Although she had always kept an alarm clock by the side of her bed she hadn't really needed the alarm for a couple of years now, having found herself waking up moments before it would go off. Habits died hard and at a minute and a half before six, she found herself sitting up and rubbing her eyes lightly with one hand as she reached over to her bedside table with her free hand out of routine of shutting off the alarm on her clock. A soft 'hm?' escaped her as she lowered her hand from where it had been rubbing lightly at her eyes and she looked to see an empty spot where the alarm clock should have been. It took her a moment of staring at it to realize that it was indeed gone and not just on the floor from being knocked off in some way or another.

With a slight shrug as her brain didn't usually work at full gear until her first cup of coffee, she swung her legs off the side of the bed, her feet coming to rest on the smooth fake-wood tiled floor. Then she pushed herself up into a stand before giving a good stretch and making her way to the dresser, her eyes closing back up halfway there. Her clothing was always organized so she just grabbed one article of clothing from each drawer before draping all of them over one arm and opening her eyes halfway so not to trip over or bump into anything as she made her way to the door.

Her bedroom door opened almost soundlessly as Megan made her exit from that room and drifted down the hall a short way to disappear into the bathroom. The clothing was set folded on a closed toilet seat while the ones she wore were peeled off and stepped out of, one foot sliding them into the corner of the bathroom as she turned on the water for the shower... The shower almost put her back to sleep with how relaxing it was but due to being used to getting up and getting going all of the time, she managed to cling onto a half awake state as she thought about which flavor of coffee she would be drinking this morning.

The shower was done in about twenty minutes, her taking the time to wash and rinse her hair a couple of times before letting the conditioner set in for a couple of minutes and rinsing it out. A couple minutes more and she wandered out of the bathroom and into the hall after having changed into the clothes for the day, taking care of her dental hygiene and wrapping a towel around her hair. Sleep wear was deposited into the hamper of her room with a simple toss through the doorway and practiced aim then she was finally heading to the kitchen.

As much of a creature of habit as she was, she picked out a flavor of coffee and set in the machine, closing it just before the timer on the coffee maker switched over to start on boiling the water she had poured into it a moment before setting up the actual coffee grounds. Megan gave a slight yawn, stifling it with one hand as she reached for one of the coffee cups hanging between the cabinet and counter. She then poured in a couple of spoons of sugar and set the cup down before getting some milk out of the fridge.

It took about five minutes for the coffee maker to finish, the smell of hazelnut coffee filling most of the apartment by that point. Megan gave a pleased smile as she poured and prepared herself a cup but as she walked into the living room, taking her first sip as she took a seat, her smile dropped slightly and her eyes opened from their half-closed state. Her mind finally woke up fully and she remembered what had happened to her alarm clock. Not only that but she remembered the events of the night before. The almost-robbery, the shooting, rescue, diversion of the mob, Remy... everything.

A soft sigh came from her as she took her second sip. Megan had a feeling this was going to be an interesting day. Her mind wandered to the later events of the night before..... Yes, an interesting day indeed. It really shouldn't be happening... Or should it, she wasn't sure. And it wasn't like she was just going to call the FOH up and ask them what she should do. This was something she was going to have to handle on her own. At least for now.

Remy had set the alarm for 5am when he saw that hers was set for six. He wanted to start the day off right, in his mind, though he did not relish getting up that early. A nap later in the day with her would not be unwelcome, he thought with a smile. With that fantasy in his head, he slipped out of the warm bed, silencing the alarm. He had turned it down low, knowing he was a pretty light sleeper anyway. He put on his clothes that he wore last night and made a mental note to pick up his bag from where he had stashed it; the outskirts of the woods provided ample hiding place for this things while he explored Westchester.

Slipping out of his bedroom and pausing slightly, he made sure she was still sleeping by peeking in through the slightly open door. She was quiet and resting peacefully, her red hair tugging from its braid in all directions and her hand resting on the pillow next to her. "Mmm..." he mumbled to himself, his thoughts taking a dirty turn. He quickly chastised himself for the noise, though he noticed that she slept right through it; the night before must have been quite the ordeal for her. Or the wine.

He grabbed the keys just as he flew from the apartment without making a sound, something he had perfected in his childhood. He knew that a woman like Megan would wake up on the dot every day, with or without the alarm. She would also make coffee right away, because that was in her routine. He had never seen her during her daily activities, but he was sure that her routine was something she never broke. A crooked smile graced his lips as he headed to the woods for his clothes; he would enjoy breaking her today.

