and the wizarding world is nothing how it was supposed to be.
after harry potter defeated the dark lord, the world experienced
a few years of peace and quiet. but after kingsley shacklebolt
suffered from an unexpected heart attack, a new minister had
to be reinstated. and to everyone's horror, she turned out to
be the wizarding world's worst nightmare. persephone warrington
had been slowly rising to power within the ministry, but no one
thought much of it. sure, she was a slytherin alumni but she
was amazing at getting her jobs done quickly and efficiently.
plus, she had a certain aura about her, one that made you feel
reassured and calm, like while she was around, everything
would be okay. and so when it was time for the world to elect a
new leader, she seemed the perfect candidate. she took the
post eagerly, promising to improve the wizarding world's standards
and living conditions. she promised to sustain the peace and
equality that they had been experiencing for the past couple
of years.
this was all a complete and utter lie.
after a few months of her term, the wizards began to notice a
difference in their way of life. there were new elections taking
place, and the pureblood elitists seemed to be winning them
all. it was hardly noticeable at first; the slander against the
muggleborns, the influence that the purebloods were having
over society, the way people were being punished for their
crimes based on blood. but then on one rainy and gloomy
summer day, ministry papers were plastered all over the doors
and windows of wizarding buildings and the prophet had a
full story on the brand new rules of the ministry. and to the
horror of the witches and wizards, they seemed to be much too
similar to the old rules of when lord voldemort had held power.
suddenly, all of the muggleborns had to register themselves,
as well as squibs. there were segregated wizarding areas, based
on blood type and social status. suddenly purebloods were
holding a lot more power than necessary and there was not a
damn thing the muggleborns could do about it.
but it wasn't just the wizarding world that was affected with such
horrible rules. the ministry has now infiltrated hogwarts as well,
forcing its students and professors to follow several rules or else
face expulsion or being fired. and this, above all else, shocked the
magical community because once hogwarts has been taken over,
it was as if there would be no hope. and though the headmaster,
rolf scamander, is trying his best to fix this situation, his attempts
are so far useless, and he is now putting himself and his family in
danger of being murdered.
but did you think that all wizards would just stand aside and let
this happen? of course not.
among the adults, a new group has formed, rather like the order
of the phoenix. they call themselves the revolutionary league of
wizards and witches, 'the league' for short. they have banded
together to try and overthrow the ministry. some of the members
are indeed workers in the ministry themselves, while others are
mere shop owners or other such people. their enemies are of course
the ministry, and another group that supports it named the society
of the pure. and in between these groups are of course, those that
are neutral, and are simply just trying to stay out of everything.
the ministry and the society have one more enemy, though.
hogwarts itself. within the castle many of the students and
professors are doing everything they can to possibly overthrow
the ministry. there are, of course, supporters within the castle,
but a majority are planning on or have already joined the league.
the magical community is on the verge of chaos. there are
murders occurring left and right, there are duels breaking out
in the streets, and it seems to be an uphill battle for both sides.
the whole wizarding world is merely looking for a SILVER LINING ?- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - AND I WAS YOUR SILVER LINING,
