I'm originally writing this on another site but I thought i'd post it here to. Enjoy


~Flashback~

"For god sakes Avril what the fuck is up with you?" Deryck yelled, he followed her into the kitchen trying his hardest not to slap some sence into her.
"Oh I'm sorry Deryck, I just hate pathetic fucks like you" she finally answered back, she took her suitcase witch was on the kitchen floor, and took extremely heavy steps up the the bedroom.
"Dont think for a secound, I'm letting you go out that door" He tried to clam down but was so full of furry you could pratically see his veins popping out.
"What are you going to do? Hit me again? That's a new low, even for you, god i can't believe I married you" She hissed, and took all her belongings and threw them in the bag.
Deryck took her by the legs, and threw her on the bed "I said your not fucking leaving" he whispered, he held her down tightly, so hard he was bruising Avrils arms.
"If you don't let me go I will never in my life EVER talk to you again" she replied gently,tears falling off her face, she turned her head away from him.
"Don't you fucking set the rules Avril, what the fuck do you think this is? I own you" He said, while using one of his hands to take strands of her blonds hair out of her face.
"I'm no fucking property" Avril yelled, and kicked him in the groin. She took her bags and continued to get her toothbrush in the bashroom.
She knew that just because they were hitting a rough spot it didn't mean he'd ever really try and abuse her, more than he already had. Or would it?
Deryck who was still in the bedroom started to allow tears to fall from his steaming face. "Dont go" he whispered trying to avoid his voice from breaking.
"To fucking late" she said and went into the hallway to get her shoes.

Thinking back on her honeymoon Avril couldn't help the tears from falling down her soft cheak, even though it was years ago since she has last seen Deryck. She was having a hard time moving on. She couldn't undertsand how a love like theres so passionate could end in a horrible fight. She was always searching for answers. But it never lead to anything.
They use to be something out of a fairy tale. Him as the big rock star for Sum 41 and her the maid at the Hilton hotel.

~Flashback

"Hey Av, could you clean room 301? I'm dying of thirst and really needed some iced tea" Melanie teased.
"I'll do it for a 20" Avril sighed, this was the third time she had to do Melanies work.
"Fine you bloodsucker" Melanie joked, and handed Avril her rag.
"You do know if the manager finds out your so going to get fired right?" Avril said, she really hated the extra work but she wasn't about to let down her only friend.
Melanie nodded and left the room.
"301" Avril said to herself. "Crap it's a masters" she moaned, she pressed the elevator button and waited patiently for it to land on her floor. When the elevator arrived she steppe dinto it and pressed the button that would get her to the top floor. When she got there she went over to room 301. She slowly opened the door. When she got into the room she noticed one box by the hallway table. marked smirnoff the. She grinned a little, and went into the bedroom to starighten the sheets.
"Hey" soemone said from behind her.
Avril yelled and panic and jumped up on the bed.
"Wow, babe relax" He grinned.
When she looked she saw a blond haired man in a towel around his waist laughing at her.
"Well first off, not funny, I'll be leaving" she said trying to keep her eyes from going to peak at his lower region.
"Come on stay I could use the company" He said excitedly and jumped up on the bed to level with her.
"I'm sorry Mr. Whibley but I'm working" she said and jumped off the bed.
"No one needs to know" he said flitatously "By the way how do you know my name?"
"Who dosent know Deryck Whibley" she phewed.
"Oh okay" he grinned.
Avril sat on the end of the bed "You better not tell my boss" she threatened, and put the rag aside.

*Flashback over*

Even though it was three years ago the former Mrs. Whibley couldn't get over her past relationship. She had been dating for quite some time but never opened up or put her heart into it. Mildly speaking her heart was broken. And no one could save her. No matter how hard she tried her heart fell into a pit of depression everytime she thought of him.


After her little set down Avril went back to living with her foks in Canada. Trying to starighten out her life, she found an easy bartending job at the MixClub. It was a night job so it gave Avril the oppertunity to help her mom out around the house.