Grabbing the clothes took only minutes and there was no one to stop him this early. On the way to the local diner, however, a policeman had given him a funny look. At first, he thought that he must have noticed his mutation. Then the realization of Megan's power hit him and he realized it was probably a ragged stranger coming into town at 5:30 in the morning was strange. He tried to act casual as he went into the diner and got two specific meals to go.

The diner had just finished his food when he was stopped by the policeman on the way out.

"You from out of town, son?"

Remy tipped his head in a cocky respect. "Oui, monsieur. I am from New Orleans," he said, his accent heavy. "I am staying with a lady friend of mine," he added, no trace of shame at saying it gracing his face.

The policeman was flustered, but soon let him pass. Remy looked back in the diner at the clock on the wall and saw that it was slightly after six. He cursed under his breath and ran back to the apartment. Striding in quickly, he did not see Megan at first, but smelt the coffee brewing. He smiled knowingly.

"Ma cherie?" He asked. "I have brought breakfast." He went to the coffee table and spread the styrofoam containers onto it. He opened them to reveal many types of fruits and small plastic containers of chocolate. He would have fun today, he knew.

She was on her third sip of coffee when there came a sound not from the guest room but from the front door. A key scraping and jiggling inside of the lock then a click of the knob as it turned. Megan rose from the couch, the coffee cup nestled still between her hands as she did so and she looked over to see who it might have been coming into her apartment. There were only three people who had the keys to her apartment. They were her landlord, her father, and the head of the F.O.H in case of emergencies. Her heart jumpped into her throat, her wondering if she was suddenly needed or if her father had gotten hurt or something along those lines.

"Ma cherie?"

Remy, it was Remy who had been entering the apartment. Her heart returned to its place within her ribcage and the redhead relaxed some even if the worry had woken her much further than any cup of coffee would have. She wondered what he was doing up so early a generally people seemed to tend to sleep in until about seven or eight at the earliest when they didn't have a job to go to or school. Maybe he was used to being an early riser? There was no telling really...

"I have brought breakfast." He said as he walked into the apartment further after closing the door.

Megan offered him a smile.

"Haven't known each other for a full twenty four hours and you're already bringing home breakfast." She joked slightly as she sat back down on the couch.

As he set out the containers on the coffee table and opened them, she took note of the different fruits and the chocolates as well, mentally telling herself that the chocolates would all be going to him as she wasn't too fond of chocolate in general. If he was dead set on her eating some, she would but if he were to do what came naturally, she would just go for the fruit and neglect the bean-born sweets.

"If you hadn't had any coffee yet, there's still some in the pot keeping warm" She told him as she set her cup down on the table and adjusted the towel that was still covering and wrapping her hair.

Had she known he was awake... or rather, remembered the night before, she would have blown her hair dry as she didn't like to make it a habit to let people see her not ready for the day.

Remy left her with the food and went to the kitchen, feeling pleased with himself that he had concocted the idea. He poured himself a cup of coffee after looking in a few of the cabinets to locate the mugs. Finding the sugar bowl was easy and the milk was in the fridge, making his coffee a light tan. He liked his sweets, much like the breakfast indicated. That and watching a woman eat fruit was sexy.

He took a sip from his coffee cup but placed it on the counter, retreating to the back room with the duffle bag that was still in his hand. He changed into a pair of tight black jeans and a tight, deep purple t-shirt. He put his fingerless gloves back on more out of habit and ran a brush that he had found in his bag through his locks. They were getting a little long and he thought he might need a cut soon. He might just grow it out again, though. He took his trench coat back out to the living room with him, but not before taking the long metal object from his bag and putting it into the deep pocket of the coat.

Brushing his fingers through his hair, he grabbed his coffee from the counter, hoping it was just a little cooler than before, since it was scalding when he first tasted it. He walked out to the living room and threw his jacket on a random stuffed chair. He plucked a strawberry from one of the styrofoam boxes and bit into it, watching for a reaction from her. Soon, he moaned a little and shut his eyes to enjoy the taste.

After he swallowed it, he said. "I love sweet things, ma cherie." He looked at her with her toasled hair and smiled. "Vous êtes encore plus beau qu'hier, ma cherie." He approached and sat beside her. "What plans did you make for our nothing day?" He asked, mostly out of curiosity though he had a few ideas himself.

As he left for the kitchen, Megan let her hair out of the towel and went on to drying it more efficiently while at the same time, leaning back to make absolute sure that any loose hairs that were in the towel wouldn't get near the food. She had just finished toweling her hair and had the towel around her shoulders by the time he came back from his detour to the guest room.

