I have been driving my car with leaking engine oil for about 1 year plus, until now my car already clocked 15x,xxxkm... and its time for a major service/overhaul....
My engine now is experiencing engine oil leak externally and internally... muahaha... there is once, after engine oil change... went up genting then came back.. the level on the dipstick dropped to half.. scary huh?? :lol:
Been changing some easy-to-change oil seals and gaskets all the while... but now i think its time to strip the engine n make it back to good condition... Well.. altho my engine condition is like that now... but still able to go genting and pek corners la... hehehe...
So... i'm gonna do this major overhaul thing together with my engine-sifu-colleague and take this chance to learn more about 4G15 engine... expected to complete the entire job in a week's time. The list below is what going to be done:
1. Change top gasket set
2. All other oil seals and gasket
3. Clean engine head internals
4. 1.6 stroker kit + new piston ring + bearings
5. timing belt kit
6. external belts
7. polish engine head air passage
8. etc - not known yet...
the water hose and engine mounting wil check whether need to replace or not... also i'm thinking of doing the valve cut... but how much difference would i get for doing so??
so did i left out anything?

Is this consider top or full overall. if full overhaul prepare at least 2-3K since just overhaul gasket set is Rm200-300 i think...consist few major gasket.
Than so many oil seal, valve seal. Must well oversize piston also hehe...

Let's not talk about the cost as you should know that our cost will not be as high.
As for piston size, lu gila kah? Already mentioned going to put 1.6 stroker kit, if not larger how to go it? -_-

High compression! Skim cylinder head and do high compression! But prepare to change head gasket every service! Hehehehe

high compression not dat kialang la...just skim it till almost max, but still allows for one more time of skimming just as a safety net, in case something like overheating happens and ur head gets warped...
actually the size of the 1.6 piston is just 76mm, ori around 75.5mm, still can put *slightly* bigger pistons *IF* can find available ones in the market which are of the same height as the 4g18 ones...none so far to my knowledge....
do a proper port and polish at powerzone or matspeed...and tell them u want it PnP'ed to ur specs...
-balancing, since ori balance out d window edi
-port-match ur intake manifold
-lighten and balance flywheel a lil bit
then if not enough
-4 throttles
-larger injectors
-standalone ecu
-ignition upgrade (coils, multi spark ignitions, plug wires)
-blueprinting
-fuel pump?

well.. i think getting 120hp on wheel is not that hard... the Powerzone iswara already 142hp with everything done up...
so far me already got the powerzone cams and WiSE (tuned length) extractor....
PnP still considering whether wanto do or not... see the budget ok or not 1st...
after this major overhaul thing.. will save money for E-manage.. and will polish the TB for better airflow or try playing with 1.6 TB... all i need is time...

eh.. dun wanto be too extreme la..
the 4-throttle and standalone ECU are too keng mod for me liao.. hehe...
after all i just want more useable power/torque for pekking corners... straight road with the new settings should be good enough for me... dun like to drive fast on straights... :P

Powerzone car got do blueprint and balancing ler. Maybe can mod on flywheel and gear ratio also. As the car going to be above 100hp i think real disc brake would be ideal also hehe

powerzone iswara is 142 hp at the crank...not atw...if not mistaken theirs is around 11x to 120 hp atw...shud be around this figure oso since 15% loss taken into account...(korekt ka 15%? cant remember)
PnP at their place costs around 1600 if not mistaken, properly done....balancing around 600 as quoted by matspeed....blueprinting around 2-3 k plus...
the 142 hp feller screwed his engine head as it was easy to whack past 8000 rpm....now installed better head studs...very impressive as an engine with a stroker kit is not meant to be as revvable as b4 stroked...must be the balancing & blueprinting doing its thing there...
apparently cud onli be overtaken by a mivec at around 200...this is according to another guy im keeping in touch who is currently doing the whole powerzone treatment...
eh if like pekking corners, go for their LSD unit, around rm850, will pull out of corners many many fast hehe

yeah.. this time i kena performance poison really kaw... thanx to kenny's GTi... :D
sometime ago when kenny told me doing stroker kit alone (the 1.7L kit that i mentioned previously) can increase 20-30hp easily... from that time onwards... kena poison liao.... but still can tahan...
then ah.. also thanx to sky who was selling his car so fast... made me take all his goodies in his car... especially the high cam... hahaha... also small2 stuff like plugs, shifter, from then on... kena poison again.. like a double dose...

:clap: Bro Guan, i'm very impressed with your ambitious plan in boosting up the hp of your 4G15 where i can only dream in my case...please let us know which professional mechanic you will be getting as there are very few automotive enginers that can a do job satisfactorily as what i had unfortunately learnt during my previous screwed up top overhaul work...all the best :tb:

well i dun fancy engine transplant ler... cos engine transplant in malaysia is not like the guai lous... ppl transplant engine is like a brand new engine after transplant... but here after transplant.. the engine bay look very much older... unless u totally rebuilt n recond the engine...

thanx for the comment... well i'm getting help from my colleague who was once a mechanic for honda engines... has quite some experience on engine rebuild n stuff... so 12v engine is very simple only for him... erm... duno can consider as professional or not la.. hehe...
the stroker kit part and block rebore kit will be done by a famous engineering shop... they will kautim... so most of the job will be just dismantle and install back... and also cleaning the engine internals...

4G18 is from Waja. Pajero IO also using same engine...
Sure tabao ur 4G92 SOHC...scare boh ahahah.... :P

4G1x n 4G9x engine are different from the crankshaft length n sizes... not to mention the bore n stroke are totally different..
so 4G15 n 4G18 basically share the same crankshaft mountings... so can plug n play... n also one shot take the piston for more displacement... apart from the increased stroke...

Guan, change ur pistons to low compression pistons, then custome made banana, source for TD-04 turbine, buy an E-Manage, place an intercooler then done already.. hahaha..
