Shell Malaysia wishes to warn members of the public of the following scam. It has come to Shell's attention that Short Messaging System (SMS) text messages are being sent to people claiming that they have won prizes from Shell Malaysia. Typically the sms will tells the SMS recipient that they have won a cash prize from Shell.

Please do not reply but ignore the sms. Shell Malaysia does NOT use text messages to communicate to our contest winners.

All winner announcements for contests run by Shell are advertised in the media and available on the Shell Malaysia website www.shell.com.my. Winners will also receive a phonecall informing them of their win by a Shell-appointed agency. At which point, Shell's agency will need to verify the winner's name, NRIC and address for the prizes to be couriered to the winners. Shell does NOT require any bank account numbers, etc. If ever in doubt, please do check the website to ensure that you are indeed a Shell contest winner.

once i have won a prize from Petronas. Just to share my experience.

The procedure was like this.

1. Firstly i got a call from Petronas. The person will tell me all my details without asking me. So i just confirm bout the info he gave.

2. Then i was informed that i will get a letter from Petronas for me to claim the prize.

3. So i waited the letter to arrive and made my way to claim my prize.

4. I got my prize. ::hooray::

yeah.. but that time i already forgot bout it... but dun care la.. cos i really won something mah.. hahaha... n i have always been a loyal Petronas customer... so i didnt doubt much bout it...

a very lucky u indeed....

i won Shell Contest before...

an indian girl calls me... ask me to confirm my details which she speaks out, i say yes or no. Then, she told me I will get a cheque and letter... that's it...
