“Highest Power-to-Weight Ratio of Any Production Car To Date”
 Bugatti never had to worry about any road legal car when it came to the traffic light sprint, till now. Ariel is introducing the Atom 500 V8, a 500kg roadster that boasts the highest power-to-weight ratio (1000hp-per-ton) of any production car to date. And just for your information, the earlier Atom was powered by a Honda K20A powerplant and even that delivered hardcore adrenalin. Can you imagine the rush from a lighweight powered by 500 horses? Neither can we, unless of course you’re some single seater racer. At the core of that massive rush and figures is a Russel Savory (RS Developments) 2.4-liter V8 equipped with five valves per cylinder, a dry sump and supercharger. 500hp is made available at a screaming 10,000 rpm with power channeled to the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential Sadev gearbox.  At each corner, Alcon four-pot brakes are nestled within Dymag magnesium wheels, with carbon fiber used liberally on the wheel arches, underbody tray, rear wing and formula-style front aerofoil. All told, the Ariel Atom 500 V8 will hit 100 in under three seconds, blow past 160 kmh in less than seven seconds and can be yours for… no word yet, but expect pricing to be released shortly and equally as astonishing.