She couldn't help but to stare slightly for a moment as he came back but quickly, she tore her gaze away. He looked good, really good. Last night, was slightly fuzzy but she was pretty sure that he looked better now than when she had first met him in that alleyway. Of course, it had been pretty dark and at times she had been somewhat intimidated by him. As he picked up a strawberry and took a bite, savoring it more than the average person would, she smirked slightly. He seemed to be enjoying himself.

"I love sweet things, ma cherie." He told her, as if explaining to her his reaction to the berry.

"Yes, I can see that." She replied in a slightly teasing tone before reaching over and selecting one of her own.

She had just placed a part of it in her mouth and bit down when Remy move from where he had paused to pluck the fruit and took a seat beside her on the couch.

"Vous êtes encore plus beau qu'hier, ma cherie."

Biting the piece off completely then chewing and swallowing to empty it from her mouth, she lowered the rest of the berry from her lips. After licking off the trace of the fruit's juice from her lips, she spoke.

"You're just saying that because I made enough coffee for both of us." She said jokingly, trying to brush off the compliment as she was trying not to fall into the fits of shyness she had displayed the night before.

Thinking of last night caused her cheeks to stubbornly flush ever so slightly against her will though. She could feel the heat creeping into them.

"What plans did you make for our nothing day?"

The question rescued her from where her mind had been going. For the moment anyway.

"Well, I haven't really thought too much on it... But the first thing we should probably do is get out of this apartment in the next hour or two. otherwise, the day will be cut short and we'll end up either running errands or at the Auto Shop. Dad wakes up in that range of time and most likely will try to push his workload off on me." She said in almost an amused tone before taking another bite of the strawberry.

"You're just saying that because I made enough coffee for both of us."

He smiled as he recognized her lack of comfort around compliments. She was going to be a lot more uncomfortable by the end of the day if he had anything to say about it.

"Well, I haven't really thought too much on it... But the first thing we should probably do is get out of this apartment in the next hour or two. otherwise, the day will be cut short and we'll end up either running errands or at the Auto Shop. Dad wakes up in that range of time and most likely will try to push his workload off on me."

Gambit jumped from the couch immediately and headed for the kitchen. He opened and closed most of the cabinets in a rather noisy fashion until he found two on-the-go coffee cups. Then he grabbed one of the plastic bags left over from the night before. He poured coffee into both cups and put cream and sugar in his and he put the same in hers, hoping she would like it a little sweet. He put the tops back on and raced out to the living room, trying to balance what he had in his hands. He put the two cups down on the coffee table before picking up one and shoving it into Megan's hands. He closed the two fruit containers and put them into the bag.

Remy then ran to the door and picked up her deposited shoes from the night before. He plucked the mug she was drinking from from her other hand and put it on the table before putting the other on-the-go mug into her remaining hand. He put the bag on his arm and scoped her up with the other to swing her onto her other arm.

"And off we are," he said simply, heading for the front door.

Megan was a little stunned after the sudden flurry of movement that had happened and the relocating that had been done of the food, the coffee and of herself. She just looked at Remy in disbelief for a moment, wondering if he really had just done all of that.

"You were really serious about this being an off day weren't you." She commented before a small laugh came at the awkward but amusing position.

She couldn't believe he just did that.

"You have to be one of the most impulsive forward people I've ever met." Megan stated.

She gave a mild chuckle as she looked at him. If anyone saw her like this with someone, they wouldn't believe it. They'd think that she was sick or that she was getting kidnapped or something. Well, she supposed that in a way she was getting kidnapped. Although, it was a willing abduction even if the person abducting her was somewhat insane.

"Do you know where we are going? Or are you just planning on running away with me?" She asked jokingly. "It might be a bit easier if I was going along beside you rather than you having the possibility of breaking your back carrying me."

"You were really serious about this being an off day weren't you."

"Oui, ma cherie," he said, as he paused a moment to look at her. Her hair was touseled and damp and her shampooed scent wafted from her. The warmth of her body seeped through his coat. It was intoxicating.

"You have to be one of the most impulsive forward people I've ever met."

He chuckled, deep in his chest. "You would not be the first pretty woman that has told me that," he murmured, acknowledging her with a nod of his head. He swiftly turned to the door, bent a little awkwardly for the knob and twisted it open. He double checked in his mind that he had put the keys back in his pocket and went out. He was walking down the stairs as she said,

"Do you know where we are going? Or are you just planning on running away with me?"

