Hey bro, Considered lucky lor. Even the seats and the dashboard are so new but later after that, my wife accidentaly scratched the dash badly with her bag. U know how to get it fixed? Deep very visible scratches ler... Now using PC, can write more. Handling wise, I really dare not go till limit eventho I've read a lot of reviews saying that it's not too bad from it's AWD chassis. And compared to NA Airtrek, the Turbo version is 35mm lower (160mm vs 195mm & 205mm). On stock chassis, to my surprise it's rather bumpy and hard, eventho the tires are 60 series thick. I asked a few other AtrR owners, they said turbo version's coil is much harder to compromise it's performance output. But a good thing, the cabin's NVH is not too bad, so that helps a bit. Engine vibration is noticible and when the turbo kicks in, u can feel the difference. Performance was good for my needs but after I've upped the boost, the car felt much more pleasurable to drive. It's quick during take offs but gotta watch out for the heavy footed, else the mileage will be pretty bad. The last refuel was 6.01km/L. Top speed is capped at 180kph and have not tested sprinting yet. Sud be below 8 seconds gua. INVECS II is a really smart gearbox. I always encountered gear not dropping at the correct gear when overtaking but in this INVECS II, never encountered before. And best of all, I can't felt the gear during shifting, rather smooth like CVT. I've tested manual shifting before, on the right rpm shift, if I can maintain the power band, the car felt very spirited but most of the time, 'D' is more than enuff. A smart system to my standard.... sorry, I dun hv much experience with other auto cars, just my Sentra. There are a few versions of Airtreks, this one is full specs as it comes with 2 roofs, sun and moon. ICE is stock Panasonic 2 din disco HU with 6 speakers. The seats and steering wheel are standard from Evo 7.5 GTA. Boot space is rather small tho. Well, more or less I've spoken all abt the car's impression to me. -------------------- Visit CARDOMAIN for all my rides, previously owned and current. |

haha u have just injected more poison, re-review the car again....just becareful of this NA Turbo setup as they not really meant for hardcore + the intercooler is different setup than Evo 7.5...boosting to 1 bar might sound ok but maybe not for long term hard core...
About ur Deep very visible scratches..any photo ? i think mostly cannot be full cover but maybe can lighten it..let see first.. Hmm..i think ur car have speedcut..since its a CBU kekeke..time to tweak it...install RSM, SAFC, maybe standalone.. Oh well, u r pro since ur Lancer cordia or mirage izzit...hehehe..sure alot alot homework u did Let go join the rest naik bukit...no need pek like them This post has been edited by g88 on Aug 4 2009, 12:43 AM |

i have heard some reviews bout the engine is not as robust as the EVO7 altho they claim that the Airtrek is using EVO7 engine...
optimus's car is a good example... so jaga a bit when u drive hard... i have heard some cases regarding the pistons cannot withstand extreme driving that much... -------------------- INSULFLEX : Heat/Sound Insulation Material for sale. For a more quiet n comfortable ride.

Thanks for all the advices, bro. Appreciate it.
Well, here are some stuffs in regards to the difference of Airtrek and Evo's 4G63T. (research did from forums and owners) 1) softer valve springs 2) less 'wild' cams 3) TD04 for AtrR instead of TD05. There might be more but these 3 are the most obvious one, that is why it is 40 hp and 45Nm lesser. I was being told any other internals are the same. Price to hook em up? Around 2.5K la... Can ATR be driven hard? Yeap, it can and it was proven by a few friends of mine whose existingly owning one. 1 of it is Trial Tuning's boss, he owns a Silver AtrR too. I am convinced of installing a MBC (manual boost controller) is also because of him. His AtrR is completely stock (wife use one ma...) and he has a MBC installed boosting at 1.1bar. He told me, as long as the engine is healthy and well taken care of, anything below 1.3bar is safe. His AtrR is doing 160K mileage now. No 'makan minyak itam' or what so ever. He has his speed cut removed and in stock form, it can go over 220kph. But for me, 180 is more than enuff (for now la... hehehehe). On the same concern, I've also got the confirmation from www.airtreker.com ppl. But if u ask me again, I am very cautious. Scare also ma... Optimus' trek, iszo told me the block was changed, right? Maybe something wasn't correctly done back then? -------------------- Visit CARDOMAIN for all my rides, previously owned and current. |

It looked like it wasn't stock Airtrek. Not to say it wasn't done correctly.
Anyway - 1bar boost??? Are you sure you want to go so high? That's stepping on dangerous grounds with stock parts. -------------------- |

Iszo, as mentioned I was convinced from existing Atr owners (from forums too), so I am not that worry boosting 1 bar. And it was also proven by my friend's Atr boosting 1.1bar for the past 5 years without a hiccup with super stock internals.
Anyhow, I am very cautious and I do not drive agressively. Only occassionally sprinting off on straight lines. Nothing like "corner after apex, pedal to metal" thingy. -------------------- Visit CARDOMAIN for all my rides, previously owned and current. |

Your car, your choice man. I can only say so much.
and your FC is atrocious. But that's to be expected from a TC car -------------------- |

Sure, appreciate yrs and the rest's advice
Well, the FC is pretty normal. Some Evos (even manual) are doing in the region of 4.xx to 5.xx km/L. PS: during tuning of MBC, it hit 1.5bar a few times and it was like whoa... the hissing sound is so loud (not from the stock BOV, but spooling sound). but I think a few more times hitting that zone, my engine will be gone as well, hahaha.. -------------------- Visit CARDOMAIN for all my rides, previously owned and current. |

a blown piston is no joke to repair. Your cylinder head will most likely have stressed points and/or cracks and you might even blow a hole in your block. Don't go there.
