Seldom heard ppl change the C channel.

What u need to do b4 u applying any silicon lube, try to clean the c channel 1st. It is recommended to use silicon gel type rather than spray type.

huh.gif After removing the old rubber run channel, how do we ensure it will adhere firmly to the metal door 'C' guide channel? Do you need glue it back? 39.gif

Your are right Bro 41.gif , i've just bought a brand new run channel rubber for my car where its specifically made either for our left or right door and is not interchangeable....

i've yet to install it but according to the spare parts shop, it will fit snugly into the 'C' channel without much problem...finally, no longer need to spray regularly those lubricants which is such a chore....Thanks Bro Guan... runtop.gif

For those whom are driving cars driver.gif that are parked under the hot sun for almost 10 years like mine 20.gif , i would like to recommend them to change their rubber window run channel as they would have deteriorated by then...

i learnt this during last weekend when i change my rubber channel, it was breaking up near the side mirror & door lock knob....it must have been caused by spraying too much lubricants that caused the rubber to disintegrate...after that, my window now operates like a new car - hurray!! hooray.gif

this DIY work is not too hard...if you have replace your power window regulator before on your own, the task at hand is even more easy than that and only takes half the time compared to changing the regulator...good luck.

Ah boy is right U need to spray silicon lubricant that is good against Water wash out , good rust preventive & innerd to to sunlight temp.

It'll protect the softness of the rubber .

my car is aredi 11 years old and not yet change the rubber i spray it once or twice a month.one can about Rm 35 will last for years.

With WD40 it will works but that will damage the (harden the rubber) cause Oil + Rubber chemical reaction..and WD-40 not good againt water wash out.

Just replaced mine. The rubber cost RM35.
Quite simple to diy -- drop the windows to the max, tilt it out a bit, pull out/replace the rubber, put back the windows into the run-channel, done.

Now my windows can wind up like new.