*Flashback*

"I just want to get the fuck out of here" Avril hissed, she tried to get out of her straps.
"Ms Lavigne you cullapsed in a lobby, don't you even want to know why?" The nurse responded. She unstrapped Avril, and gave her some pills "you can run, I don't mind, it's not like it's that big of deal".
Avril knew what she was doing. It was reverse psychology. And it was working. As much as she wanted to go home, the curiousity was starting to kick in.
"I have someone to get home to, you know!" Avril was starting to get worried. She couldn't do anything, but shed tears in fear of what the test might reveal.
"We contacted Mr Whibley, his on his way just relax" the nurse informed her.
Avril crossed her arms stubbornly, and let out a heavy unsteady sigh.
After moaning for a couple of minutes in impatience, a doctor come through the door from the hallway.
"Hello Avril, My name is Doctor Kelsner, before we start I'm thinking it would be a good idea to get your partner in here with you if you want" the docotr suggested.
"Oh hey, I don't know if you noticed it HIS NOT HERE!" avril said sarcastically yelling out the last words.
"I thought you gave her the pills" the doctor whipered in the nurses ear.
"I did she's suppose to be out cold Doc" the nurse said in amazement.
Doctor Kelsner let out a fake smile, and slowly walked over to Avril bed taking a seat next to her.
"Avril do you want to wait till he gets here?" Doctor Kelsner asked, looking her straight into her bright greyish eyes..
"Please, just tell me" she cried softly, biting her bottom lip.
"Avril first off, I'm gonna need to know if you knew you were pregnant" Doctor Kelsner said.
"I knew wha? I'm not pregnant, i'm on the pill" Avril grinned lightly, wondering what a stupid question it was.
"Avril I can assure you, you were pregnant" the Doctor informed her.
Avril thought for a while then it hit her. "What do you mean 'were'" asked asked.
Doctor Kelsner looked down at the floor.
"I-I had a, no you can't be serious" avril started crying alot over the usual.
"I'm afraid it's dead Avril I'm so sorry" Doctor Kelsner added.
"Just leave me alone" she whispered.
Doctor Kelsner nodded to the nurse, and they both left the room closing the door behind them. Leaving Avril all alone to grief over her dead baby.
*flashback over*

Avril took a heavy sigh, and rested her hand on her stomach. The guilt of that night was something that took Avrils years to live with. Everyday she would wish that the kid had made it. That a creation so beautiful by her and Deryck could live in the society she lives in and experience the greatness of live. Even though Avril felt that way, she couldn't cure the sadness inside of her heart.

(god dammit i gotta pm static about the curv thing)

Deciding it was now time to finally set the record straight, she wrote a letter. A letter to Deryck. She wanted to face her fears, and see him again. She thought that maybe if she saw him again, she'd be able to get over him. And finally get the divorce papers signed.

*Flashback*

"He sent the papers back again Avril" Avril mother yelled from the hallway.
It had been 3 months since they had split, and Deryck refused to sign the papers. He kept sending them back with a letter saying 'I'm not done with you' and it was starting to piss her off. All Avril wanted was to have a clean break, but it was obvious Deryck wasn't going to let that happen.
"Fine! Just leave the papers, if he wants to be married to someone who'd rather see him grilled on a stick, then let the bastard" Avril hissed. She was in her bedroom reading a book called 'why love sucks'.

*Flashback over*

I believe we have some unfinished business to attend to, and if you even still have a heart you would meet me next wensday at my place. I know we haven't spoken for a long time, but I need to get this settled once and for all!

Get off me, Deryck get off, please Deryck let go, Avril pleaded in her sleep, drops of sweat were rolling down her forehead causing her pillow to become moist and reasonably colder then her body tempature.
She opened her eyes with a big gasp, and rushed out of her bed. Starring back down at it, Avril slowly shut her eyes cursing lowly to herself for waking up and not fighting it.
It had been two days since Avril had sent the letter to Deryck, and she hadn't been able to sleep since.
Her horrible flaskbacks felt like knives stabbing an already open wound, and her mental state was starting to become questionable. Even when she wasn't sleeping, past memories would haunt her and cause her to shriek. Her mom suggested she go see a phsycologist, but Avril doubted the idea up until that night.
It was obvious she needed someone to talk to. And she couldn't really open up to her parents or friends.


