forty nine - wizard - available
A wizard and Professor of Defence Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts during the 1991-1992
school year. Prior to this position, he was the Professor for Muggle Studies. Quirrell spiralled
into corruption and, ultimately, death after joining in allegiance with Lord Voldemort.
Quirrell encountered Lord Voldemort when travelling around the world. The barely-alive
Dark Lord twisted the gullible Quirrell into his service, seducing Quirrell with the promise
of glory. In 1991, Quirrell attempted to steal the Philosopher's Stone from Gringotts
Wizarding Bank for Voldemort.



NEUTRAL CHARACTERS

NOTE: These characters either were not Death Eaters or were not members of either Order in
the series. Members who play them on this site may choose to have them either become
Order members or Death Eaters, or remain neutral.

AMELIA SUSAN BONES
fifty eight - witch - available
The head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. Madam Bones sat on the Wizengamot
and presided over Harry's trial, expressing admiration for Harry's ability to produce a
corporeal Patronus at such a young age. She was also part of the faction that voted to
clear Harry of all charges. She was brutally murdered by Voldemort during the 1996 summer
holidays. Some members of the Order of the Phoenix referred to her as one of the greatest
witches of the era, and several wizards felt deeply troubled by Bones' death.

CHARITY BURBAGE
forty nine - witch - available
A Professor of Muggle Studies. Because she taught and advocated the equality of Muggle-born
and half-blood wizards and witches, she was in direct opposition to the ideology of
Lord Voldemort and his followers. In July 1997, she was abducted and brought to Malfoy Manor,
where she was magically suspended above a table during a Death Eater meeting. She
begged for fellow Hogwarts professor Severus Snape to help her, but he did not, as to
maintain his position as spy in Voldemort's ranks. At the end of the meeting, Voldemort
killed her using the Killing Curse and then fed her to his snake familiar Nagini, making an
example of her.

VINCENT CRABBE
seventeen - wizard - available
A student at Hogwarts and a member of Slytherin House. Crabbe, along with Gregory
Goyle, are rarely seen without their ringleader Draco Malfoy. While Dolores Umbridge
was Headmistress, he joined the Inquisitorial Squad. He seemed to have accidentally
killed himself using Fiendfyre on 2 May 1998, during the Battle of Hogwarts. His father,
Crabbe Sr., is a Death Eater.

COLIN CREEVEY
sixteen - wizard - played by Nev
A student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, a year below Harry Potter. He
was sorted into Gryffindor House. He was the elder brother of Dennis Creevey. He was
Muggle-born and his father is a milkman. He was a fan of Harry Potter. He took a lot
of pictures of Harry and other students. In 1998, Colin was found dead after the final
Battle of Hogwarts. He most likely heard of Harry's return to Hogwarts with his Dumbledore's Army
Coin. The seventh book stated that Colin had snuck back into the castle after being forced
from participating in the battle since he was under-age.

DIRK CRESSWELL
thirty seven - wizard - available
A Muggle-born wizard who attended Hogwarts in the 1970s. After graduating, he went to
work at the Ministry of Magic and eventually became Head of the Goblin Liaison Office.
When the Ministry was taken over by Lord Voldemort, Dirk attempted to use a forged family
tree in order to claim wizarding heritage, but was discovered by Albert Runcorn. After
going on the run for some time, he was caught and killed by Snatchers.

CEDRIC AMOS DIGGORY
seventeen - wizard - reserved by Eva
Cedric started attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 1989, and was
sorted into Hufflepuff. In his sixth year, Cedric put his name forward to compete in
the Triwizard Tournament. He was selected as the Hogwarts Triwizard Champion. Cedric
and Harry completed the Third Task together, and both took hold of the Triwizard Cup
which transported them to the Little Hangleton graveyard. In the graveyard, Cedric was
murdered by Peter Pettigrew on the orders of Lord Voldemort. His only request was for Harry
to take his body back to his parents, which Harry honoured.

GREGOROVITCH
seventy - wizard - available
A well-known and famous wandmaker. During the course of his career as a wand maker,
Gregorovitch became an expert in wand lore, and supplied many witches and wizards in
European countries with reliable wands. Voldemort hunted Gregorovitch down because he
was believed to be in posession of the Elder Wand. Voldemort demanded Gregorovitch
give him the wand, but Gregorovitch said it was stolen from him many years ago. Voldemort,
recognising he had all the information he required, ignored Gregorovitch's pleas for mercy
and struck him with a Killing Curse, causing him to die.

GELLERT GRINDELWALD
one hundred five - wizard - available
The most infamous Dark Wizard of his time. He was schooled at Durmstrang Institute and
later took up a friendship with Albus Dumbledore, which fell apart after the two were involved
in a three-way duel with Aberforth Dumbledore that resulted in Ariana Dumbledore's
death. Dumbledore defeated Grindelwald in a famous duel in 1945, and he was subsequently
imprisoned in Nurmengard for decades. Grindelwald was slain there by Lord Voldemort in
1998 when Voldemort was in search of the Elder Wand.

BERTHA JORKINS
fifty one - witch - available
A Ministry of Magic employee who worked in the Department of Magical Games and Sports
before her death. One night in a bar, Bertha Jorkins ran into Peter Pettigrew who was able
to overpower Bertha and bring her to his master Lord Voldemort. Voldemort was able to
break through the memory charm placed by Crouch Sr. on her and learned of the imprisonment
of his follower Crouch Jr. and other valuable information. Breaking through the memory charm
had left Bertha severely 'damaged', and Lord Voldemort murdered her with The Killing Curse
because he had no more use for her. Voldemort was able to use her death to turn his snake
Nagini into a Horcrux.

RUFUS SCRIMGEOUR
fifty eight - wizard - available
He originally joined the Ministry of Magic as an Auror, and eventually was elected to
succeed Cornelius Fudge as Minister for Magic While he appeared to provide a much tougher
and resolute stance against Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters, he made the same mistake
of creating the appearance of safety and security, while in truth Scrimgeour's efforts were
wanting in progress in the war. This policy ultimately cost Scrimgeour his life, as it left the
Ministry open for infiltration by the Death Eaters. Voldemort, wanting the location of
Harry Potter, captured and brutally tortured Scrimgeour, though when Scrimgeour refused
to talk, Voldemort killed him.

TED TONKS
fifty eight - wizard - available
A Muggle-born wizard, the husband of Andromeda Black, and the father of Nymphadora Tonks.
Ted and Andromeda were not members of the Order, but assisted them on occasion, such
as allowing them to use their home as a safe house after the Battle over Little Whinging. When
Lord Voldemort succeeded in taking over the Ministry of Magic in 1997 and the Muggle-Born
Registration Commission was established, Ted went on the run. He was eventually caught
and killed by Snatchers.
