Title: Meguairs Ultimate Quick Detailer
Description: How the hell do you use?
izso - August 26, 2008 03:34 AM (GMT)
I wanna ask Meguair taikors in this forum - how the hell do you use the Meg UQD? I have a bottle at home and I dunno how to use!
pisces - August 26, 2008 03:45 AM (GMT)
Firstly, clean your car, preferably with shampoo.
Dry it and mist one small area (for example: one quarter of the front bonnet )at a time.
Spread it with a microfiber and then turn over the cloth and wipe it dry immediately.
(Do not let UQD self dry on the car as it might induce streaking)
I had also used this on my windscreen and got amazing results.

slk - August 26, 2008 04:06 AM (GMT)
Its a mist and wipe product
izso - August 26, 2008 04:10 AM (GMT)
what is its main purpose actually?
khguan - August 26, 2008 04:48 AM (GMT)
knn... makes me wanto t1u izso...
u buy the thing without knowing what it is for?? and the bottle there got no instructions on how to use meh??
duh...
K3N - August 26, 2008 04:51 AM (GMT)
Acts as a protection layer and prolongs wax but the main selling point that convinced me to use it is its high water beading ability...with and without UQD during rainy day is dramatic..dirt doesn't bond as much as without UQD which mean you'll have less chances of getting swirls during your next wash :D
izso - August 26, 2008 05:27 AM (GMT)
Khguan : aiya.. I got it cheap and I heard a lot of good things about it. Pisces instructions vs what is written there is slightly different. But I trust those who have used it. Besides, the instructions doesn't say what it's for.
K3N : thanks. That's the answer I've been looking for.

show what off la. I really dunno the purpose of the thing. I just tumpang choiheng buy because got friend told me to buy and use instead of using wax.
So now let me get this right.
1. Wash and dry car.
2. Wax and dry
3. UQD last?
g88 - August 26, 2008 07:25 AM (GMT)
Izso, UQD is NOT wax. Its a maintaining tool.
Meaning after you wash your car (let say weekly), you mist and wipe the product to the paint surface. It uses Hydrophobic technology which help in repels water.
It's capable of withstands with next few car washes (depend what shampoo you use)
Its a add-on product to your wax.
g88 - August 26, 2008 07:27 AM (GMT)
To add on bit..it also darken your finishing...
pisces - August 26, 2008 07:47 AM (GMT)

My friend, I still have 3 cans of M16, 1 bottle each of the NXT & Quik wax and a bottle of UQD.
These will last me for another good 3 years or more.
Finally finished washing my car with Gold Class shampoo and a coat of UQD on all the paint works and the glass area.

If possible, allow your wax to cure for 24 hours before applying UQD :)
K3N - August 26, 2008 11:57 AM (GMT)
UQD fully achieves its water repelling ability overnight or 12 hours..Mad repelling after that!!
By the way, i did try to apply UQD on a non-waxed car...Still repelling water after three weeks...In between the car was washed at least four times :)
fishbonezken - August 26, 2008 08:44 PM (GMT)
but remember, water repelling does not always mean the surface is protected, just my humble opinion.
The UQD is great to maintain a car's finish that is in an acceptable condition. Spray on, wipe off to add some looks, and a tiny bit of protection and water repellency.
Don't expect it to replace the protection of a proper wax/sealant.
Izso, I recommend you to wash, clay, wax( something with cleaners better, or if you're hardworking, polish/clean the paint, then wax)
then afterwards only follow up with UQD every two washes. Or however frequent you like.
izso - August 26, 2008 10:53 PM (GMT)
Ok thanks guys.
But I read pisces uses it on his window? Is that supposed to be the case?
zendened - August 26, 2008 11:51 PM (GMT)
thanks for the discount info g88.. time to replenish my UQD hehe

what master fish explained is exact right. UQD is just a 'Quick' product...it not made to handle UV but only water repelling.
One more thing to take note. Since Hypercoat going to increase product price in 1 Sep. So the 20% discount most likely would be after the price increase..thats my guess..but still should be cheaper geh...
Uncle pisces,
Hahah...u sapu so many M16 for what ???

The Clay I bought is the Smooth Surface Clay Kit that includes cleaner wax sample, quik detailer, supreme shine microfiber and 2x 50 gram clay bar.
The seperate clay is considered the pro range.
The shampoo is the US gallon pack which is equivalent to 3.78 liters or 128oz.
All at old price.