That morning when Avril stepped out of her bed she once again, she slowly walked towards the kitchen to get some juice. Trying hard not to get blinded by the burning sun, she opened the fridge, took the juice, and hurried to the back of the house were the swadow had stolen most of they're garden.
Minutes later her mother came out.
"Avril you look horrible, did you wake up again?" she asked cupping Avrils face, and looking her into her eyes. "You should really go talk to someone Honey, this isn't just going to go away by itself ya know"
"Okay, i'll go later today" Avril replied, walking back up to her room. Her mother went outside to get the mail. When opening the mailbox the first thing she noticed was something with male writing. Jesus she thought to herself and hid the letter under her shirt.
She went back into the house and put the rest of the letters on the kitchen counter.

Meanwhile Avril turned on her Mp3 player and started singing along to the words

"Ma could you schedule the meeting for the therapist" Avril asked, she was feeling a little like a mental nutcase.
she had never recieved therapy before because the thought of someone knowing her more than herself terrified her. Opening your whole heart to a stranger was in her mind just so far out, but she also knew if there was the slightest chance it might work she might as well give it a try.
"Sweety the only open meeting to the closest therapist here, is in three hours do you want it?" Avrls mother put the phone to her chest, and waited for Avrils repsonce.
"Sure the sooner the better" she mumbled, she put her head in her hands and slowly pulle dher hait back "this is insane" she whispered to herself.

~3 hours later~


Avril had just gotten to the building were she was to have her meeting when a men stepped out. "Are you Avril Lavigne?" the man asked, in a hyper english accent.
"Yeah, I'm here to see Dr. Marshall you know him?" Avril asked a little confused. How did he know her name?
"Hey, yeah that's me, call me Ben" the man greeted, and held out his hand.
"Hi, so what am I spose to do now?" she asked.
"Well normally we would go inside and chitchat, but I'm starving so we are going out to eat, do ya mind? It's at that cafe right over there" he said taking her by the hand, and dragging her across the street to the cafe.
"Wow, well um i, okaaaay" she said, for some reason denying a lunch with this guys was the last thing she wanted to do. What if he thought she was anti social or something. Deryck always said shrinks weren't to be trusted. But then again neither was Deryck, so she went along with it.

Meanwhile Avrils mom was debating with herself, if she should open the letter that had arrived for Avril earlier from Deryck or not....

"So, Avril what would you like?" Ben asked, he took his eyes off the menu to see what her answer would be.
"I'll have that" she said, pointing at a specific sandwich on the menu.
When Ben was done ordering they're food, and the menues were out of the way, he started questioning Avril about her life.
"So, Avril why are you here?" he wanted to start out simple.
"I'm not sure" She responded.
"Hmm, okay let's start out simple, who caused you this pain bottled up inside?"
"I, well it's my exhusband" she replied.
"Tell me about him" Ben took his hands in hers, and rubbed the suffers of her hand softly with his thumb.
"He was perfect" Avril burst out in tears.
Everyone around them started staring at them. Seeing it from they're perspective, it looked like Ben was breaking up with her. Thats explained the many evil glares he recieved through the rest of the lunch.
"I miss him Ben, I miss him so much" she cried, she moved her her hands up to her eyes to conceal the tears threatening to spill out of her eyes.
"What do you miss about him?" Ben asked, he started rubbign her shoulder gently trying to comfort her. It was easy to see she had been hurt badly. It made Ben so mad when he saw how awful men treated they're wives sometimes.
"His smile, humor, kindness, looks, his kiss, his touch she trailed off.

Deryck had just ended his two month European tour, and has just gotten off a plain on his way back to L.A to spend a couple days with Avril, before leaving for New York.
When he got inside the apartment door, Avril jumped him and caused them to fall on the floor.
"God i've missed you" Deryck moaned inbetween the many kisses he was recieving from Avril, eager to get more of him.
"Shush" she grinned, and pulled his coat over his shoulders. She pressed her body up against his until she felt something hard and uncomfortable in his pocket. "Wow I had no idea you could be that happy" she grinned.
"Av I have something I need to ask you" Deryck said, he looked deep into her eyes and cupped her chin.
"You okay Der?" the seriousness in Derycks voice was starting to worry her.
"Avril can you get off me for a sec?" he asked, reaching for his pocket. Avril got up and gained him access.
When he got his hand out Avril noticed he was holding a little velvet box.
"Ms Lavigne, wuold you be so kind and take my hand in marriage" he said in a cute alabamin accent.