His eyebrows raised in mock horror. "I, ma cherie?" He smiled mischeivously. "I don think that I would have to kidnap you, bella. You would be a willing captive, no?"

"It might be a bit easier if I was going along beside you rather than you having the possibility of breaking your back carrying me."

"You are not heavy," he commented, but he assented to put her down. "Now come, ma cherie. I do not know where we shall go, but I do know that we will do nothing." He handed her one of the hastily made coffees. "First, I think an early morning stroll is in order. Watching a neighborhood fully come alive can be a peaceful experience."

When he stopped and looked at her, she gave a slightly embarrassed smirk. She wasn't used to letting anyone just see her with her hair out and wet like this unless she had been swimming.... And even then, she tended to keep her hair in some sort of ponytail or braid.

"You would not be the first pretty woman that has told me that,"

"So do you make a habit out of this kind of thing, Remy Le'Beau?" She asked, quirking a brow and giving a smirk.

She was chuckling again, lightly when Remy shifte and bent to open the door with her still in his arms, their cheeks almost having touched had Megan not moved her face out of the way.

"I, ma cherie?... I don think that I would have to kidnap you, bella. You would be a willing captive, no?"

Megan grinned a little at him.

"I don't know, I know how much of a workaholic I am... Or rather you should have an idea of it with what I've told you. It might take hell and high water to get me to be able to let myself be taken away for too long." She told him teasingly.

"You are not heavy... Now come, ma cherie. I do not know where we shall go, but I do know that we will do nothing."

After he put her down, she adjusted her clothing and looked back at her door. She hadn't had a hair tie with her... That meant that it would be just flowing freely until she found one or until they got back.... She hadn't worn it loose since middle school.

"I'm not light either." She said, tilting her head to the side.

"First, I think an early morning stroll is in order. Watching a neighborhood fully come alive can be a peaceful experience."

That did sound like a nie way to start the day, but where should they take a walk to?

"The park's pretty nice and the walk there shouldn't be too bad either if you were interested." She suggested.

"I'm not light either."

"True," Remy admitted. "But if you were much lighter, I'd be afraid you would float away as if a feather on ze wind."

"The park's pretty nice and the walk there shouldn't be too bad either if you were interested."

He smiled at her and let her lead the way to the park. "That, ma cherie, sounds like the beginning of a good plan." He stretched and yawned a little, his eyes sliding back to her and her quickly drying hair. "Your hair is beautiful, ma cherie. You wear it like that more often," he commented, plucking a lock and rubbing it lightly in his fingers. It had the effect of pinching an herb for the flowery smell of the shampoo wafted over to him and he began to associate the smell with her.

"So, ma cherie, how is this town of Westchester," he asked. "I am not used to things being so...ralentir." That was true. He was from New Orleans, one of the cities in America that never seems to be fully asleep. At least, not all at once. A doze maybe, but not deeply. He was used to screaming women from windows, blazing car horns, sirens, and a light background music behind everything. He was used to parades and drunk women parading themselves. Those women, however, held little sport for him. He liked those that were not as easy to get. If he so much as glanced at some of the women in New Orleans, he could find himself raped in a back alley by three slightly crafty women. One of the good aspects of his powers.

Without his powers, however, he knew that he probably did not stand a chance. He had strength, it was true, but if they were clever enough, they could probably get him.

Homesickness and relief flooded him all at once and he realized that he did not quite know if he was happy about his decision to leave or not. He wanted to help out in these troubled times for mutants, but at the moment he seemed to be in a stopped moment of time.

He shrugged. It was not in his nature to worry too much. He would enjoy the day, one day at a time, as he had learned from birth. He looked at Megan again and enjoyed the sight now and again as they walked.

"True... But if you were much lighter, I'd be afraid you would float away as if a feather on ze wind."

Megan shook her head a little at him in amusement. He was trying to pass it off as her not weighing much. She knew she wasn't overweight as she made sure to keep in shape and was always active to where sometims it was hard to gain any pounds, but she knew that even an average weight could drag someone down after a certain amount of time unless they were some kind of steroid muscle weight lifter jockey. Ew. She hated overly muscled men. It just didn't look right when a guy was walking around looking like he was carrying bowling balls under his skin.

"That, ma cherie, sounds like the beginning of a good plan."

"Alright then, we should head to the right when we leave the building and we can follow the sidewalk almost all the way there." She commented before looking at him to see him glancing over at her.

