hello zybisko,

long time no see. how are you man? From you progress in photography, you really have become a pro now. Me, I'm still using a lot of camera's auto mode. Will learn to use manual more.

My son is only 16 day old. He was born on 01-02-2009. His face is changing everyday, that's why it important for to take a lot of shots. I will share some shots here, soon.

Sold my kit lens and got myself a new 50mm f/1.4D. Perfect for taking my baby's shot. Here are some of my baby's photos taken with my new lens. No PP and appreciate your C&C.

Fren, money is always a problem lah. If money is not a problem, I would have gotten myself a Hasselblad or at least a D3X.

The photos taken with kit lens was on auto. Everything was on auto-mode.

With the 50mm lens and with a lot of readings in www.shutterasia.com. I learn to choose the shutter-speed and aperture setting. The WB, the ISO, I set it on auto.

d90 is my 1st dSLR. When I can only spell the word "exposure".... I got really frustrated with the shots I took when using manual. That's why I set to auto. I need to do a lot of readings and shoot a lot. Even AF gave me a lot of headache sometimes.

I started to enjoy using manual now. It gives me a lot control how I want to compose my shots.

Thanks on the "colour seems dull" comment. I will take note.

you did your homework well and know what to invest * at least u have the budget (else you might have gone for D5000 biggrin.gif)

Also whose willing to start straight by investing into a prime lens that over Rm1K (as u claimed as newbiew laugh.gif )

Anyway...its good choice u made.

* note: nikon colour is very nice when shoot landscape but canon would be on colour skin tone 10.gif + try not to open wide open all time ( i know might wanna have great bokeh) hence DOF will be shallow and pic will turn softer...) try shoot at F8 and keep about 1/50 at least...

g88: The main reason that I get the d90 is to capture my baby's photo. I bought it in Jan09 before D5000 was launch. In fact, I wanted a d300. It was out of my budget.

Since everything is about capturing my baby's photos, I need a right lens too. The kit lens was too slow, I needed an external flash. Too troublesome and not able to produce the nice bokeh.

Anyway, I have lined up 2 other lenses I wanted and hope to get it before the end of the year.

Nikon 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6G
Nikon 10-24mm f/4G

Thanks for your comment.

feralee: Thank you. There were some body in front of me. I can't get a tighter crop but I managed to focus his face to capture that photo. I love it too.