"Well, umm" Avril mumbled, this was definitely a chok.
They had only been together for 7 months, but Avril was only thinking of one answer to give him, and that was yes.
"Deryck you know I love you right?" she asked, her palms were beginning to sweat and her happy face had somehow dissapeared.
"Yeah, Av I know you love me, but do you love me enough to marry me?" Deryck responded, he could see her struggling with an answer.
"Av i'm going to ask you one more time, will you marry me?" he repeated hoping for an answer this time.
Avril bit her bottom lip and nodded stubbornly.
"Yes" she cried, and trew herself on him again.

And I was hiding

~Flashback over~

"Avril I doubt he's perfect, would you be here if he was?" Ben asked.
"I know, I just don't knwo what happened to him. As soon as we sai 'i do' he changed on me"Avril sobbed.
She took a tissue from her handbag, and whipped her redish eyes.
As Ben was about to speak the waitress served they're food.
"Can we have it to go?" He asked, he eyed her till she was out of sight.
"I thought you were hungry" Avril grinned in confusion.
"I am, but i think we should talk about this elsewere" Ben replied.
The stares from people around them were starting to have a big inpact on his concentration.

After a minor discussion of were to go, Avril decided it would be more comfortable for her to talk with Ben in the park rather than in a small overheated office. On their way down there Ben started questioning her again.
"You never did mension why you guys broke up" Ben pointed out. He looked into her grey orbs, detecting pain. It was clear to him that she had been hurt alot more than he's other clients.
Yet she seemed intact with herself and very pulled together on the outside.
"He hit me" she said.
To his suprise Avril didn't shed a tear. She just took a bite of her sandwich and kept walking.
"Arent you mad or sad about that?" he asked, his question was more to feed his curiousuty then part in Avrils evaluation.
"I think it hurt him more, I don't know, it's all mixed up if ya knwo what I mean" she sighed looking up at the clowless sky, hoping it would giver her some answers.
"yeah I know, you guys must have had something special up untill that day" he responded.
"We did, something you get once in a lifetime" she looked over at Ben. He was so easy to talk to, and she really liked opening up to him.
"I don't think so" he mumbled to himself.
"What do you mean?" she grinned lightly. He was wearing classy glasses and Avril could see her reflextion in the corner of them. It was a big attention catcher.
"Well off the record I think it sucks your giving up on love, I mean that's something I never understand in people" he said.
"I havent given up!" she retaliated. "I'm just, I just haven't found anyone worth it yet"
"Riight, okay Mrs Lavigne back on the record" he laughed pushing her gently in a playfull tone.
"No, I would like to remain off it" she shoved him back and they both started fighting playfully.

Meanwhile at home Avrils mom had opened teh letter Deryck had sent Avril.

Avril,
Im out of town right now, my friend sent the post to germany for me. When I return from Europe I will come and see you. Love you to bits

"Your not coming in this house" Avril mom mumbled. She tore the letter up and put it in the garbage. Then she took at the trash to make sure Avril wouldn't find the letter when she got home.

When Avril finally got home, around two hours after her mothers letter incident she had a glow on her face her mom hadn't seen since she had moved in.
"Were have you been?" She asked, rubbing her cheek gently with her hand. Avril meant the world to her, and she wouldn't allow anyone to hurt her more than she already had been. She didn't deserve it.
"I was at the shrink, I have another meeting the day after tomorrow" Avril grinned lighty.

~Flashback~

"What if she dosen't like me?" Deryck asked. They were right infront of Avrils house about to meet her parents.
"I love you, they'll love you" Avril grinned starightening his tie. "Just relax baby"
"I'm never good with parents Av" Deryck whispered. "Besides I never met them and i'm already engaged to you"
"So? I'm happy that's all they care about, Deryck relax my parents aren't what you think" Avril couldn't help but laugh. She had never seen him this nervous before.
"When your ready, you can ring the doorbell" she said running her hand through his hair. "You should have used gel"
"Your not making this any easier" he smiled and rung the bell.
"It never was my purpose in life" she smiled back.
A couple seconds later Avrils father opened the door.
"Hey Honey" He said giving Avril a big hug.
"Hey Dad, this is my fiance Deryck" she pointed out turning him in Deryck direction.
""h-hi i'm Deryck" he stammered.
"Losen up kid, how are ya doing" Avril father joked giving him a calm slap on teh back.
"okay" Deryck sighed following Avril and her dad inside.