"Your hair is beautiful, ma cherie. You wear it like that more often,"

Yes, he was definately impulsive, he showed this more by reaching out and taking hold of a lock of her hair to touch it.

"Um... I... Well..."

Damn it, he had her stumbling over her words. He also had her cheeks burning like he had the night before.

"It usually gets in the way... I haven't worn it out since I was a kid.... Except for when I swim and shower and such." She stated, getting herself together again.

"So, ma cherie, how is this town of Westchester... I am not used to things being so...ralentir."

"Well..." She began with a soft sigh as she thought about how things were recently.

"Westchester is usually pretty quiet. Or at least it used to be. Recently there have been... attacks. Like not too long ago, three buildings were burned down and a good deal of people hurt. A couple even killed. And since then, there have been even more mobs forming at one glimpse of a mutant..." She trailed off, this not being how she wanted to start off the morning.

"There's two middle schools here although only one is running as the second was made as the mayor had through there would be a population boom for some reason. Two colleges, although one is a special invitation private one that sits at the outer edge of the town... The beach isn't too far away so we get tourists time to time... especially around the fourth of July weekend. The community isn't so close knit that everyone knows everyone but it's close enough so there are neighborhood watches and things along those lines."

"I'd say over all, this place is half dormant. not completely a sleepy kind of place but nowhere near being something like a big city."

"It is rather...terrifiant," he commented after her description. "That is, it reminds me of a movie I once saw in one of those Hallow's Eve old movie marathons. The one with the chainsaw man." He remembered distinctly that he did not like that movie. It lacked substance...and made him a little afraid of a lake that was far from all civilization. It was good now that he was in a town; complete silence would drive him nuts.

"It sounds like you enjoy living here, no? How long has it been since you arrived, ma cherie? Have you lived here all of your young life?" He asked, curiosity outweighing propriety. It probably was not good manners to question her so, and he knew many women that felt responsible for "raising him" that would throw a fit over it. His impulsive nature, however, soon won over and he just wanted to know.

By this time, he could see the park in the distance. Passing the white sided houses with perfect hedges (this part of town must have been slightly on the too-domesticated middle-class side), green trees and grass beakoned them to the picnic table-littered land. He smiled. He was not used to parks being so...clean. He would enjoy soaking up the sun with Megan by his side on grass that seemed virtually untouched by the standards he was used to. "I am excited for today, ma cher," he commented. "Though it may seem otherwise, getting to relax is not something I do everyday." He paused, thinking of how to phrase his thoughts. "I guess I am too...agité."

Megan chuckled as Remy made his comparison of the town to one from a horror flick then laughed ever so softly as she knew which one it was. She hadn't had the chance to watch the movie herself but she'd caught glimpses and heard people mention it before enough to identify it. There were mixed reviews from the people who made comments and she had planned on watching the line of movies eventually.

"It's alright here, I guess... I've been living in this actual town for a couple of years. Before Westchester, I was in New York City. I was born and raised in Hershey Pennsylvania though." She told him.

Was she giving him too much information? That question drifted across her mind and caused her to think on it for a moment. She had to remember, even if she was getting along with this Remy Le Beau, he was still a mutant underneath... But what if all mutants weren't completely effected by the illness? She wasn't sure, but she did know that she shouldn't even have been thinking about this. She should have just kept to the facts she knew and not wandered from the path the FOH showed her...

"I am excited for today, ma cher. Though it may seem otherwise, getting to relax is not something I do everyday... I guess I am too...agité."

His words brought her out of her thoughts and she smiled at him.

"Well, that would make two of us... You're lucky that you just swooped me out of the apartment before I had the chance to grab my cellphone. With that, it would probably have been hopeless to think we'd have much of a chance of not having today be interrupted." She told him before they reached one of the picknick tables.

Remy walked to the picnic table, put down the coffee, and began to spread out the food before he spoke again. When he did, it had a pensive quality to it. "You know, ma cher, you could always say 'no' when someone called for a favor," he looked up at her with a sympathetic look. "No one will hate you if you relax and do something for yourself rather than everyone else." He broke from her face and looked down at the food once more.

Once it was out of the plastic bag and both styrofoam container opened, he sat on one side and waited for her to take her seat. He looked at his own food and found that he was quiet hungry. He took a piece of cantaloupe with his fingers and bit into it, letting the juices slide down his throat. "Mmm, ma cher, you should try this." He held out the piece to her, looking at her sidelong with an expression of sly amusement in his eyes.