It's too late that now.
I've changed my mind.

A week had passed since Ben and Avril had first met, and they had begun to see each other on a more regular basis. They were also considering each other more as friends then therapist and patient.

Avril stepped into Bens office with two bags of chinese food in her hands.
"knock, knock" she said, and placed the bags of food on his desk.
"Hey, sup?" he smiled taking some chopsticks and taking his share of the food.
"Still haven't heard from Deryck, I don't think he recieved my letter" Avril said worried sitting on the chair across from him.
"Maybe it's for the best Av, I mean you haven't exactly been happy about that letter" he stated, raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah your right, this is a good thing, god I hate waiting ya know?" Avril sighed.
"yeah, you should really take your mind off it, if you want you can come over and watch a movie at my place, I just got Pearl Habor"´he grinned lightly.
"Oh my god that's like the best comedy ever, almost as good as Titanic" she grinned sarcastically.
"It happens to be a great movie" Ben replied acting hurt.
"Aw, i'm sorry Benny Baby" she grinned. Then got up and gave him a hug.
"I gotta go, see you tonight" she smiled giving him a peck on the cheek before going out the door.



Im trying to devide the updates between my fic evenly so im sorry this had to be short but my mom only gave me 15 min online and thats not enough to write all the stuff i have down lol

When Avril got home she found her mother in the kitchen crying over a bottle of antidepression.
"Mom what the fuck are you doing?" she cried. she ran over to her mother and took the pills away.
"Did you take any of these?" she asked.
Avrils mom shook her head and whipped the tears from her face.
"You okay?" avril asked rubbing her moms back resting her head on her shoulder.
After a moment of silence all her mother could say was "I'm sorry".
"Okay mom hang on im gonna call Ben, he can probably help you out" Avril said, she gave her mom a peck on the forehead and took her cellphoen out of her pocket.

A while later Ben arrived.
"Hows she doing?" he asked hanging his coat on the racket.
"I can't Ben, I can't" she broke down.
"It's okay Av, let me talk to her" he whipped the tears from her eyes with his thumb and followed Avril into the livingroom were her mother was lying on the couch dozing away.
"You okay?" he asked feeling her forehead.
"He wrote her"
"Who wrote what?"
"Deryck, he wrote Avril back a week ago and a threw out the letter"
"Why?"
"I bet you've learned to hate him to, he's coming back for her ya know"
"Why did you through the letter out?"
"You know why" she gave him a heartfull wink. Ben smiled at her. Even though he didn't know what she meant, her soft peacefull voice always got him thinking.
"She seemse fine Av, just let her have some rest" he lied.
"God i'm glad your here" she wrapped her arms around his waist and started crying.

"anytime" Ben winked. He gave Avril a hug and when he tried to pull away he realised Av was hanging onto him.
"Don't go" she whispered in a broken voice, tears rolling down her soft cheeks.
"Okay whatever you want" Ben comforted.
They both went into Avril bedroom to let her mother get some peacefull sleep.
Being in her room lead them to an akward silence.
"Don't worry your mom will be fine, trust me, shes just worried about you" Ben comfirmed and sat next to her on the bed.
"You've been so prefect to me" she smiled running her hand through his geled hair.
Slowly she pushed his head towards her and lead him into a deep passionate kiss he refused to deny.
When they both were in desperate need of air they pulled away form each other and took a deep breath smilling.
"Wasn't expecting that" he grinned in a low voice.
"Shush it" she smiled and pulled his face back in.
This time Avril lowered herself so her back was touching the ebd and lightly pushed herself up towards the pillow moaning once in a while.
"Ma.. maybe.. we should.. take it slow" he spoke inbetween kisses.
"Oh yeah, your right what was I thinking" she said trying to catch her breath.
"I liked it though" he smiled rubbing her cheek with the palm of his hand while cupping her chin.
"Me to" she replied.
she rapped her arms around his waist and they both layed on the bed for hours speechless in each others arms
